  1. Both teams go 3 and out to start, but Cuero roughed the kicker giving Jasper a 1st down
  2. PG up 21-14, and from what I’ve seen pleasant grove is the better team, at least so far
  3. 1. North Shore 2. Atascocita 3. Prosper 4. Summer Creek 5. CE King 6. Byron Nelson 7. DeSoto 8. Justin Northwest 9. Aledo 10. Port Neches-Groves 11. South Oak Cliff 12. Celina 13. Anna 14. Chapel Hill 15. Cuero 16. Silsbee 17. Carthage 18. Bushland 19. Newton 20. Cooper 21. Timpson 22. Mart 23. Lovelady 24. Happy 25. Benjamin
  4. Here’s why the vidor game is at least semi-relevant. Part of what makes the slot-t so hard to defend is it’s a novelty. Most 4A teams go seasons without facing it. So it is kind of a big deal that they’ve seen 4 quarters of it from an okay team running it. That’s a much better look at it than a week of the scout team trying to mimic it. It’ll give them a leg up vs. anyone else who Bellville has played. A much larger leg up over those teams will come from Silsbee’s talent and speed on both sides of the ball. Bellville answered a lot of questions for me the last two weeks. It’s clear they’re really good. But they haven’t played anyone close to as good as Silsbee, so looking at results against common opponents is about as valuable as going by what happened last season. It should be a great game. I’m gonna go with the tigers just because they have a lot more flexibility on offense, but obviously anything can happen.
  5. As an HF and employee, I absolutely hated to see that. It’s not something we expect as longhorn fans. I’m hoping it’s addressed quickly. Good luck to y’all moving forward. Y’all have an excellent team.
  6. Jasper can play with them, but are going to have to play a clean game. Gotta limit turnovers and penalties. That’s what did HF in.
  7. I made that point and a certain poster can’t get over it. That said, I never said they weren’t good. I just said it was hard to tell how good based on that schedule. But the last two weeks have shown just how good they are. It should be a great game. Silsbee is a lot better than WOS or Madisonville, and they played a game already this year against the slot-T, albeit against a much lesser team. Can’t wait to watch this one.
  8. HF did a great job fighting all night, but man did they hurt themselves all game. Had to be close to 20 penalties. Some of those were caused by facing a really good team, but most were mental errors or personal fouls. Not to mention all of the turnovers early to put themselves in a big hole they couldn’t ever make it all the way out of
  9. I’m behind, but seeing the start of it. Hate that, and don’t like to see our boys acting like this.
  10. Horns have 5-yarded themselves to death tonight in some huge spots
  11. I know my broadcast is behind. But HF got a huge stop on 4th down, got a big gain to about the Cuero 30, then had 5 mistakes in a row (slip, drop, penalty, sack, personal foul) that led to Cuero ending up with the ball on the HF 30
  12. Horns showing signs of life. Come out in the 2nd half and get a stop and anything can happen. If Cuero finds a way to score on their first drive I don’t see the horns finding a way back from that.
  13. Cuero is good. No surprises there. HF has to take better care of the ball if there’s any chance to make this a ballgame.
  14. I’ve now talked to three people, one who was involved, one who was on the sideline, and one high up in the district. It happened, with pics and video to prove it. It was reported to the UIL, but somehow isn’t illegal?
  15. I wasn't there, but heard the story directly from an exceptionally reliable source.
  16. I found out this morning that a Cuero coach in plain clothes snuck onto the HF sideline at last week's game and the constable had to run him off. Kind of BS if you ask me. I hope the UIL does something about it, but not sure what the ramifications are.
