As for our coverage area games go, this is the most Thursday games for Week 1 that we have ever had here. 12 total. At least 3-4 of those were because of official shortage.

It won't matter. Coach Dre will have these boys ready to play. Having 2 extra games last year in the playoffs, the returning kids want to get back there. They won't be looking past any opponent.

It is what it is. No changing it now. If we were going to play down, I would much rather have played the district champ from that district (Bridge City 🤦‍♂️) or maybe a WO-S or Silsbee.

Pulling for Franklin but La Vega might be a bit too much.

I wonder why this one is being played on Thursday instead of Friday if BU is on the road in Lumberton on Friday?

La Vega will travel to open the season at Franklin this season to start Friday night lights. La Vega brings back a good number of players from last year's team. They bring back 8/9 and come in ranked #3 in 4ad2. Franklin graduated 35 seniors and will be pretty young coming into the season. Franklin brings back 5-5 and comes in ranked #4 in 3ad1. La Vega is travel for the first 8 games this season due to stadium renovations. I believe this is the first time these two schools have played each other.

Unfortunately, no one cares who the best 5-6 loss team in the State is.
