There was a guy named Paul at Nederland garage on Nederland Ave. But that was 10 years ago.

I would also say Billy Daniels at A and J Engine service in groves, main ave. But I think he only does diesel.

My dad worked in auto parts business over there for 40 years before he passed last fall. Wish he was still around to give a good answer. Anyway, I hope it helps.

I don’t know what was deleted, but I did notice that the OP apparently has higher standards for his mechanics than he does for his presidents.  😂

Of course, it’s much easier to find an honest mechanic than it is a politician. I think we all can agree on that.

Back in the day, I was a shade tree mechanic. Nowadays, you can’t get your arms between the engine and fender well, and there is so much more computer stuff, I gave up and take mine to a dealer. That serpentine belt alone is a deal breaker. I know I probably pay more, but I have peace of mind. What I am saying is, I don’t know any good mechanics anymore.
