  1. Today
  2. The ball hit in front of the plate and the 3rd based umpire judged that the ball passes over rhe bag thus making it a fair ball. Where it lands after passing the bag dies not matter. The following is the wording you would find in the MLB rule book. Batted balls that first contact the field between home plate and first or third base are considered fair if they subsequently bounce over or directly contact either base, or otherwise pass either base while in fair territory. Was pleased to see the score and highlights this morning!
  3. Saw this report on Newton vs. Kirbyville. Gonna go out on a limb and say Newton will be the best team in the area this year other than WO-S. In the scrimmage the Eagles scored 5 times through the air and twice on the ground while also causing multiple turnovers on defense. The teams then played a quarter of game situation where Newton had two pick sixes and wound up scoring 30 to Kirbyville's 0.
  4. Arlington loses. Houston now leads by 3.
  5. Well its a benefit to the football team...hate to break it to you but those baseball parents are also football parents at Nederland
  6. I loved watching Munoz stomping off the field. Lol
  7. That's correct. Key hit by Varsho with two strikes and two outs to tie it up.
  8. Man, what a shot. Hit the train tracks. That was one I could have given up on, but I’m glad I stayed. I could be wrong, but I think we scored 4 runs with 2 outs.
  9. Just wow this one is hard to believe. Arlimgton brhind 4-3 in 7th Walker it Home
  10. Astros score 5 in bottom of 10th and win 10-7. Walker with game winning 3 run homer. Astros now lead Arlington by 2.5 (looks like it will be 3) and lead Seattle by 6.
  11. I've heard jv did good too and did we score any on the varsity side of things?
  12. You can rest assured that these 3 pitchers will cost you wins more times than not Javier, King, and Abreu
  13. La Porte 2-0 over Sterling, 2-0 over Ball, and 2-0 over Sam Rayburn. They weren’t bad last year. Not near BH level. But, 26-14. They appear to be a bit better this year so far.
  14. If you are speaking about Silsbee, I don't think anyone has them winning district. I certainly do not.
  15. Silsbee 4 to 1.5 when I left They always have a chance to make a run. Skill positions look good and the supporting cast should rise to the occasion. But cant see them winning district this season. Good luck to both
  16. South Houston player move didnt happen until the school year ended and we had already published
  17. The post was less about HD and more about Tarkington’s improvement. Didn’t matter who they played the past couple years, they got embarrassed.
  18. You’re proving my point. Elon would be killed. That’s how deep we are. It’s virtually impossible for everyone to be onboard with across the board cuts needed. We have two parties that battle over every stupid thing and none want to reduce spending.
  19. It’s Hull Daisetta. Everyone looks good against them.
  20. Any one at Hemphill Evadale scrimmage?
  21. I’m sure the SoHo coach was counting on him to help build his program back up a little at the 5A level. The transfer must have happened late because he was still listed at SoHo when y’all’s magazine previews came out, and y’all already knew about the LP Edge player when he wasn’t approved until June timeframe. I guess what irks me about the LP player is the coaching tie. You’d think a former DC—who was given a big chance at LP—would go out of his way to discourage a former player from transferring to play for him at another school. As I said before, a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ if nothing else. Not sure that was the case. I guess I’m naive that way.
  22. Watched the Tarkington-Hull Daisetta scrimmage tonight. First look at the new Longhorns. New offensive and defensive schemes, lots of passing by the Horns offense. Scored each time they touched the ball. HD was not able to move the ball much against our defense. Very impressed by this coaching staff, they have given these boys the confidence they lacked the past few years. Definitely not gonna be the Tarkington everyone is used to seeing.
  23. Witnessed first hand last year lcms Qb1 broke his thumb before the season.
  24. Me also. I guess because it went over the bag or it hit the ground infront of the batter before going over the bag.
