  1. Anahuac had no answer for Orangefield offense tonight. In particular the pass game and more specifically the middle of the secondary. Bobcats exploited that area all night long. Orangefield did a great job mixing the run with the pass. Anahuac simply couldn't get any stops when needed. OF scored TD's on their first 7 possessions. Only when the 2nd team offense was out there in 4th were they forced to punt. Bobcats defense played well. Got hit with a couple of big plays but all in all did a great job of containing the Panther run game. This was the 3rd time for me to see Orangefield this season. They looked the best tonight. Definitely have improved from earlier in the season.

  2. I would think that the local school based broadcast would have first dibs, but then again I don’t work in broadcasting nor am I a contract lawyer. As Tfaas said I saw a FB post as well that both school groups were going to stream tonight.

  4. Another note from the UIL meeting… Starting next year, UIL will allow the broadcast of OTA (over the air), cable & satellite TXHSFB games on Friday nights during the season. THSCA voted for it to keep Friday nights for high school vs allowing college ball to take over Friday nights. No more relegated to just streaming. News Release: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]

  6. 'Cats wallop Anahuac, 49-14 By Tom Halliburton Orangefield absolutely took Anahuac to the cleaners on Thursday night in a game that never felt like a District 10-3A-1 championship game at all. Coach Jeff Breaux’s group performed like champions at F.L. McClain Stadium, executing flawless offensive, defensive and special teams game plans and delivering Bobcat Nation a quite convincing 49-14 victory. The Bobcats (7-1 and 4-0) did their part but their guests never countered with enough responses to create the type of shootout that it was expected to become. Anahuac (5-4 and 4-1) trailed 14-0 before it ever snapped the ball and found itself in a 21-0 dungeon less than 10 minutes into the game. “It kinda got away from us quick tonight,” said Panthers coach Greg Neece, who had to think his team would make this a more competitive matchup. “All the credit should go to them. Orangefield just has a great football team.” Maybe so, but the Bobcats rarely had welcomed this type of one-sided enjoyment in several of their wins – 35-28 at East Chambers, 20-7 over Buna, 18-16 at Bridge City, 30-24 over Hardin-Jefferson. What changed against Anahuac? It started with a picture-perfect game plan. Perhaps the extra week of preparation mattered. Coming off an open date, Breaux and his staff had two weeks to get ready and their seniors looked very fit and ready for the occasion. Perhaps the turning point came when the Bobcats walked into their locker room after pre-game warmups and senior quarterback Hunter Gonzales shouted to his mates, “let’s get laser-focused.” That’s the kind of superior leader this four-year starter has been as a football and baseball star at Orangefield. He showed it again Thursday night, running for two touchdowns, throwing for three touchdowns and guiding an offense to a 403-yard night (251 rushing and 152 passing). Gonzales got his message across to his mates. Senior running back Gage Lucas carried 20 times for 151 yards and three touchdowns. Senior receiver Cole Sanches grabbed five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. A trio of senior blockers Landon Eads, Andrew Pachuca, and Victor Martinez gouged out hole after hole in the middle of Anahuac’s defense. Anahuac’s offense entered Thursday with a league’s best 383-yard total offense average. The Bobcats limited them to 227 yards. The subject of Bobcats’ defense started with senior end Hayden Clark, and teammates Bryce Hooks, Simon Dotson and Cylan Granger. A few of these seniors wanted to make a memorable impression. Anahuac brought the league’s leading rusher and scorer, Jaytwan Dowdye, into this shootout, but the Bobcats defense knew where he was all night. Dowdye ended the night with 64 yards on 14 carries and no points. When Panthers quarterback Braydon Sutch wanted to throw, Orangefield’s pursuit intensified the pressure. Sutch discovered it at the end of Anahuac’s opening second-half possession. The Panthers marched to the Cats’ 28 but Jacob Walters forced Sutch to fumble and Granger dashed 19 yards with the recovery into Anahuac’s territory. “Our plan was to give great effort,” Hayden Clark said. “We felt like they did a lot of trickery so it was important for us to stay in our gaps.” Another significant senior hero in this outcome was the versatile Gavin Gravett, a solid defender and kicker. Seven-for-seven on extra points was helpful but Gravett was most valuable on kickoffs. He consistently befuddled Anahuac’s return team with squib kicks. When Gravett booted his first squib, the Panthers never found the handle and Orangefield’s Sanches claimed the free ball at Anahuac’s 38. Gonzales turned a 7-0 lead into a 14-0 cushion six plays after the fumble with a four-yard scoring run behind blocker Jacob Walters. Orangefield’s head coach respected Anahuac’s speed on kick returns and implemented the right strategy to offset that threat. “We watched video where Anahuac had returned two kicks for touchdowns and we didn’t want to give them that opportunity,” Breaux said. When the handshake lines started, Orangefield’s players never celebrated as if they had captured a district championship. That’s because the Bobcats haven’t done that yet. Two more regular-season games remain, starting with next Friday’s trip to Coldspring. Tom Halliburton a senior sports correspondent for the Beaumont Enterprise

  7. Even when we played Huntsville at home last year and NFHS was there broadcasting.it, NDN Press was still doing it. They said on the alumni podcast they were doing it. There was a post on Facebook also that said both NDN Press and the BigNed Network were doing it. So multiple places showed it was going to be on NDN Press Channel.

  8. Funny, thanks for the info. it's my understanding that NDN press isn't able to broadcast this game, not sure why, but there are some UIL rules that may be in effect. I'm speculating that there might be some Texas High School broadcasting company that pays for rights to certain games that basically is like when games are 'blacked out' for NFL, etc Purely speculation on my part. thanks again I'm going to the game myself, but trying to fix my 93 yr old mom up so she can watch. She's an AVID Png fan since the 60's. UPDATE - just heard from a very reliable source that NDN press broadcast is going to be on You tube.

  9. I’m looking forward to offensive running on all cylinders & get to the point were we where at vs Franklin. If we start doing that then regional finals is a strong possibility. like I’ve said before, Offensively we should strive for that game as a baseline

  11. I’m finally happy with the Offense. Good play calling, good passing, good catching, good running & as always dominant defense. Offense met expectations.

  18. Records, Players, Coaches all get thrown into the mix on this one. Which defense wants this game more, who's offense can control & not turn over the football, will be the keys to victory. I am ready for some MCM football. PNG HAS A SPECILA SPIRIT, PASS IT ON!!! PNG proudly accepts football fans of all types!!!🏈🤗

  19. Most complete game I've seen from the Cats all season and all 3 phases showed up and made a statement. Coaches absolutely put it away in the first Q with some impressive play calls so props to the guys wearing the headsets. Clearly had the guys focused coming off the bye week and kept the foot on the gas most of the game. I really like the incorporation of #4 to come in as a wildcat QB, but he also got some snaps in the running back position and performed well. Defense pursued well and set the edge most of the night and made it tough for AP to get anything going. Good win for the Bobcats!

Do you agree this is almost identical to China—which we complain gives their companies an unfair advantage—and opens the door for future Administrations to blur the lines even more between private business and government intervention? Can you at least admit it’s a far departure from the free market system this country was founded on? Every business the Administration has taken an equity stake in has now—by default—become ‘Too Big to Fail.’ Any of their free market competitors in the U.S. have become expendable to preserve the equity stakes.

  29. I have no doubt that the North Shore defense will slow the King offense down. This game in my opinion is comes down to the King defense making the North Shore offense turn the ball over.

  30. I always listen live even when im there. Mainly complaints earlier in the season when he was outside. He recently improved the mic quality and used software to cancel the background noise. The HF game was much better. Barely heard the band and my friends cowbell standing right next to him. Really I'm not pleased that the school doesn't have their own free broadcast. Look at PNG or PAM for example. Or even Liberty or La Porte. All that press box for VIPs is ridiculous. I know they have capabilities and Mustang Broadcast Network working cameras at the game. But where's the stream? It's on the scoreboard. Might be used by Hudl too. Although nobody wants to pay to watch 3½ quarters like what happened few weeks ago at Bay City. Mustang Nation deserves better. No, we deserve the best. Last year SETXsports and Aaron Ward followed the Stangs all the way to At&t. He did a great job in the playoffs. Idk the process behind the scenes with the contracts and such. But I wish the audio broadcast would've stayed here. I also think the schools doesnt really care because they allow Facebook live every week.
