I've been in this group a very long time. I'm very impressed a subject so many people are passionate about has remained a somewhat civil discussion. 10 years ago this would of had half the posters in time outs.....lol

Actually we’re debating for the rights of the unborn child. The woman can make her choice prior to participating in sexual relations, but the unborn child has no one supporting his/her rights, nor any choice in the matter. Others decide if the unborn child will live or be slaughtered. Their bodies torn apart and parts sold like a piece of cattle.

And you probably think murder is atrocious. If so, you can understand why anti-abortionist find abortion so repugnant, we see it as murder. Whether you’re pro or anti, that explanation should at least show why those anti-abortion or so adamant about it. To the pro-abortionist it’s a matter of “rights”, serious enough in it’s own respect, but murder tops it. I post this not to change your opinion but simply to show why those of us in the anti group feel as strongly as we do.

Nope, they are still guilty of the crime they've commented. Yes, God will forgive them for their sins if they truly ask Him and they will enter the kingdom of heaven, but they still will pay for the consequences of their actions. Which in a death penalty case, he/she will and should be put to death.

The same people complaining about abortions are the same ones complaining about people having kids for the government handouts. Literally the poor (and particularly the minority poor) just can't catch a break from the right.

Where do the left get the idea that those against abortion don't care about the kids after they're born? That's a bunch of BS. I get it that there are children not wanted, neglected and not loved, but that has nothing to do whether or not someone is for or against abortion. I think that's just a made up excuse to kill a unwanted baby.

Let me throw this out for thought. Govt says woman has a right for an abortion. Opposition says, if you have the right to an abortion, then the Govt has the right to tie your tubes and prevent further pregnancies and abortions. What say you?

You can argue and say that I'm pro-choice all you want, but the truth is: I'm pro-life. Their lives. Women's lives. You don't get to pick and choose which scenarios should be accepted. It's not about which stories you don't agree with. It's about fighting for the women in the stories that you do agree with and the CHOICE that was made. Women's rights are meant to protect ALL women, regardless of their situation! Overturning Roe does not stop abortions, it stops SAFE abortions! Abortion is healthcare. Like I stated above, I really don't have a side. I see both. I don't think this law should be broad stroked. Should be fine point. I don't agree with all abortions but I don't agree with anti abortion. It's a tough decision.

Honestly, that’s a sticking point for some. I get it. But I can tell you that if my wife was raped and became pregnant, she would have the baby and either put it up for adoption or possibly even keep it. She would have my support either way. It’s a fair question though.

If you believe life begins at conception, why would you want Planned Parenthood sites operational. I must assume this concept is too complex for you to comprehend. The pro-life crowd, along with many, many, many, many others, agree that SNAP (food stamps program) is corrupt and rife with fraudulent and/or ineligible recipients. The program should be overhauled. I agree we are getting closer to a swing state. I disagree with abortion, but I think there are times it should be an option, rape, medical issues, etc. I think that option should be closer to conception than delivery though. However, this particular issue is not for or against abortion itself, but that the SC should not decide it as a constitutional issue. That I agree with.

I agree that adoption is tough. but the types of adoption you're talking about doesn't really do a whole lot to help with the problem. go through the state and take some kids that are living in poverty, that have been abused, that have been forgotten. The majority of folks trying to adopt are trying to get a newborn, same-race child with no issues and no strings attached. That becomes more a business deal than actually helping with our country's overwhelming unwanted children crisis. I wholeheartedly agree that it should be a lot easier though, and it should be a lot more affordable.

Interesting observation. There was a documented drop in violent crime in the 1990s. [Hidden Content] Do any of y'all wonder if the drop in violent crime that came roughly 18 years after Roe v Wade had a lot more to do with a generation of unwanted kids who never became criminals because they were aborted? Those women who don't want to give birth won't change gears and become good moms because we force them to go through with their child birth.

Don’t lump me in with the “You Guys”. I have a bigger problem with Corporate Welfare and Cronyism. My brother and his wife tried to adopt 3 times due to the fact they could not have children. All 3 times the adoption fell thru because the mother changed her mind at the last minute after having the opportunity to hold the own child in their arms. It’s not as easy as you think to adopt a child not to mention the ungodly red tape you have to go through. The list of parents waiting to adopt is forever long. I say cut the bureaucracy for these parents an get the unwanted kids into these loving homes of parents wanting kids.

Yeah, but they also expected there to be a separation of church and state. Nobody wanted a "church of England" over here. The whole thing is you have to find a balance. Christians believe in paying tithes. Should the government seize 10% of your gross income to give to churches? It's ordered in the Bible, after all. Slavery was illegal right up until it wasn't. It took the 13th Amendment, not the Civil War to finally end the practice in the US. It would be really simple to outlaw abortion through the same procedure- A constitutional Amendment banning abortion or allowing it... except neither side has the votes to do so... never have, never will.

I don't see why the transfer deal is such a big deal in HS. If a kid wants to go to a different school and the parents move or pay the out of district fee if it's open enrollment, just let the kid go.

Well buddy I have adopted one into my house and I also have 4 of my own kids. i take care of all them on one income….. The cycle will never end because we bail adults out of the responsibility. Since your all for snuffing life out. Sit down with your kids and look them in the eye and tell them your ok with killing babies. Can you do that? With your mindset you will get a reaction from child that you will dislike. Children have a way to answering life’s problems in a very pure way. do you value life at all….yours, your parents, your children, your students? also since you want to blame Christians for things….if I’m not mistaken you’ve mention that your wife and kids go to church…..are they part of that group you blame too. how many reasons or excuses can one come up with as well as not be hypocritical to try to validate the killing of innocent pure life?

My humble opinion is that our state is getting closer and closer to a swing state, and the right isn't going to get away with doing extreme conservative right things for very long, even if the SC is (for the moment) stacked with conservative justices. It's also true that all the guys on here backslapping over this would be losing their mind if the roles were reversed and a bunch of liberal justices were setting liberal precedents that weren't representative of the country's beliefs as a whole.

sure thing. when fine folks such as yourself start stepping up and taking care of these unwanted kids after they're born I'll reconsider. the right's lack of support of poor children and children in the system shows who THEY are. I've adopted two of those kids into my house. What have YOU done to help, apart from advocating that they be born?

I just don't think that occurrence happens enough to not consider the millions of abortions that happen as a method of birth control. I’m sure we could come up with all kinds of scenarios that are minuscule to the number of children killed for convenience.

Just watched a liberal lady whining about women should have a choice. Pardon me lady, but you can make the choice prior to conception. If a woman doesn’t wish to have a baby she can take a pill to prevent pregnancy, similar to people having to get a vaccine to keep their job. They can get their tubes tied. Force their partner to wear a rubber. And gasp, abstinence.
