  1. 1. BC shocked the state last Friday beating Chapel Hill. Will they continue on their wave of momentum?

They'd beat Kilgore too. Just ask them

Rumor on the streets is that BC 2nd and 3rd string are gearing up to get lots of playing time... BC is predicting to be up by 3 or 4 scores by half.

I don’t understand all of the BC hate.

When great football programs like BC and Newton step up and beat larger schools, why do we face ridicule?

I could understand if we were trying drop down and face smaller schools, but we’re not.

No hate.  Just seeing it for what it is.  So, are you deny BC opted up to not have to deal with WOS, Silsbee and HF in district play?

If that were the case, then why did you guys schedule lower classification teams in non district?

One would think you would schedule up in non district.

People forget that we played in this same district in the previous alignment. These are teams that we were used to playing.

Another thing is that BC has a really strong involvement with other groups that participate on Friday Nights. Our drill and band are some of the best in the area, bar none. The 4A D1 district is a lot better fit for “us.”  Schools like LCM, Lumberton, and Huffman have similarly supported marching bands, etc… there are some years that WOS doesn’t even field a band, and the participation by the ones that have bands is pale compared to the BC program. Places like HF can’t seat our band, drill team, and band parents in their visitor stands, much less the regular Cardinal fans. Our school is a better fit with the bigger schools, even if our attendance numbers don’t put us up there.

I think we’d have finished no worse than second this year had we played in the local D2 district. Just my opinion.

I’m starting to like the idea of ramping up in competition as district play starts. What’s the point of going 2-3 in non district play and going into district play banged up, or even losing kids for the year in meaningless games? Is it a coincidence that our district record got way better when we stopped scheduling tough non-district opponents? I don’t know.

Your district record got better because of the district you now play.

I stated that out of the three schools that opted up, BC was the only one I really didn't have much problem with doing it since their numbers are close to DI anyways.

IMO, BC finishes no better than 3rd in 9-4A DII.

A BC vs HF game would have been a great game!

If it's not their team having success, then they're going to be negative.  They always find a reason to be negative and that's just society today.  But I'll say this, if your coach chose to opt up to Division 1 for WHATEVER reason, then you should back him 100%.  If other people don't agree, so be it.  It's what Bridge City decided to do and in the long scheme of things, they were successful doing it.  BC is now the 2025 Division 1 District Champions and Bi-District Champions.  So it's working for them.  If you're on here and you not from Navasota or maybe Kilgore, then beat it or support a SETX team that is successful.  There are plenty of schools loaded with potential in this area that can't figure it out.  Go back to the miserable thread about your team not making the playoffs or losing the first round and figure out a solution to excel!  Bridge City did!  Congrats Cardinals!

I thought you were joking about playing up against "bigger and badder teams". Idk what BC admin is feeding you guys. But its working. Clearly nieve.

Thats the problem. BC is not a great football program (yet) still well under .500 all time. And have at least 5 more winning seasons to be remotely considered as such (which could very well happen)... Now placing your name with Newton who is well over .750 and contenders every year is the problem... you clearly dont understand besides wins and loses or who you play against. Take the blinders off. Enjoy the success as you should but you're really being unrealistic
