Wow 😳

I just read where he hasn't transferred out yet. Weird.

Brenham head coach told KWHI in Brenham that Dixon is no longer with the program earlier today

Yeah I read the tweet from that Tyler Sports guy, it's weird. Did he just quit football altogether or transferring away from Brenham soon?

He will have a hard time transferring and playing this season.

38 or 40 states allow NIL at 17 with looser rules than Texas, and OOS transfer would allow play. Just a wild thought.

Depends.  Was there an actual relocation along with the transfer?  Would come down to the DEC at that point.

If he transfers, from what I have been told, Brenham will not sign off and I wouldn't expect a DEC to rule him eligible.

He would have been better off transferring before school started.

It will obviously be transferring for athletic reasons.

Welp... time will tell.

The UIL and Brenham will block that transfer. Ive heard he hasn't participated in any off season work outs and came in about 20lbs over last season weight. He and the Brenham Head Coach really got into it. Next year I could see him over at Navasota if he plays football again. His recruiting stock just went to zero almost.

This is what I heard also.  He is going to Navasota to finish this season on the JV and play Varsity next year.

I can’t believe this.  With the timing of this happening the week before the 1st game, I wonder what the story is here.  Brenham is pretty loaded this year and they were talking deep playoff run.  They are probably the only team that can beat Randle in Region 3 and Dixon is a big reason why.  My Huntsville Hornets might now have a chance in Week 1.

If he hasn't practiced with the team this year then technically he hasn't started UIL activities, he should be able to transfer and play.

Idk if it works that way though…. But if there is a loophole I’m sure a coach will find it lol

If I am the Navasota coach, I'm telling him to take his ass back to Brenham. If he isn't compliant there, he won't be compliant at Navasota. It's a tale as old as time. He needs his dad or an uncle to snatch him up by his shirt collar, drag him into the Brenham field house, make him apologize to his coaches and team, then get his behind in gear to be ready to roll before district play starts.

Doesn't work that way.

Here's what I found on the UIL site.  Now I'm sure the form will be fibbed just a tad.

No participation yet: If the student hasn't entered a UIL contest at their old school, they haven't established eligibility there for that season in that specific activity according to UIL's definition of participation.

Previous Athletic Participation Form

(PAPF): Regardless of prior participation, any student who transfers and wants to participate in UIL activities must complete a PAPF. This form helps determine the reason for the transfer.
