  2. With my district game discussion analysis I need to be careful to speak Lufkin each time when talking about the Panthers, because we are also LP (Lufkin Panthers) and La Porte is also LP. Things will be interesting when the two play at the end of district play with the LP LP LP LP stuff on both sides. It is interesting to sit here in Lufkin and read all the SETX fan analysis and predictions for 9-5A DI. I know many don't know a lot about Lufkin and that is okay, your not suppose to I guess. It's always interesting to read about the transfers to programs, Lufkin doesn't get many transfers, sometimes a kid from a 2A or 3A school will come in, the program is pretty much Lufkin kids. I know there were some in the SETX did not want Lufkin in this district, then again when the UIL tried to put Lufkin way out in a district near Cleburne and Burleson, that was unacceptable too. Who wants to travel 8 hour round trips to play district games, plus those the sub-varsity trips on Thursday?? No one here wanted that and none of those teams there wanted to come to Lufkin. The same thought probably exist for most SETX teams and fans coming up to Lufkin. The UIL has no easy job finding proper placement for the Panthers, but for as long as I can remember there's lots of travel involved no matter where we land, and if you didn't know, there are only two 5A DI schools in all of East Texas, Lufkin and Tyler High, only two 6A schools, Longview and Tyler Legacy, all three of those schools must travel to the Metroplex for district games. Lufkin has been in 6 different combinations of 5A and 6A districts the last 20+ years, either up North w/ (North and West Mesquite/Forney/McKinney North/Lancaster/Longview/Tyler, Ennis, Corsicana, Lindale, Jacksonville, Whitehouse) or South (THW, Conroe/Waller/West Brook/ Mongomery/Magnoila/New Caney/Klein/Porter/Willis/Kingwood Park/ Tomball/College Station/AMC/Bryan/Cleveland/Montgomery), that's a lot of different district opponents and now in Region III with you guys, back with West Brook and New Caney. Lufkin has more continuous familiarity with our non district opponents Longview, Nacogdoches and Tyler High usually than any school we have played in all those seasons. Lufkin's now starts season three in Region III, hopefully there's more realighnment stability for the Panthers in future. As for 9-5A DI in 2026, it's going to be some competitive football and I'm looking forward to see Lufkin taking on each challenge. Going to be interesting to see what growth Lufkin has made in their rebuilding process. The SETX teams seem to have a lot of pairity between them, there will be a many hard fought games and whoever makes the playoffs will earn their spot.
  3. James 2:10 says: "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it" (NIV) I’m not playing anyone’s game, but to answer your question, there are multiple explanations. All it takes is one minor unforgiven sin to keep you out of heaven. In that case, they are all equally destructive (the same). Theres only one way for sin to be forgiven. Another point is it is impossible to live by the law. Jesus' sacrifice replaced the law. Many of the laws are necessary as guidance, but they serve no purpose for salvation. I don’t think we need to dive deeper to explain that there is a difference between stealing a piece of gum and child rape.
  4. HF hasn't had a particularly tough schedule, but after going 10-27 last year they're off to an 8-1 start, which is a nice improvement.
  5. Today
  6. Set to make real run in 2A. 4 players holding FBS offers. 2 more with D2s. All of them play both ways.
  7. Good luck Tigers. Hope you have an amazing season.
  8. HJ is going to be good for a while with the two freshmen thats on varsity and alot of talent coming up in the future
  9. Always an exciting time. TY for your hard work.
  10. In the past i havent done very well in this lol. Hopefully this year is different
  11. Explain what I referenced…or better yet read more and don’t pick out one verse to use to fit your narrative.
  12. Explain james 2:10
  13. Liberal judges pardon sex offenders daily, CB
  14. He didn't say that. What is your source?
  15. How is he evil? Paxton is a criminal that pardoned a sex offender
  16. Personally, they should just repeal the Jones Act altogether.
  17. Given the title: does that mean it’s open to other “can’t make this stuff up” cause I ve got plenty
  18. So are we saying the lefty from BH is QB1 to begin the season? Sounds like it and that is what I expected to happen. Will be fun to watch.
  19. When I became Manager of Service Merchandise back in 1998 or 1999, as a reward to myself I bought a Mont Blanc fountain pen, roller ball I believe. I paid with my discount $95, which to me is nuts for a pen even today. I told myself that I would not let anyone take it, or misplace it because it cost so much. Two weeks later, I was out $95 and a pen. I let a customer walk away with it......Lesson learned and ever since, I buy pens by the bag or box....lol
  20. Yes. They're pretty far away because of the track. The stadium had to fit in the exact footprint as old Bulldog. That was all the land that could be had because the strip center owners wouldn't sell. Also, the stadium was built for more than just football. Track was one of the main uses as well. Those seats are perfect for the track events at that end. They've also hosted community movies on the big screen this summer, Veteran's celebrations, and a lot of other events where the endzone seating was actually advantageous. They said it would be for the entire community to use, and they've followed through on that promise. It's being used almost like an outdoor amphitheater for the town. My understanding is the bands and drill teams are supposed to be in the horseshoe this year. I thought it was supposed to be that way last year. But, I don't think everything got coordinated that way due to some construction that was still ongoing, etc. We'll see if it happens that way this year. I think last year was still a learning experience with it not even being completely finished up before the season, and kinks were still being worked out. Really, there's no reason to have to sit in the endzone most games if you don't want. I think The Border Battle and PNG were the only sellouts of the whole stadium last year. Even with PNG, there were still some seats available between the endzones.
  21. Now there’s a Trump effect. It’s great news though, so it won’t get much attention. lol
  22. The only flaw I saw with this stadium was the endzone seating. It's much too far from the playing field. IMO, that seating is unnecessary. It would have been better to eliminate that seating and add to the 2nd decks on each side. But that would require moving back the press box. That was the only complaint I heard from folks who went to the stadium last season and had to sit in endzone seats. Just too far from the action.
  23. Since many of y'all haven't been able to come to Bulldog yet because of us being in 11-5A, I thought I'd post this video link again. A lot of the amenities aren't able to be seen when you just come to a game. If you arrive early, you should be able to walk around the entire stadium via the concourse. It's open all the way around the stadium, and is partially covered by the upper deck. So, there's a good amount of shaded area, and you still get the sea breeze. Parking is very similar to old Bulldog. But, all the construction is complete, so no lots are blocked. If you are a traditionalist, it may be different for you because the entire stadium is surrounded by large, surround sound speakers, the ribbon banners around the stadium show graphics like professional venues--as well as the typical scores, down, etc. Yes. There are special effects with the lighting and sound system. But, the stadium never goes completely dark--in case people are walking around the concourse, or wherever. There are picnic tables set up on the home side next to the concession area on the concourse for people to sit and eat/visit/whatever in the shade if they want and still see the field. I'm not sure if they're on the visitor side as well, or not. After last year's 'break in/learning all the tech period', everything is set to go, and it should be a fun experience for all. It's more than just going to see a ballgame. It's an experience. [Hidden Content]
  24. That last sentence is a massive understatement. But we also need someone to solidify being the 4th starter in the rotation. Houston having to use 17 different starting pitchers this season kind of sums up their season.
  25. Post them here
  26. What a strange game. He was projected as a guy entering free agency this off season to be worth 100 million on a 4 year deal. Then this season was played....and now he may get a 1 year "prove it deal" at a much lower per season level. Can he find lightening in a bottle for a few weeks? Astros could sure use a hot bat from an unexpected source.
  27. Interesting article about medical costs, and an article about fuel costs. The GOP fix to the hidden healthcare tax jacking up medical bills Trump just slashed gas prices with one quiet move. Here’s why you didn’t hear about it
