My 47th straight state tourney

My very first year. I was an 8 year old kid taking in the Dallas Roosevelt vs. Houston Wheatley state semifinal game which Roosevelt won 111-109. Game was in Gregory Gym and the place was electric. Jammed pack gym that had folks climbing out on top of the roof looking thru the windows watching the game. UNBELIEVABLE!! Safe to say, I was hooked.

Lot's of memories made with those trips with my father. He made 50 straight before he became too ill to go then passed away in 2010. I am just carrying on the tradition.

I'll have to come back to this thread with some other memories that stand out.

Great one but uhhh I think I have a gimme......last years 4A state final!!!!

Think I was at the game.  Did Roosevelt have player named Ira Terrell in it?

I watched Eddie Owens play for Wheatley against West Orange  in a warm up game that year and Jackie Carr did not pick a starting line up until right before the game.  he simply walked past each player on the bench and pointed to a player selected at that moment to start. A close friend of mine was coaching West Orange that year and after the game, he broke his hand hitting a wall.

      There is undeniable irony and hypocrisy in the fact that Trump has the unwavering support of conservative republicans across the country who've pushed legislation that makes it much more difficult to access her on pornhub.

      All sports lose money... period.. Yes football brings more revenue but still loses money with all its costs...  Football does not "fund" other sports..  It is funded by budget.. which is paid by state and local taxes.  I have seen many games this year where less than 200 parents show up to the games. Do you think these schools got rid all other sports cause their football team did not gain enough revenue at football games??... come on..  I would agree football is bigger in Texas.. no doubt... All I'm saying is other sports should not suffer cause of football Offseason... I know coaches think that 10 extra practices in April/May will determine if they are successful in November.. I just don't think its worth destroying another sport to do it.. especially with all the summer to practice...

      False.  He ran the country into the ditch.  And if you blame them Dems, then you have to admit that Trump was powerless to stop them.  Either way, NO ONE can claim he was a good President.      If you had told me that one day we'd have a First Lady with nudes on the Internet, I wouldn't have believed it.  If you told me that the President (proven rapist) and First Lady (with nudes on the Internet) would be on trial for falsifying documents regarding his hush money payments to a porn star with which he'd had an affair, I'd say .... "Never... but if it ever happens, it'll be a Democrat, for sure."   Except it really did happen and the person was supported by the Conservative, Christian, Right Wing, Republicans... and he's the presumptive nominee for President after getting his tail kicked up around his ears by the same man four years ago AND is still the darling of supposedly God-fearing conservatives.  You literally can't imagine this level of ignorance and hypocrisy.  Dems roll because decent people won't vote for Trump.    EDIT:   ANYMORE
