Whoever makes this squad should certainly be proud because there was some great baseball played this year by a bunch of really good athletes. The usual suspects such as Hicks, Felts, Statum, Robertson and others represented there schools well. Kelly from Silsbee was tough, Lalonde from HF played well, Kellog for BC was a great addition to their team, and the list could go on for a while. The underclassmen were just as good and they certainly make the future that much brighter for their respective schools. Henry from Silsbee was impressive behind the plate as well as with the bat, so was Menard from BC, and Darnall from WO-S. The freshman lefty from Silsbee (Jenkins) was another good one on the mound along with the soph from WO-S (Anderson). The one bad thing about the list is that somebody is going to get left out, just a hard cold fact with this much talent in one area. Glad I don't have to pick. Congrats to those who do make it.

I agree, these lists are so hard to do. My All Orange Leader team is tough this year. BC, OF, WO-S , LC-M, Vidor and Dville ALL were playoff caliber teams with 5 of the 6 making the playoffs. And the list of actual standout players in we cover are some of the best.

There is no way HF has the 3 best outfielders...

By the way Zach Peevey hit a grand slam against HF, he's hit the ball pretty well in district and is the ONLY senior on OF's team.  He should be one first team.

i think the best second baseman in this district is lalonde from HF 0- fielding errors on the year batted 385 in district i think mathews should be utility or moved to third.

I know of one error he had. Can any of you guess?

It was definitely a 4-6-3 double play, not E4-4-6-3.

Did the ball not land in his glove and then fall to the ground. Was he not moving. So easy of a catch a T-baller could have made it. No matter what the intention, it is an E.

You are correct on three out of those four sentences.  The thing is he still got two outs in stead of having two men on.  It appeared that the Silsbee second basemen took notes on how to drop pop ups...if you want to play that game.

OK so he took a couple of steps. No game being played here. Now, if you can keep up we are talking about errors on a certain second baseman. Not how many outs was made, nor are we talking about anyother second baseman. Just this one. Now let me get you up to speed. It was said that he had no errors, which is false. If he wanted an error free game he would have caught the ball, he did not he dropped the ball which is an error and in doing so two outs were made. So, try to stay on task about this certain second baseman and try not to drag other players in to make you fill better.

It doesn't go into the books as an error, so therefore it is not an error.  Learn the game before you speak =].

OK, is it because he recovered the dropped ball and made an out? I'm thinking that might be the only way an error would not be recorded.

It's not recorded as an error is an out was recorded, much less they turned a double play. Sounds more like a smart play to me.

he did have a error against BC in the last game on a pop up behind him if i remember right.

not trying to start a huge argument, just saying.

I might be wrong, but I think that was an error on the right fielder.

i know the ball wasn't to far into the outfield and i'm pretty sure the 2nd baseman made the attemp on the ball

I don't understand why somebody would disrespect a program or a player like that, it's completely uncalled for. HJ had a down year, that's just how baseball goes. And Zane Anderson deserves all the praise he gets, he has done an outstanding job on the mound this year for the Mustangs. I believe he should be an automatic shoe-in for first team, with just a little more run-support from his team, he would've won practically every game he pitched, minus one or two bumps in the road.

This was another great year of 21-3a baseball and i look forward to watching the ramaining teams play and to see how the district plays out in hte coming years, props to all you players!  ;)

Didn''t see all the BC game's, but didn't think Robertson was ever on 3B this season.  It was always Matthews or Hubbard.

Robertson should get 2B.

And did Hubbard play much 1B?  Thought that was Snyder?

Can't remember the kid's name, but HJ had a good 1B, dug out several throws to get the outs.

Best 1B I have seen in a few years is Bellow from Nederland, gotta love to watch that kid play.
