It may be a little early to discuss, but this should be one of the best week one games in the state to see.

It's definitely going to be a huge game in SETX, and probably a close and well played one. I don't think it will be anywhere close to one of the best week 1 games if you look at the schedule though. There's nowhere to hide week 1 and there are a bunch of Crosby vs Manvel type games around the state being played to open the season. Doesn't Ned play WOS to open the season too? I would think they make that the SETX game of the week anyway.

Is Crosby vs Manvel really a SETX game tho? More of a Greater Houston Area game, don't you think?

That being said, the aforementioned game will be one of the better ones in the state.

That's why I said Ned vs WOS would be the SETX game of the week. I know Crosby vs Manvel wouldn't really be considered a SETX game, I just mentioned it because those are the type games the initial comment was incorporating.

Depends on who you ask and how you reference what is truly SETX.

Crosby vs. Manvel - geographically is more SETX (as Liberty, Texas is the hub of SETX)

To members of this site and residents of the golden triangle, NED vs WOS is more SETX

I agree with you 1000% but that's an argument I gave up on long ago on this site. If you ask someone from Houston to describe where they live they'll tell you southeast Texas, you ask them where Beaumont is and they'll tell you East Texas. To us there's really no difference between Beaumont, Lufkin, Cleveland, Marshall or Newton. Even if you look at it longitudinally places like Houston and Baytown are farther south than Nederland, Port Arthur, Beaumont or Orange. You'll never win that one here.

Trust me, I have been trying to educate for the last 8 years. It's definitely a lost cause. Lol

But the site has expanded exponentially in the last couple years and those guys work hard and serve us well. No complaints on my mind.

If you watch HS Extra, they break it down by regions: Greater Houston, DFW Metro, CenTex, Golden Triangle... etc. I consider Crosby to be more Greater Houston than SETX. However, if you put me on a map and asked me the relative location of Crosby, I suppose I would say Southeast.

Ned vs WO-S will be a one sided whoopin, at least PN-G and Silsbee will be competitive. Both PN-G and Silsbee are replacing guys, while WO-S is rolling in with, I believe, 20 returning starters.

Like GR vs Crosby

Don't know why GR was mentioned.  Maybe you meant RP who is now 6A and most likely the same thing would happen again this year if those teams played again.  Wasn't a slight on the State Champs, just a difference in classifications.  That WOS/Ned game will be a slobber knocker, I personally think too much speed from the fellas from Orange County, but wouldn't count out Nederland like some will do.

    • Israel is a very important ally to the US, in terms of security, intelligence gathering and many actions that have hindered nuclear proliferation in the Middle East.  Are they our most important, don't know, but I don't see the UK taking care of some of the problems Israel does, yet they are still a very important ally, I think it's a silly argument. To say that the Middle East is not as close to a global threat as Russia and China may be true today, but if Iran develops nuclear weapons, it will be at the disposal of maniacs that will fly into buildings screaming Allahu Akbar and fully expecting to see their 70 virgins on the other side.  Israel has played a big part in keeping that from happening.  China and Russia have restraints in place that the religious fanatics do not, that places the global threat from them on a whole new level, imo.  Not to mention the countless terrorist organizations they fund globally, with US money, I will add. Not sure the necessity to rate our allies, they're all important.
    • The Middle East is not close and have never been close to a threat on a global (or most important US threat as Russia china) you think the government is more concerned with the Middle East over them? And if either two attacked,Israel wouldn’t be on anybody mind. the UK would and it’s not close the uk is our greatest ally even in the Middle East Uk is our greatest ally. Other than political talking points what have the state of Israel done for the US.   Side bar I started a thread awhile ago about Israel . Few responses.. why is a Christian nation so Eager to defined those who consider the phrases king Jesus, Christ is king offensive.    If we can protest Ukraine we should be able to protest the state of Israel. Take away religion and there the exact same.
    • It's 2 towns trying to get tickets all at the same time. We have a history of crashing sites..lol
    • The problem as well as that all of the social justice warriors, influencers, and instigators repeat these lies in the immediate days after the event, garnering outrage.  But when they're proven false they never go back and rescind their outrage-causing posts, they just move on to the next one.
    • I just find it really hard to believe that Trump will select a VP based on the votes they bring him.  He's going to want a Trumper that will affirm his every move and stoke his ego.  I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I doubt it.  And as you said, in these battle ground states a few tenths of a % point may be enough to swing the whole election.  Trump can't afford a VP who will cost him votes (Noem would cost him full points, not just tenths), but also needs a candidate that will bring in as many votes as possible.  So hopefully whichever Trump disciple he chooses has some political appeal to swing voters.
