  1. With the 5 game stretch they’re in I was okay with them winning 2, and 3 would be a bonus. They’ve won 2, and have 2 chances left at a 3rd. I’m good with it
  2. They’re a bottom of the upper tier team. Probably 5-6 teams better than them this year. When they’re on they’re good enough to beat anyone, but I expect them to lose more than win against those 5-6 teams better than them. It is what it is. They’re going to the playoffs again, and they’re good enough that if they get there and get hot, anything can happen. Diggs getting hurt was a huge loss on defense for them. I’ll still take this team over the Quincy Carter years 😀
  3. Joke is on them. Depending on the caliber of woman they set him up with, he's liable to end up with someone trying to find a way out of setx and into the big city
  4. setxathlete did a good job answering this for me. why not leave PNG and go make more money somewhere with more prestige and state of the art facilities? If he's confident in his ability to win anywhere (why wouldn't he be), it makes total sense to go take a high profile job somewhere, especially if he has any dreams of moving up into the college ranks. I hope that he stays for awhile, truly. but there's a lot of desperation in this thread from PNG fans (totally understandable) that is misrepresenting just how much better it would be for him to stay here versus taking over a big-name program somewhere else. And if he's going to do it, now's the time. PNG isn't going to sniff state every year, and his stock may never be higher than it is right now, especially if PNG comes back to earth the next couple of years.
  5. I hate to break it to you, but at least 75% of the single women in southeast texas don't even have the first clue who he is.
  6. Yup. That pay raise and extension is nice, but also drives up the asking price when the offers from other schools start rolling in
  7. Stupid penalties have led to every single touchdown. Game should be 3-3 right now
  8. I’m not misunderstanding your point. Katy high has lost like 6 games in 5 years, though, and been to the state semis two out of the last three. You’re overstating their demise. If anything, with the buzz surrounding him now he’d pull talent back from those other Katy schools, although it’s not like there’s not a ton still there. But the same holds true if he wants to take a job in any big city for more money and prestige. But as I said, it would be cool if he stays here. I just don’t think your reasoning will be why if he does. The community is the only thing that has a shot to keep him here.
  9. I’d start work on it January 2nd, if he’ll commit to staying 5 years.
  10. He’s made his name at this point. if he goes to Katy (or literally anywhere else, for that matter) the talent will find it’s way to him, just like you’re suggesting would happen here if he stays at PNG. Joseph and company definitely realize this at every level. Maybe he loves it here and stays, and I hope he does, but PNG isn’t offering any advantages that he can’t get in a bigger, more prestigious position. The suggestion that he can pull in outside talent around here but not anywhere he chooses to go is wishful thinking.
  11. So it was the athletes on the other side yesterday when Bellville lost by 2 in a game that they blew, but today in this one, it wasn’t the coaching that beat them when the athletes lost. Yesterday it was “turnovers are part of the game. The athletes were the difference. Today it’s “a bad call was the difference, and why the athletes lost.” Bad calls are part of the game as well, amigo 😀
  12. Indeed. And the athletes won by 2, due to a failed PAT and two red zone turnovers. Not because they were more athletic.
  13. Kinda feels like Bellville’s coach has outcoached himself this game.
  14. They better pick it up. I don’t want to look bad on smoaky 😀😀
  15. this. wait until Coach Driskell logs in and sees this!
  16. I didn't say I was shocked. I said I was disappointed. Kinda like how you started a special thread just to crucify him, and how certain folks from franklin are in every franklin/malakoff post on facebook bringing it up. I agree it was disrespectful, and I wouldn't be mad if he lost his mvp or got suspended several games. but so is the fact that very few franklin folks are giving any credit to Malakoff for a fantastic season and straight up beating y'all, but are instead harping on this incident. it was ridiculous, but it's also a footnote, not the main story.
  17. I think they have two more years of this, and then they turn into a run-of-the-mill dallas 6A school. I'm sure they'll be pretty decent, but I don't see them doing much more than that.
  18. the kid should be disciplined, but it's also kind of disappointing seeing the way Franklin fans are jumping on him like this. It's a response to losing, and a poor one. That said, seeing his mom's response, it's no surprise as to why he acts that way. What's scary is she's a teacher and coach at Malakoff according to her facebook profile.
  19. 'I'm not a progressive': Fetterman breaks with the left, showing a maverick side (msn.com) Fetterman probably isn't fit for office, and he's still a dem, but I'll give him some credit for campaigning for border security and strong support of Israel.
  20. Made the mistake of going and reading the smoaky thread. Somehow I now find myself rooting hard for Bellville to curb stomp them, whereas before I was just going to be an interested observer.
  21. Kinda regretting dumping spectrum, but they went way up on our price
