UIL is looking at using 2 footballs at the same time to exploit these skills and make the game very interesting.  The two balls (footballs) would have to be hiked at the same time by an ambidextrous center.
If they do not use two balls then I see no advantage in being ambidextrous.
That’s my story and I am sticking to it.

The X-Factor, IMO, is Gary Joseph, who now has a lot of free time to crunch SOC film and help his son game plan to stop their offensive attack. PNG just picked up a additional assistant coach for this one. I really think this will make the difference.

Not the season we wanted losing some core position players next year. Will need new wide receivers, Eudy gets a year with the snaps, two very promising running backs return. It will all be for nothing if those offensive and defensive lineman don't drill and hit the weight room hard this spring and summer.
We won't have the advantage of a bunch of extra practices but we get to start lifting heavy earlier which should help the trenches as they very clearly need to get stronger and faster to compete in 5AD1.
We will have a star linebacker next year hopefully that can help us, but it's so much that needs to be worked on. Good luck young men hope you really stick to the program this offseason and trust your coaches because they can get you where you want to be.
I'm hopeful next season can be a really good year, I've also heard the pipeline is quite full right now at the Freshman/Sophomore level.

Having encountered FW on many occasions via baseball, softball, VB etc, they are an easy school to support. They have some of the nicest, classiest fans I have ever encountered. They do things right. I hope they find an outstanding coach to fill the shoes. FW always played football with great preparation and effort, and I am sure the right guy will be found to continue it.

Goose Creek needs to let Lee play in their correct division. We see how much Crosby has struggled moving up a division  Just thinking about how much better Lee could do in their correct division down with Dayton and the like.
Lee already has low turn out for their enrollment, then making them play up a division to keep them with the other Baytown schools is detrimental and probably cost them two playoff appearances now last year and this.
Good game Barbers Hill. Lee with just too many mistakes back to back to back in the second quarter. Three turnovers within 5 minutes.

Trust me when I say this, many coaches read this website and some even participate. I have had several ask me about things posted here.
I don't believe their sole focus for the week is what they read on this message board. But they are not going to ignore something that could pertain to their upcoming game.
Most folks here would be very surprised at how many coaches frequent this site. If you are betting, take the over.

Meh.  The announcers, I think both Trinity Grads and I know one of them coached under the elder Lineweaver, said they are running a new defense and I saw that.  Running a lot of odd man fronts which they were a even front defense for most of the time I have been watching them.  Prosper's QB made some bad throws and Trinity picked him.  I wasn't impressed with the Eagles passing game.  Their run game was a different story based on how Trinity was lined up
And again, with a minute 46 left in the game, there were some poor play calling and poor clock management on Trinity's part.  Also, they are going to have to pick one QB sooner or later.  Both are Sophomores

That's the difficult part about playing teams like CE King, North Shore, Duncanville, Desoto, etc. They already have a bunch of talent to begin with, throw in the fact that they're also open enrollment and you basically end up with select teams playing UIL football. If the UIL wanted to add an additional level of "fairness" outside of the enrollment caps they could do something like the NCAA and allow the one-time transfer free of penalty.
Crosby has had kids denied even when they had legit Crosby addresses. We've had kids that had to sit out a season like one of our starting LBs this year, and still currently have kids with eligibility issues. It kind of puts you at a disadvantage for doing things the right way. Meanwhile, talent-rich schools get even more rich.

I contacted five state championship coaches one year when volleyball season and asked if I could meet with. I told them I would come to them and pay them for their time, but I just wanted to talk about the game and see what they were doing different than our area. One coach had just won her third in a row. The first thing she said to me was, “Coach…you are only as good as your athletes.”
During our conversation the name Ryan Mitchell came up and how good of a job he was doing. She told me he was her assistant and would talk about how terrible some coaches her. She would tell him, “Ryan…that coach could be really good but you are only as good as your players.” He took a job a school and left after two or three years because he was getting his butt kicked. Humbled, he went back to being her assistant for a year or two. He then left and started the volleyball program at Lucas Lovejoy…he won five straight state championships, including moving from 4A to 5A during that five year span.

Just an example how most coaches think…we are only as good as our athletes, but it is our job to maximize their talents to the best of their abilities. I also think this debate is probably as pointless as trying to change a Democratic to Republican or Republican to Democrat. You aren’t going to change anyone’s mind on how they feel.

Some folks have known but I will make it public. My time as a full time administrator/broadcaster is up. I told my wife of 33 years that when she retired from teaching that I would retire with her to the beach. She retired last May and I told her I would finish out the football and basketball seasons of this year then I would join her. (would have joined her in May but needed to stay on after the passing of our beloved admin WOSGrad). I am so ready to be a beach bum.
I have enjoyed these past 17 years here on the site. I have seen it grow from just a little message board to now be considered a valuable media outlet. It truly has been a labor of love.
First of all, I want to thank Jordan Wilson, the owner of this site, by inviting me on as a staff member and eventually an administrator. He trusted me with the help of running this site and allowed me to "do my thang" and start my broadcast career. It has truly been a blessing. Thanks
I want to thank Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) who is looking down on us from heaven. He has been my partner in crime for all these years and is the reason this site is what it is today. He was the man!! I dearly miss my old friend and I hope that he is up there saying "job well done my friend". Thanks Todd for everything you did for me and this site.
I want to thank all the staff members here. Particularly Lucas, Mack, Robert, Terry, Matthew and all of the other staff. You have helped make this the place to be as for Southeast Texas sports.  Thanks for all the support over the years.
Thanks to all the coaches that I have come to know and work with all these years. Thank you for your support and cooperation and your acceptance of me and SETXsports. I am truly grateful.
Thanks to all the members here who really are what makes this site so great. I have become friends with several here and I cherish all the times we have spent on and off this site. God Bless all of you.
I wish all and this site the very best. I will still be around some but it will be mostly from my chair on the beach with my toes in the sand holding a cold one.
Thanks again to everyone and May God Bless.

Totally off topic, but the proposal for the hospital district improvements, etc was destined to fail for lots of reasons. Here's an informative post from facebook, from a person in Dayton. Not sure where the article he mentions is located. Take it for what you will.

Okay, I have read the somewhat misleading article about the proposed new hospital. Now to set the type and the record straight, the proposed hospital will be built in Liberty with a “token” clinic built in Dayton. Years ago, Liberty decided it wanted a hospital district. The first attempt pitted the Liberty-Hardin-Devers-Hull and Daisetta areas against the Dayton area comprised of Dayton ISD. The hospital district was voted down. But the district proponents were not done. This second time they reduced the Dayton vote to what was then only the defined city limits of Dayton - in other words, they gerrymandered the vote to get the results they wanted. This time, of course, Dayton was outvoted. As everyone is well aware, the Dayton area has far surpassed Liberty in its growth. The expected growth of Dayton will soon dwarf the other areas, other than Dayton, served by the district. Personally, I have several questions: 1. Was there any attempts to get a donation of land in Dayton for the proposed hospital? With a hospital being built in Dayton and Liberty already having a hospital, the new clinic wouldn’t be necessary, saving money. 2. Will the passage of the proposal in any way hinder the ability of Dayton to have its own hospital which could also share in the funding provided by district funds? 3. Who were the citizens of Dayton that were on the district board that were involved in coming up with this proposal? 4. The article said the land had already been donated and paid for. Wasn’t that a little presumptuous? Just like the last time, what’s the hurry all of a sudden? 5. Much has been made about Liberty being the county seat, but it only requires a petition by the majority of voters within the county to petition for moving the county seat. Can you imagine what could happen if just the Dayton-Cleveland areas decided that a county seat needed to be more accessible to the more populous area of the county? There wouldn’t have to be any gerrymandering to make it happen. It is for these reasons i will be voting no for the proposition.
