  1. Might depend on Coach’s, and the teams, past record, and his pay. Westerberg, at Barbers Hill was getting some bad post on here right off the bat. Now, not so much. Fans of a bad program will be more tolerant. You get named HC at WOS or Carthage, you better come out of the gate kicking booty. There’s a lot of variables.

  2. I think, given your grammar, that you are the last one to lecture someone on reading comprehension or the English language.

  3. Your response might be because you follow a tradition rich school. Take a team like Huntington. Heck, a Coach that could just get a winning record for several years, could be Mayor (King) of that town. 😂😂😂

  4. Your previous post was talking about points and offense they’ve put up. This year they are 4-4 scoring 182 points and giving up 194. Last year they were 5-3 and scored 207 and gave up 128. One of those wins was a forfeit to Sabine pass. So let’s say they were 4-3. so the points per game was higher. was the community support for day nonexistent from day one?

  5. Banks a grown man!! Young Bryce will need another offseason before he ready to line up against Banks 😂😂😂 The problem will be Zach Evans. Who's gonna tackle him 😂

  6. I read an interview with Adrian Peterson... He was in Palestine right after CT left. He mentioned that CT had kinda said that kids in Palestine couldn't handle the "Mustang Way" and that had a big impact on pushing Peterson to achieve. It's tough, man... kids have to be compliant with the program and if the kids have never been compliant (and possibly have non-compliant role models around the house), it's hard to coach 'em up. But you're right... winning fixes lots of that stuff.

  8. You're probably right. But the 1/2 that stayed would end up making a helluva team. Then once the winning begins, the players will come...

  11. @NetCat @WH34I heard they were sitting the QB and all the basketball guys out. They should still be able to get the W even with sitting out most of the kids I think.

  12. For whatever it's worth, there are several middle class families that attend BU. I'd venture to say it's about even at WB. Believe it or not, many middle class families just refuse to move or live in the west end. I personally know MANY of those families personally. So I'm not buying that wealthy thing too much...

  13. What’s the average salary of a Newton household versus a Beaumont household? I know it would be convenient to try and blame “privilege” again, but you’re wasting your time. It’s coaching and parenting primarily in my opinion. Definitely not a talent issue.

  14. Well, anything can happen. Jakobi Holland will be back for this game, which helps the running game. But, we've got to get Anderson more involved on the offense. The only chance Brook has is to simply outscore NS. I know, I know, it sounds crazy. But, our defense will not keep them from scoring. So, we've got to throw the whole kitchen at them, on offense, and hope we bust some big plays for scores.

  15. I see what you're saying. Ozen, Central, and United has dominated WB in basketball, but no one dismisses football. People on this side of town actually care about winning and beating them. Apparently, more emphasis is placed in football on the West End.

  16. Maybe they’re more interested in basketball on that side of town. I don’t know for sure but I don’t think WB could compete with the Ozens and Centrals or United so it’s probably not an athleticism problem.

  17. Fine we’ll take LCM, BC and Lumberton next year. It would be nice to have some rivals that we can beat year in and year out. This will probably be our last time playing Ned in district so you can have them all to yourselves. Same goes for PNG like you said, it’s time to move on. I’ll take DC chances and playoff runs over faux rivalries anyway.

  18. Know why they call Cornell Coach T, he can defend the Slot-T, Wing-T, Power-T, Double Wing-T, Balanced - T, Unbalanced-T, Split-T, Conventional-T, and loves a good T-Bone!!

  19. If BC wins the refs will be blamed and the UIL will get phone calls. That's my prediction.

  20. Agree completely. Both do really great job with their kids and also both seem really invested in their kids.

  21. Oh yea, boudin too. Dad would get 10 lbs of each for holidays. Last year we tried Jack's pack it in bmt. It wasn't too bad. But not like Nick's.

  22. Seems to me like there might be an upperclassmen or two getting to play this year that didn't for the previous coach. We'll see how much "community support" they continue having after a loss to Lovelady this week, a butt kicking by Grapeland next week, and then a total embarrassment by Mart the week after. And then after all of the seniors graduate when the coach heads for greener pastures.

  23. As soon as the parents get on board. If the expectation is being set and reinforced at home, it will transfer over to the program.

  24. Maybe not. An earlier poster alluded to Vidor being 80 below 5A at end of 2018. Being a handful over will suck like a Hoover vacuum. Four A has been good for Ltown, but not so good for Livingston. Probably be a good fit for Vidor.

    West Hardin at Lovelady

It pains me to say this but West Hardin might make this a good ball game. Play smart and they have a chance. Cut out dumb penalties like blocking in the back on long touchdown runs when the guy has absolutely no shot at making the play.

  30. Ahhhhhh, I had not heard that. Regardless, I dont think his playing would change the outcome of the game. So, probably best to just save him for the playoffs, and really utilize him for a deep playoff run.

  35. Started a true 5 Guard lineup but all of them could defend. Jalin Hart and Brandon Etienne, who both knew how to put the ball in the basket, rounded out the starting 5 with the guys you listed above. Brandon Green used to show up to AAU practices with a weight vest on under his hoodie. Wasn’t fun being guarded by him.

  37. I believe snapshot day is this Friday, October 25. I'm sure we can find out the number pretty quickly. UIL will meet in February and that's when will know where we are.

  38. We have a few that can go.....And can take it to the house quickly. We are far from a great football team but seem to be getting a little better. My concern is ya'll controlling the clock and cramming it down our throats.

  39. Always look forward to playing Vidor. Here's to hoping yall's enrollment increases and we can continue to compete. Can't get a handle on my Bulldogs this year, don't really know what to expect week to week. I'm in the camp that says we have some great skill guys, though some would say different. Should be another good one.

  44. Was a good game. EC has lots of speed in the backfield with Sheldon and Caesar. Defense is fast and swarm to the ball. Freshman QB does a ok job throwing the ball. Field goal kicker is very good. A few big kids on the o line. Coaching is off the chain but that’s to be expected

  45. The new coach inherited a group of mostly upperclassmen. You can dislike a guy all you want, but to discredit what he did for the kids while he was there is just showing ignorance mixed with being butthurt. If the current coach is some guru, then WH will go farther than 1 and done in the playoffs.

  46. Coach Foster at Big Sandy deserves some credit. He always seems to get the most out of the group he has, and is never afraid to play up in competition.

  48. Woodville not being preseason #1 is a farce. They return 4 of 5 starters and 11 of 12 varsity players from a state runner up team. HJ should be #2 Silsbee is not a top 10 team.
