I do not put a lot of stock into the Jasper/Diboll matchup. You sleep on Jasper and it could be a nightmare.

Foster is a fantastic kid. He is a good teammate and one of those kids who goes out and competes hard, no matter the score, or the opponent. That being said, this whole thread is very unfair to him.

Ray Charles can read the fact that I have talked about most of the football team by name and position in 3 different languages. Have patience; I will get to him if I have not already. You need to stop being such a small person and grow up. Sometimes, we are so busy patting ourselves on the back we don't give others a chance. Some of the best fathers, mother, neighbors, in world are the worst coaches. I talk about the older kids because they have been with the program long enough to have done more positive than negative, more good than bad, been more dependable than disappointing. Remember, there is only a few vertebrae between a pat on the back and a kick in the butt; both have value. For athletes to get better, they need to be coached according to the plan that the coach has prepared with him in mind. At the end of 4 years you will be proud of what he has become. Let the coaches coach him and you support the plan. That is how it has always worked best. If I have an investment in a kid, I will brag on his ass when I get ready. So, please don't bother me when I brag on Rick Davis. Friday night will be a night to remember, y EC lo va a pagar.

To answer the question to the thread post, no. Coach Peevey is a stand up guy, with morals, and ethics. I believe if asked, he would simply say they play to win the game, regardless of the opponent in front of them, regardless of which division the Bruins are in. I believe they will go to DP with the game plan on doing whatever is necessary to beat the Deer. So, basically the same plan they've had since the start of district, in doing just enough to win. Beat Sterling in week 11, and let the cards fall where they may. Just my .02

Yes, you are right... "The goal IS to win state". You should try to win every single game. But one of the most important parts of HS Athletics is to teach a few life lessons regarding honesty, character, hard work and integrity along the way. You should try to win every single time you play. You should try to do your best every time you play. You should work your a** off everyday to develop yourself into the best you can be ( that's Coaches/Players/Administrators/Program ). If you intentionally quit on a game to lose for a "better match up" that is absolute cowardice. So, you only wanna play if your think you can win. You only wanna play if you're matched evenly, you only wanna play if they have the same amount of players as you. Well I got news for you... That is NOT how life works. You can't always even the odds so you have a better chance of success. You can't just only "play" if you think you can win. I will say it again, and I'll be done with this... If you lose on purpose ( easier opponent, better match up, etc. ) you are a COWARD.

coming from watching my sons hudl, your players are dirty I BLATANTLY watched your sorry defense twist our running backs leg while the play was over and watched the ref do nothing about it, and thats just one occasion, all Im saying is Jasper is not a bad team, and for our toughness I promise you wont find a team tougher, and you can take that to the bank. Im sure everyone here is in agreeance that Jasper is not a sorry team, but I guess you can watch from the stands during the playoffs since your team failed to make the playoffs once again, maybe come to watch Diboll too;)

I’m not buying it.... Jasper is a soft team. Let’s look at who they’ve played. BC (1-6) We stink LiCk’eM (5-2) but those are wins over terrible teams Diboll (3A that hurt Jasper’s feelings) Lamarque (4-4) but not a quality win Shepherd (2-6) Huntington (1-7) Jasper will win their horrible district after playing all of the cupcakes that Barbrady schedules for non-district, then they’ll be shocked when they get sent home by the first semi-decent team they face in the playoffs. BC isn’t a good team... I’ll admit it. BUT JASPER HASN’T GOTTEN ANY DEEPER THAN BC IN THE PLAYOFFS SINCE WE SHUT YALL OUT IN THE SECOND ROUND IN 2005. We can win if nobody else believes it. We can never succeed if we don't believe in ourselves. We can, will, and we must win. We will not wait to live our dream. Championship is happening now. Right, but there is a clear advantage. It’s not a perfect correlation. But it’s kind of odd that a 4a school with 1000 kids can’t play a 6a school with a 1200 kids more, but a 6a school with 2300 CAN play a school with 4000 more. And while the starting 22 is all that matters, the odds of having a good player goes up with the number of kids. So even if the smaller school might be better than a big school in certain isolated cases, the big school still starts out with an immediate and obvious advantage. But you’re right that there are exceptions.
