  1. Howdy from Liberty Hill ! Come over to talk to you fine people from the East of our great state of Texas . Enjoyed the talks last yr . Reading on here this year looks like y'all done kicked the scat out of us before the young men have evern taken the field . I understand what LH is up against but the boys like to play football and win or lose that doesn't change from year to year . It's been a tuff yr for the Panthers injury wise but they got some players back just in time to run the table over here in region 4 . Yeah the defense is had to grow up a lot this yr . They getting better but having said that it's going to be a tuff row to hoe this week . But here's to a gd game for both teams with no injuries . For sure the winner of this game it's going to need all hands on deck for the big game and for sure I'll be pulling for the winner either way our game turns out . Sorry for the long post , I'll try to keep future post shorter .... LHFan80

  8. I believe NDN Press reached over 7k online for this past week may have been 7.8k in the 4th. Many were from other areas. SOC, Huntsville, and people from all SETX schools for the most part. Even some special viewers like the old PNG coaches and historians. Wade Phillips was at the game rooting for his alma mater.

  11. Maybe the committee says screw it and goes with an 8 team playoff now. No one would be mad at that

  12. Don’t let a small defensive front for LH fool you . WOS was smaller than many of their opponents during the Cornell Thompson years. But they were well conditioned , well coached and most of all very quick and agile . Speed and ability are king in HS football . .

  14. It is widely beloved among the pundits that had that happened, Texas would have been the 1 seed. for what it’s worth, if they do leave it out FSU and put in Bama, Texas will be favored against Washington. This scares me a bit because people have underestimated the Huskies all season. But IF that’s the case and IF Texas were to win that game, it would set up either a rematch against Bama OR a Texas/Michigan matchup. Either way, two top 5 all time programs playing in Houston for all the marbles. Talk about printing money. It’s also a network’s opposite of dry dream.

  15. Gee, you arguing against Texas getting in……will wonders never cease.

  16. Incorrect. This is their best argument [Hidden Content] Bama is playing way better. I was super impressed with them winning on a P for K against the powerhouse Auburn team that got boat raced by a team that was FCS a couple of years ago the week before. And you do realize Georgia’s best win is also FSU’s best win? Texas also did what none of you SEC chumps could do. Win in Tuscaloosa (by 2 scores no less). But, but it was week 2 is the weak argument of someone who hangs banners for being undefeated against Abilene Christian and Texas State the last few years….

  20. It's simple. Michigan and Washington. Then have Bama, Georgia, FSU and tu AD's have a battle royal for the other two spots.

  21. Concerning some of the comments earlier about how the internet, etc is keeping fans away, I understood that the Indian press had over 6000 listening in last night.

  25. Some stats from that WO-S/HF game. Mustangs committed 40 fouls in the game (had 4 players foul out). There were a total of 68 fouls called in this game. HF was 31 of 51 at FT line. WO-S was 19/34 from the FT line. A total of 85 FT's shot in this game. (50/85) Rebounding was pretty even. HF 48 rebounds, WO-S 42. Turnovers: HF had 23, WO-S 28 Key point: HF played without two of their best players. Seastrunk and Pitre did not suit up. Out with injuries.

  26. Doing my best to get scores from these tournaments but I had a family function to attend yesterday (I had to cook for it all) and have not been able to gather scores and get them posted. I will try to catch up today and post results. I will have next week's schedule posted later today. Again, my apologies.

  27. SETX teams are accustomed to be playing in heat, humidity, rain, refinery and paper mill odors, plant explosions, hurricanes, and heavy fog. But I think they like it at NRG and Jerry World just fine. The Indians have had a tough couple of games for the past 2 weeks, but I think they'll be ok against LH as far as the off and def lines are concerned, and the DBs and LBs as well.

  28. Now they need to matchup Georgia, Ohio St, FSU, and Oregon in 2 other bowls.

  29. And they arguably played the toughest schedule in the country. But that doesn’t jive with platitudes like, the SEC is the best!

  30. And they did a great job , better than the TexanLive feed which we lost several times and the announcers weren’t the best. Kudos to those kids on ndnpress 👏👏

  31. To be fair, after what I saw tonight, I’d give them a fair shot against FSU as well.

  32. I’m just glad Texas beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. If that had been a win against A&M or LSU on Sept. 9 then Texas isn’t being considered for the playoff at all right now.

  33. Louisville lost last week to a team that went 3-5 in the SEC. I agree with what you said on a later post, except there are 7 deserving teams.

  34. Ohio State can beat any team in the country and would be favored by 14 over FSU. No one is talking about them.

  35. The team that Texas beat today to win the Big 12 lost to UCF by 42 points and South Alabama by 26. How much weight is that conference title since they didn’t have to play Oklahoma? How bad was that conference?

  41. Guys, I hate to break it to y’all, but there was a huge mass of PN-G fans watching the game while standing on the concourse between the upper and lower levels behind the top row of the bottom section. A few dozen empty seats on extreme ends of the stadium does not equate to fans not in the stands. The PN-G radio crew confirmed the sell-out at CE King with stadium staff in the pressbox. There were also small pockets of PN-G fans who sat on the visitor’s side with Lake Creek because they were redirected there by stadium staff after the home side sold out. By the way, while we’re at it, the reason we’re playing at Berry Center next week is because Liberty Hill’s head coach refused to agree to anything larger and was willing to force a coin flip between any site chosen by PN-G and Liberty Hill’s home stadium. We didn’t want to risk it. And I have that directly from someone who was involved in the negotiations.

  42. I think one of those seats ended up being mine. Just before the half I was in line at the concession stand for probably 15 minutes, and there must have been 100 people in line with me, and probably 100-200 or so more just milling around or standing watching from the covered area behind the lower deck. In fact I stood up in that area behind the lower deck for much of the first half, because I couldn't see well from where I was on the upper deck. After the half I found a couple of seats over on the end at the 5 or 10 yard line. The NRG venue sure was nice last night, with the live video and replays on the scoreboards. But I'll buy tickets for next Friday, at this so-called small stadium, even if we sit on the LH side.

  47. I want to share a story from last year. After the game, my folks and I went to the Whiskey Cake in Katy for a very late dinner. I had driven in from Leander that afternoon and they had left PN-G late due to work. Nobody’d had the time to eat beforehand. There was a family in the restaurant from Liberty Hill sitting a few tables down from us. They had a little girl with them, maybe seven or eight years old, and an older boy who appeared to be late middle school or early high school age. I figured he was a player on the freshman team. That little girl realized we were from PN-G and gave us the evil eye for the entire dinner. I’m talking a full hour of this girl glaring at us from across the dining area, non-stop. You could feel the heat coming off this girl’s gaze. I had to fight not to crack up all night because every time I’d look over to my left, I had the possessed girl’s hellish stare from the exorcism movie looking straight back at me. You could tell the PN-G crowd, the War Chant and Cherokee had driven this poor girl insane that night. Her parents picked up on what was going on and came over to talk to us after they finished their meal. Couldn’t have been nicer folks. Wished us luck in the championship, complimented the fan base - just nice, small town people. I told them I lived just down the road in Leander and drove in for the game. Even for a fan base like Liberty Hill’s that generally travels well, you could tell they were shocked that out-of-town alumni would make a drive like that to see the Indians play. This is the game where our fan base earned the “rabid” label online last year. Every time I think about that, I think about that ferocious glare from that little girl. I have a feeling I’m gonna feel it coming across the field at me again this year. Scalp ‘em!
