RaiderRed30 got a reaction from TxHoops in Bye, Bye, Briles
Baylor.
Where we promise a scandal every 10 years and also to never learn from the previous ones.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Silsbee's Hudson may not enroll at Baylor/Weighing options
If they come out and say that is the reason then Baylor needs to release them and let them play anywhere.
If it is the other case I am not so sure because as people have mentioned you sign with the school not the coach. Yes the coach recruits you but it is the school that you represent. Same with high school and pros. Coaches leave or get fired.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from UTfanatic in Again Baylor???
What about a TV ban for Baylor football? Not from the NCAA but what if the networks say no to broadcasting Baylor unless Briles is fired? The contract they sign is with the conferences so as long as they show the required games the networks (Disney and Fox) would not be in violation. The other schools in the conference will probably be on the fence, but the coaches will like that it hurts Baylor's chance to recruit players. Recruits want exposure and without TV they are not going to want to go there if they are offered by another school.
Just an idea

Yes it is that you forgot about the hometown Cardinals. Lamar's ranked just above Houston

How about home and home Thursday and Friday with possible game 3 at Lamar on Saturday?

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from PN-G bamatex in So.... This Donald Trump Guy..
Let's see freedom of religion is a part of the first amendment. Thereby stating that everyone in a certain religion should be banned from entering is breaking said first amendment. So Yes, what Donald Trump said is unconstitutional and is all talk.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from About a week ago in Flashy or methodical basketball
The best teams are usually ones that can play both, but I'll choose a mixture.
Offense: Plays fast and crashes the boards.
Defense: Slows it down and plays physical. The teams that win state need to be able to play shut down defense.
You can score a 100 and lose, but can score 1 and win.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Bobcat1 in TEXAS...could it make it on its own?
They aren't going to vote to leave. It's just like Scotland. They have the vote it seems like it will be close but in the end it will be around 60/40 if not more. The UK has the most freedom out of any of the EU members and by staying in they will have even more freedom. It's just an appeasement move.

Big 12 is easily the strongest conference top to bottom. They will be replaced by good coaches to make the conference that much more tough.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from BS Wildcats in 3A State Tournment Match-ups
Had time to look it up, it was Brownfield I was thinking of. Last year their star player came back in December and played all the rest of the year while facing trial for 3 felony charges, including one with a firearm. Caused controversy if he should even have been allowed to play.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from 24 over par in Chireno girls Region 4 1A champions
If its any consolation, the boys have only won 6. It's the panhandle what else is their to do in the winter. Plus out of every town in Texas, and probably the entire country, Nazareth lives and dies basketball. The players harshest critics are their grandparents.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Hoopster-007 in Crosby 66 Bryan Rudder 56/LADY COUGARS ADVANCE TO SAN ANTONIO!!!
When I think of all the great women's coaches in Texas, Lombard is in my top 4 and it is impossible to be wrong with any of the 4. His son has won 2 state titles at Wall I believe, and I have them both winning again this weekend. He has also won I think 5 or 6 state titles in XC. Very Successful.
As for the comment about length and athleticism, 2 years ago they faced Georgetown in the state championship game. Georgetown was defending state champion and was in their last year before the town was fully split. They had 27 players on the roster, including 13 that were over 6 feet tall. 3 of their starters signed with D1 schools I believe. Plus their coach is another of my top 4 greatest. Everything seemed perfect for Georgetown to repeat, but Canyon had a freshman 5'4" who destroyed Georgetown and gave Canyon the title.
They are fundamentally sound and I have the Panhandle leaving San Antonio this weekend with 3 state championships with Wall winning another one. They play fundamentals and stress defense. They are patience. It won't be a 70 point game. Heck Wall won on Saturday 28-14. Different style, but it sure is fun to watch.

In Yates defense they did lose later that year to Lee 26-25.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from AthleticSupporter - Jock in Today is Appeals Day at UIL
90% of the time UIL gets its right. This was not because of them. Livingston turned in the wrong numbers and it was not revealed until after redistricting was over. The best solution for everyone was to place them in one district with only 8 teams to create a 9 team district and not try to mess with more teams schedules than UIL had to. If they had turned in the right numbers than who knows how the districts would have ended up. This is on Livingston not the UIL.

Windthorst and Throckmorton. Windthorst won the first half, but was killed in the 2nd half.

Kennedale should be a good game. They are a really good run based team. I think last season may have had 2 2,000 yard rushers. Not for sure, but they are usually very good and athletic.

Canadian, Cisco, Refugio, Stephenville, Wylie, Richland Springs, Throckmorton, etc. might disagree with that statement.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from BMTSoulja1 in Beaumont Ozen
Wasn't that because of scheduling? I thought Houston for basketball plays all of their varsity games, both boys and girls in only 4 or 5 gyms, and football around that amount. They opted up schools to have a district to themselves allowing them to set their own schedules and not have to worry about other teams. I believe that is why they opted up all of the 4A D2 schools to D1 this time because last time they were having to travel all the way to Navasota for football. Garland and Austin have done the same. I think Fort Bend as well. It is just easier if you can have your own district and decide everything than having to make agreements with other school districts and working around their academic calendars. Plus usually schools in the same school district will have similar facilities and everything else, so the difference in numbers is not felt as much.
In this case, BISD said it saved money, but other than football their district would have been closer with the farthest game LCM instead of Lee. Maybe this will be a one time thing and Ozen can gain students to have 5A numbers in two years, but if not hopefully BISD will realize the problem and allow them to drop.

Why stop at 5. Just have the starting lineups at West Brook, Ozen, and Central all transfer and have 3 groups of 5.
