Ridiculous, why is Cleveland still ranked over West Orange and Westbrook?
Have you seen Cleveland?
Yes, I have saw Cleveland play once. Cleveland was much outplayed by Bmt. Kelly in the Woodville Tournament. At one point they were down by as much as 21 in the fourth. I think Cleveland should be far behind West Orange and behind West Brook, maybe Memorial.

I know Nederland lost to Ozen but I went watched the Crosby and Humble game. From what I saw Central, Ozen, & Nederland are better than those 2 teams. If that's the best 19-4A has to offer then that district isn't as good people think. Central, Ozen, & Nederland should be over those teams.

Kelly should stil  be #2 they beat Big Sandy and would beat EC by 15+
that's how rankings work, though.  you lose two in a row, you drop.
but should also consider how the team would do against another one head to head

You can't say how any team would play against any other team on any given day.  That is why they play the games.  EC started out the year with two experienced point guards out with injury from football and they didn't start playing until district got started.  They also have a new head coach who has installed a whole new system and it has taken time for the chemistry to gel.  I think they would beat most of the teams they played and lost to earlier in the year, but that is the way the chips fall.
EC is 10-0 in district play averaging over 80/game and giving up less than 50/game and has earned their spot in the top 12 of the area and #20 in the state during the course of this season... remember they fell out of the rankings earlier this year and have fought to get back to the top.

Could Kelly beat EC, who knows? 8)

The teams Kelly has lost to would beat all the teams above Kelly handily besides Kountze.

We MIGHT get an idea how Kelly compares to East Chambers after they play Hitchcock (common opponent EC 61 - Hitchcock 48 and EC was missing one starter)... I emphasize MIGHT since things change as the season goes on.  I still don't believe that Kelly would beat East Chambers. And IF they could it would not be "handily".

Then I guess we have no reference...

Just some numbers
EC averages:
Season 63 pts/gm and gives up 49 pts/gm
In district 79 pts/gm and give up 38 pts/gm

11-0 in District 25-2A

East Chambers lost to Big Sandy 72-39 (Dec. 11) and lost to WOS 68-40 (Dec. 14), both home games for EC.  Kelly beat Big Sandy 67-64 (Jan 8) and lost to WOS 64-55 (Nov. 27 - 2 point game with 1:30 left to play), both road games for Kelly.  There's your point of reference.

Both Wise and Falgout have played the last two games injured.  Wise has a severly sprained ankle that has effected his explosiveness to the basket and Falgout reinjured his thumb that was hurt during football.  Not trying to make excuses but those are the facts.  Those are our two best players and two senior starters.

And yes the game with Hitchcock is cancelled.  Coach Knowles is trying to give the players some time to rest.

These score are what they are but EC had just hit the court for about 2 weeks before those games and was missing their two point guards.  You can also look at the HJ games.  Kelly got beat by 51 and EC lost by 32 so who knows...
Thanks for looking that up for me.

This conversation could go on and on...  Kelly fans think that Kelly is better than EC and EC fans know (lol) that EC is better than Kelly...

Kelly has two playing with injury and has lost 3 in a row...  EC is health right now and is 11-0 in district play.  That said, the way the rankings work,  you lose games you drop in the rankings.

Justsaying - Kelly has not played HJ this year, so I'm not sure where you got that.

colliecw - As far as falling in the rankings, I never even mentioned the rankings and I understand when you lose you are going to fall.  I am responding to the comment that there will now be a common opponent between Kelly and EC.  I was just pointing out that there are already common opponents.

One thing I am sure of is that the teams we play in our district are much better than the competition EC faces in their district.  Every team in our district is good.  There are no easy games.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
