  2. Thanks for all the prayers. Last I heard he had regained feeling below the waist. Still building strength to walk on his own. He also had a special surprise as some of the Houston Texans visited Texas Children's Hospital on Halloween. [Hidden Content]

  4. Very interested in the Freshman Phenom Macie Bryant. She is one of the top pitchers in the USA in the class of 2027.

  6. Very true. But what I ve mentioned has been in the works for awhile i know the border has been a mess here lately but we should’ve been rejecting entry to certain people a long time ago. These college students are clueless and universities have no standards

  7. The most dangerous game of the 4 will be BH versus Lancaster. Lancaster is finally healthy and rolling. Of all the teams in your district, BH is the one that is built to beat them. But BH is going to have to play a solid and consistent game to put them away. I see BH winning by 14-21. If they let Lancaster hang around or have trouble with Lancaster's talent, it could be interesting. The only thing that could change that is if Lufkin pulls the upset tonight which would surprise me.

  8. BH having to go through a very tough Foster team could play to their advantage. They had to put together a complete match to win and are battle-tested. Friendswood, on the other hand, drew a significantly weaker Randle squad that got handled by Foster twice during their district play.

  9. Carl Padilla, the Godfather of Texas high school football and creator of the Padilla Poll, is predicting 6A cutoff number to be 2265 based on the fact that 248 schools have turned in numbers greater than that number. This will mean that La Porte will remain 5A DI and West Brook and United will drop to 5A DI.

    Snapshot Numbers

Splendora is still a haul. Around 1:40 or more from Mid-County depending on traffic.

  24. After watching the district play out this year I’ll give my non-biased opinion. Barbers Hill can make it 3 rounds for sure because they are the most complete when healthy. PAM has a lot of talent but something is missing. You can’t come out struggle with teams you should dominate and then turn on the switch. They get off to that signature slow start in the playoffs, it could be over before you know it. LaPorte is scrappy, tricky, and doesn’t back down so it depends on their matchup, but a disciplined defense that stays home could give them fits. Then it’s whoever faces Longview(Porter), you guys had a good season! Good luck to all and don’t take it personal, is just an opinion. 2-2 maybe 1-3.

  25. On a Friday it’s K-Dan’s hands down. Bullfish is pretty good too. That might be the better option tonight if it’s not too busy.

    Jasper at Silsbee

I am the Mayor of Silsbee..... I am retired now after running the newspaper in Silsbee for over 30 years and another 18 years or so in other locations in Colorado and Nebraska. Anderson Land, the Mayor of Jasper, and is also a very familiar voice on KJAS, called this week with a friendly wager that if Silsbee loses I will have to wear a Jasper Bulldog T-Shirt to the next Silsbee council meeting and he will wear a Silsbee Tiger shirt if Jasper loses. I am pretty confident that this is Silsbee's year so I jumped on the proposition. I've never worn that wanna be maroon color that Jasper holds so dear. The thought of it is well "revolting". At any rate it is always fun to have our friends from Jasper County in for a visit and to be able to trade a few barbs with them. I'm looking for a great game Friday night.

  28. A couple of Bellville superlatives… Bellville has 3 RBs that have rushed over 1000 yards this season… two of which are Juniors. Not bad for almost an all sophomore offensive line. Also if Bellville wins Friday night that will be 3 straight regular seasons without a loss. Bellville is 3-2 in the playoffs the last two seasons so we gotta play better in the playoffs not losing game your predicted to win.

  29. @Stangfan#1 I didn't forget WOS @ HJ Trying to get some better matchups. Plus WOS put me behind with 5 losses this year. I'll have them next week vs Bellville. And yes I'll pick them again.

Another test for the dogs. I think they bounce back from a dismal game last week. Inconsistency has plagued this young team all year. It's time for the dogs to show up and end the regular season with a bang. Dogs by 7.

  31. I mean, who else are they hurting? A team with that level of talent that is currently undefeated shouldn’t be racking up unsportsmanlike penalties. It’s a sign of a team that lacks discipline and character… both of which will be needed for the six playoff games. My guess is they’ll hit some adversity in week three or four and implode. Serious white guy take… Most teams wish that they had the potential that Silsbee squanders on an annual basis. On talent alone Silsbee should lead their series with West Orange over the last thirty years. But don’t take my word for it… the Silsbee faithful will argue all day long that Patrick Reed was a far better qb than the mighty Jack Dallas. But Jack played in three state championship games and Reed was more of a ringmaster than a quarterback.

  32. This is just my opinion… it’s not something that a coach can fix. It’s a culture issue at this point. They enjoy the reputation of being classless because the level of talent usually gets them a win despite the played out routine. Nobody else glossed them “Smoketown.” They did that for themselves. Athleticism kept them in the game against Cuero last year, despite the unsportsmanlike behavior and lack of coaching adjustments. Instead of being nine games into the season and refining the behavior that racks up hundred and hundreds of penalty yards, it seems like they’re feeling themselves abs ramping it up, if anything. But it’s nothing new… it’s been going on for years. So that’s the question for Silsbee- fans, players, future players, coaches… “when are y’all going to see that you’ll never win it all with that crappy culture?” Fifteen yards and an automatic first down hurts a lot more than sending somebody to the line for two free throws in a game that’s already out of hand.
