Don't have to boats for running the bay when there is a good chop . I am looking for a guide that is reasonable to take my wife  2 sons and I out to hopefully get on some reds and specs . does anyone have any suggestions .

Killed em again last night.  probably 30 reds, and a few specks, in about 2 hours.

I'm free after Sunday and guarantee to not waste anything I catch.  8)
We only kept 2 and it was only because they sucked a rattle trap in so far that we couldn't get it out without killing the fish.

Don't like my "new" boat.  20 ft aluminum cc with 115 Merc 4 stroke.  Rides too rough.  Great in shallow water with the tunnel hull, but I don't get shallow that often. Going today to look at a 24 1/2 ft SeaChaser.  Anybody have any experience with SeaChaser?    Made by Carolina Skiff.

...... especially if I can take a red on a flyrod.
you and that flyrod....lol
I won a bass tournament with it (but not the one we were in). Of course the flyrod didn't hurt that day either.  ;D

I dont expect you to give up your honey hole but where are you catching these on rattletraps and was that a rattlesnake in your pics. We fished off the Humphrey pier for 6 hrs on 7/31 for 6 hrs from 9 till 3 am and caught nothing using rattle traps live shrimp, mullet, shad, and croakers. we didn't catch enough to make decent gravy. Tide was moving out and then it got still and started back in.
The honey hole is a private pier on Pleasure Island.  Wednesday through Friday were unbelievable for slot reds.  It started to slow down Saturday and the last couple of nights have been slow(I wasn't there but that is what I am told).  My son went last night to a different pier, but since they got in at 3 a.m., I don't know how they did.

We caught fish on everything we threw.  Rattletraps seemed best, but it didn't really matter when the were boiling the water for 1/2 an acre in front of the pier.

We thought that was a rattler when we ran over it.  turns out, it was a bull snake.    Really hated to kill it once I found out what it was.

Okay thanks. i think we're going back tonight. I was told that the concrete steps by the marina is a good place this time of year. We're rookies in the grand scheme of things but my 14 yr old loves to fish biting or not. I might try the spoon with a trailer suggested by i think 'liltex' Pray for our success.
I have a 22' Sea Chaser with a zuk 200 I love it, no problems, runs really good in a good chop, wish mine had trim tabs tho. It'l run about 55, thinking County Farm n Ranch got one in the other day on a trade...
Went to Westlake for a test drive.  This is a 2006 boat with a 2010 Suzuki 250 4 stroke.  It is much quieter than my 4 stroke Mercury.  A few cosmetic issues but I think i am going to pull the trigger.    Anybody need a 20 ft aluminum cc?
