West Brook looks fine to me. They're playing schools with 1000-1500 more kids to pull from. Imagine if PNG, Nederland and PAM just combined teams. And they're winning. It's an accomplishment and they'll look better once they play schools closer to their size in the playoffs. They're ranked appropriately and if they keep it close to decent against North Shore they won't fall too far in the rankings. NS makes everyone look bad.

The kids have nothing to do with the non district schedule. Coaches on both sides want competitive games so they look for qualities that will help them come district and hopefully beyond. Sometimes you think it's going to be competitive and you're just a little better than you thought you would be and the other teams are not as good as you thought. Two years ago, the Splendora non district schedule looked competitive but they ended up with the best team in their school history. Their program is on the upswing and I'm happy for them. The only thing that matters is they won their first district game and they move on towards their goal of making a playoff run.

Splendora beats Liberty on a last second FG. Liberty rolls Livingston. Popular opinion on the board says Liberty is not a playoff team. So if you think Splendora is a playoff contender then yes, other than HHHS, the district is weeeeeaaaaaakkkk. (Not that I believe a word of that but it was fun to type)

Yes, but just to be clear, you're outlook on last years team at this point in the season mirrors this years outlook and you see hiw that turned out. Get the win and move on and keep improving. When I look at WB games, I know their weaknesses and I see if they are improving on it every game. Now that we've played them, I'm on board and hope they do well..

Finally, you finish with, “and they have a horrible defense and way too many turnovers on offense.” Now you’ve already conceded that Lumberton is gonna win in the same fashion as their Evadale and Kirbyville - complete blowouts. Ever night EC is going to see the same kind of effort. This is a very balanced district with outstanding coaching staffs; stay on your "A GAME".

Huntington has a nice selection. Chick-Fil-A sandwiches (don’t know how they keep them hot but they do). Fries, nachos, Fritos pie, and corn dogs are good. Usually a group selling sausage on a stick or Ribeye sandwiches...Pretzels gets a thumbs up.....If your the type to eat out before the game Deans or Poppa’s Pit is always good.

When a team ranked higher than you loses (Austin Westlake), and you get jumped by a lower ranking team (Converse Judson), one can only assume its because West Brook is simply doing just enough to win, and lacks a killer mentality that would allow you to blow teams out, instead of winning by 10. Oh well, these boys are either going to learn to play tougher, or they're going to get beat. Period.

Kids can stay in high school up to 21 I have heard. They are usually special education cases but cant play sports that long. Playing high school sports at 20 is completely unfair!
