  1. I think in a state this big, it makes it pretty hard to judge how good a team is until you see them in person. Bellville is a perfect example, obviously. They started 10-0 last year playing a weak schedule, people were talking about state runs, then they squeaked by WOS and laid an egg against Madisonville in the second round. This year they go 10-0 against an even weaker schedule, then win their first four playoff games by about 800 points against some really good teams.
  2. Dave Campbell says bellville down 21-14 in the 2nd, but I’m not watching the game
  3. I was cringing watching all the folks talking about how PNG was going to have a cakewalk all week. Hopefully we see that in the 2nd half. It sure isn’t happening currently. Lot of fight in this LH team
  4. heck of a game, it sounds like.
  5. I’m not reading 11 pages to find out… can you watch this game anywhere? It’s not on NFHS, is Bally sports airing it?
  6. if it was trump pushing it, you'd change your vote and go for biden and his open borders and gun confiscation and all of the other fruitcake policies that the left is pushing? Of course you wouldn't. They're not going to abandon their party over one issue either. The good news is we're at least starting to see some pushback within the party on that particular issue.
  7. nobody is going to agree with 95% of one side's politics but vote the other way because of one issue, including you.
  8. of course. if they have to choose between two turd sandwiches, they're going to pick the one that aligns closest to their political beliefs. Just like how I'm voting for Trump.
  9. yeah, i'm a big supporter of cops, but I'm going to disagree with you here. oftentimes cop haters will say something like "a speeding ticket wasn't worth a death sentence", but then you watch the video and the guy who ended up dead was only going to get a speeding ticket until he tried to run over a cop or fought them and got shot. In those cases, it really pisses me off that it's made out like police killed a guy for a minor infraction. That said, this case was something different. it doesn't matter if this guy had a potentially fatal level of fentanyl in his system, or if he was already talking about having trouble breathing in the car, or anything else. It doesn't matter than he was a bad person with a criminal record, and it doesn't matter that he resisted. While he was restrained and no longer a threat (and very much alive), an officer put a knee on his neck and left it there until he was very much dead. Chavin absolutely deserved to go to jail. Maybe a thin argument can be made that it wasn't murder, but he definitely committed crimes. I think reasonable arguments could be made for the other officers with him to not be convicted. So many of the cases where I see police prosecuted they either did nothing wrong or made very understandable mistakes. Neither of those categories fit this crime.
  10. the ultra-liberal left has finally pushed it so far that the folks who I think of as the "normal democrats" are siding with republicans on a lot of these issues, as they should be.
  11. Parents: Daughter forced to sleep in bed with transgender student on school trip (nypost.com) Pure insanity.

  13. I get the bitterness, but he’s also ignoring the fact that strength of schedule matters, as do marquis wins. His team has neither. When your best wins are over 3 and 4 loss teams, it works against you. Bama could’ve scheduled Lamar instead of Texas and they would’ve had the 1-seed. LSU could’ve gone 11-1 and be in the playoffs and the FSU win over them would’ve carried more weight. A lot of it is situational, and this whole situation was a cluster. But 90% of the country doesn’t want to watch FSU get blown out next week.
  14. Said this for years. They went from having a shot of winning the big 12 and a chance at a possible playoff to what they are now.
  15. To be fair, after what I saw tonight, I’d give them a fair shot against FSU as well.
  16. I don’t think they’re in the top 4 teams. Washington, Georgia, and Bama are all favored over them, and Michigan has already beaten them. Texas is probably a push. but it’s close enough that they deserve to be in a playoff, just not in this playoff that’s only taking 4 teams. Bring on expansion.
  17. You know somebody in the discussions? Just curious where you’re getting this with such confidence.
  18. I don’t think they’re in. I’m just stating that if you go by that statement, they probably should be.
  19. That’s because this year they have no chance to get in with the way things played out. And who in the top 7 wouldn’t be favorited by 14 over FSU right now? But I do agree they’re good enough, and have argument to be in. Just not over the other 6. I think they’re a clear number 7 here with all factors considered, even though they’re better than FSU. They’re a great argument for an expanded playoff, though. So are OU and Oregon, as much as I dislike both of them.
  20. Texas has the Bama win, Bama has the Georgia win. FSU is undefeated, and Georgia’s loss was to Bama by 3 after an undefeated season in the SEC. OSU needed the Michigan win, and didn’t get it (Michigan was in the same boat, but got their marquis win). I do think they’re good enough to deserve to be in a playoff, but i don’t agree that they’ve had the season to be grouped with the 4 teams fighting for the final 2 spots. We got the playoff cluster we needed 10 years ago the year before they’re finally doing the right thing and expanding.
