I for one, am proud and happy about the improvements at BISD. What many don't realize, like it or not, Bmt is the big dog here, and thus the standard by which the area is gauged by outside folks. And all our schools/Dist have their problems. For example, friend was in pain. Dr gave him 800mg Motrin. He complained they weren't strong enough. Buddy said, Hey you can go to any HS around here & get stronger stuff than that. And I bet he was right.

I didn't think so until I saw a Dodge Hellcat Challenger ad. I think it has 770 HP. That boggles the mind. Heck, I've flown in planes with less than that. Crocker sounds familiar

Looking forward to Buna Tournament. That'll be an indication of how good we are. Since I've lived here, for the girls, the Buna games are always exciting - Vball & Bball.

No, don't think it was Mingle's. 99% sure it was on Gulfway Dr. but name is stored someplace I can't access lol. At GT Dragstrip, seems like Mingle's had a car called Texas Rattler with a Hemi they raced. Spent some good times there. Looking back, didn't realize how good. Yep, the demise of the circle was a killer. Intersection wasn't the same. Spent a few hours at Gateway myself before U. Sam decided he needed me. Had a second hand 64 Plymouth Fury with a 383/330hp. Thank goodness premium gas was was about .25 a gallon. Went thru a bunch. Use to race on frontage road passed Don's Seafood. If I ever hit the lotto, I'll get me one of those Fury's again. Looked one up on the Net a few months back and it was going for $35,000. So if any of yall want to get me a present, make it happen lol.

I'll repeat what I said earlier, IMO Hillary will never be President. I don't think the Dems want her. If they think they can win, they'll find someone else. Someone "they" (whoever they are) can control, like Obama. Hillary is a loose cannon. She's goofy as a glass-eyed dog. Compared to her, Bill is a ultra right wing conservative. Evadale won both JV sets. Had I not spent so much time at the concession stand, and concentrating on eating this big bag of diet M@M's, I could have gotten the scores.

First chain I remember in Bmt. Going south on 11th on the left before you got to Gateway. Small burgers .15 cents. Heaven! We use to drag up & down 11th from Pig Stand just south of St Ann's to other one just to the right on college. I'd get burgers at BC and go to PS and get a coke. Sit there and watch the cars go by. You brought back some great memories. My question, back in mid 60's was a Dodge dealership in PA. Go over there and 2 of 3 cars on the drag where Dodges. Anyone remember the name?

I posted a while back that they used to have facilities for mentally unstable, and insane (there was one in Rusk). I suggested we may want to rebuild them. Based on what keeps happening, they'd have to be huge to hold all the Govt. and judicial folks that meet the criteria. Smh

Fascinates me how the Media continues to manipulate with their word games. This quote, "Michael Brown an unarmed teenager shot and killed by a white police officer". Accurate? Yes. Distorts what happened? Yes. If you just woke up from a coma and read it, you'd visulize a young, innocent black (has to be, since they said white cop) teen being gunned down by a crazed white cop with swastika tats on his arm. M. Brown, teenager, unarmed - also, just committed a crime. Was on drugs. And was twice as big as the cop he was assaulting. Mentally ill? Doesn't matter. Sad? Yes. Very sad it all came down like that. Also sad the media still portrays him as just an unarmed teen. And I'd feel the same if the cop had been black, and the teen white. Words do mean things. Start paying attention to not only what the media says, but how they say it. It's for each of us to decide what the NYTimes agenda is by saying "unarmed teenager".

I like their chances this year. Will be there giving my support.

I would compare this, and many of the other weird things the Govt has done lately, with a military probing of an enemies position. What can we get away with? How much outcry? But you have to remember, I'm just an old man who use to trust the Govt explicitly, but I've changed, and our Govt has changed. I wouldn't trust them with my Prep H.

My goodness BG, this is proof of demonic possession. Many of us have therorized that it was occurring and now this, unfortunately, confirms it. Coug, I'm afraid you're right (I know you're right on the first part lol). The point you made about "the Rep. coming more to the middle is what perplexes me, and I'm sure many others. Again, I think you're right, I just don't understand why. The head of the DNC couldn't tell Matthews the difference between democrats and socialism, so that's an indication of how far left of "center" they are. But the perception most have is the Rep. are too far right. Believe me, the Rep. of today would mirrow the left wing Democrats in my younger days. Thats what makes some of us scratch our heads with one hand and our butts with the other, then switch hands. Now, in our heads, 2+2 doesn't equal 4. If you're not one of us dumbfounded folks, at least you can understand why this stuff has me ready for the Funny Farm lol.
