AggiesAreWe Posted May 8 Author Report Posted May 8 I don't like to get involved in any hiring process or campaign for anyone. But if it was up to me, I would promote Ira Brooks to the head coach position and make his son Jacob 1st assistant and be HC in waiting for a few more years till Ira retires. I do realize that neither are certified but I personally would make this exception and would be able to give time for Jacob to get certified. I believe Ira has earned it. If so I don’t disagree with you on that scenario at all. Quote

Tigers94 Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 I think I'm pulling for Hancock. He's got a good resume and ties to the area. First year is going to be kind of rough for whoever gets the job, but it won't last. Hopefully Tiger fans won't overreact to how next season is likely to play out and show a little patience. BOSoxfan4life Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Hancock would be good. Might have been mentioned before but what about Travis Williams? Quote
Excoach1970 Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Is he certified teacher? I know back in the day he was not. Quote
BADSANTA Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 I would give to Ira as well. He has been on the Tigers bench for well over 25 years. He was sitting next to John Bures when I was in school. I've been a supporter of both Coach Brook's for some years now. Quote

Kountzer Posted May 9 Report Posted May 9 Ira Brooks has earned it. Bad optics if they don’t give it to him. Quote

He is not certified and Silsbee has always required their head coaches to be certified teachers. Optics has nothing to do with it. Quote
Tigers94 Posted May 9 Report Posted May 9 So who beside Williams has applied? Since Hancock hasn't gone for it, I guess I'm hoping Williams gets it now. Quote
Who That Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 I'm hearing Jacob Brooks will be the new Silsbee Basketball coach. I hope so..! 🤗 Quote

AggiesAreWe Posted May 12 Author Report Posted May 12 I simply can't see Silsbee promoting Jacob over Ira at this point unless that's Ira wish. Both have interviewed. I can see them promoting Ira to head coach for the next 3-4 years then handing the reigns over to Jacob. BADSANTA 1 Quote
Johnny Carson Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 @AggiesAreWe do they both have their degrees? If so then I wouldn't see the big deal as long as they get enrolled in a certification program. Quote
