  1. Realistically, SA is at the farthest range of our coverage area and you legitimately may be the only SA poster active on the board, when you’re active. It’s not a disrespect thing, just more of a practicality. AAW makes threads for the games that are more likely to generate discussion. If he had a thread for every game in the districts that only have 1-2 teams that have active posters there would be 10-15 dead threads every game night clogging up the forum
  2. Not all of us are degenerate sports gamblers. Although I’ve been on a pretty nice poker run lately
  3. Coming on here to say the same 😀
  4. This OF team was supposed to be better than they’ve been, no?
  5. Liberty on a nice run, down 16-14 with 3:00 left in the half
  6. Horns beat the buzzer to lead 14-4 after 1
  7. Horns up 7-4 with 2:00 left in the 1st
  8. HF 53 Liberty 37 tight game until the 4th and then the horns blew it open
  9. I think I’ve gotten lumberton wrong every game. This’ll be the first time I’ve picked them right
  10. Mavs were set up to be good for a decade. Harrison is completely blowing that up. They’ll have maybe a 2 year window where they’ll be really good, and then they’ll be absolute garbage again. And that’s if Kyrie takes the player option this summer. I highly doubt he will. He loved Luka like a brother. I think he’s gone as soon as he can be, success or not
  11. Just made another very questionable trade, Quentin Grimes for Caleb Martin. Contractually it makes some sense, but not when you just traded Luka effing Doncic to "win now." Saving that $345M by not having to give Luka a supermax, Grimes is exactly the type of player that the mavs should be looking to extend in the offseason. rather than trading for a lesser player with 3 years left on his contract.
  12. Having dug deep into this, it appears more than anything that the Mavs' GM just didn't like Luka. He likes to surround himself with "his guys." He'd already run off or fired everyone that Luka liked in the organization. Nico Harrison made this absolutely terrible trade, completed gutted the city, completely gutted the future of the franchise, and then cracked some dumb jokes. I really think he thought he'd done something good. Not only should he not have made the trade for ANYTHING, he got about 10-20% what he could've gotten for Luka had he put it out there around the league that he wanted to get rid of him. Usable parts combined with 7-8 future first rounders was likely. We got one talented, often hurt almost 32-year-old, and 1 draft pick in return. Even had to give up a 2nd rounder in the deal. The original deal was going to be 2-3 first rounders, AD, and Dalton Knecht. Still woefully inadequate in exchange for Luka, but twice as good as what that bum Nico got instead. He somehow got talked into taking less than the original. He should already be fired. He should've been fired for taking the offer to the owners in the first place. Unfortunately they're ignorant morons that didn't know any better. When your GM, who's supposedly good at his job, tells you that he's got a "win-now" move, I guess it sounds good if you don't know crap about basketball. Dude traded a "win-now" player for the next decade for a guy who doesn't make them any better even this season. I'm still so pissed about this whole thing. EDIT: as to address your point directly: the mavs have had a top-5 defense WITH LUKA ON THE COURT since the trade deadline last season. His weaknesses on defense are well overblown, and that's also why they've ALREADY BUILT A DEFENSIVE TEAM AROUND HIM. Also, who gives a crap what he weighs. He can eat cheeseburgers and smoke cigs on the bench for all I care if he's giving you 30/9/9 a game. All of the points made by the Nico Harrison (because nobody else in the Dallas org wanted this besides Nico's inner-circle) are just BS excuses because he's so arrogant and ignorant that he really didn't think his decision would be that big of a deal, and he had to come up with something.
  13. HF has earned their ranking IMO, but Silsbee and HJ should be ranked in that same general area (20ish). HJ isn't near the team they've been for the last 6-7 years, but had they not still carried a pre-district schedule of 6A and 5A opponents they could easily have a record somewhere around 27-3. Silsbee could also be a 4-5 loss team without 5 losses before district to 5A/6A squads. HJ is still the best of these three teams, having beaten Silsbee by 19 earlier this season, and HF by 21 the other day.
  14. not to mention other people from other places came to the same conclusion you did based on talking to other sources. you weren't the only place that this "rumor" originated from.
  15. If he's a sports reporter reporting news from sources that he trusts, I'm not really sure what the issue is.
  16. Previous commissioner wouldn’t have. This one is probably excited about the ratings in LA and the attention boost
  17. If they were insistent on making a trade, they could’ve gotten how many first round picks? 6? 8? And probably some decent pieces to go with it. Organizational malpractice
  18. The only two ways it makes sense is if the Dallas GM is colluding with the lakers and ends up there in the next couple of years, or more likely, if the new ownership group is trying to dry up the fan base and move the team to Vegas in a couple of years.
