I don't know if you should write them off just yet.. The first game they lost 9-8 after giving up 7 in the first inning
They're scrappy and can definitely compete

I wonder if it'll be 1 or 3 games, should be a great one!

I am thinking OF wants 1 gamer, Silsbee would want 3 game series.

True, but don't forget the run rule loss (15-5) Orangefield had to Silsbee in the 2nd game. ;)

So can Silsbee, for state ;D Silsbee didn't played a game in about a week before playing Columbia, the bats are warming back up.. for OF to have a shot in winning they need Silsbee to play their worse game and OF play their best game, I'll take silsbee winning in a 1 or 3 game series.

Totally agree. Don't think they can beat Powell but may have a chance against the other two. IMO

Wow? that's a mighty big statement right there don't ya think? Not sure anyone who has seen these two teams play several games would go along with that at all. With both teams at 100% and each team starting their #1 (Smith for OF and Powell for Silsbee) it will be a much better game than some would imagine. Silsbee has a much deeper offense as they can swing it all the way through the lineup. OF on the other hand can small ball it with the best of them and Trawhon knows exactly when to do it so that keeps them in the game more often than not. If Smith is able to keep the Silsbee bats from going crazy early it should be a good game. If Silsbee swings it like they are capable of swinging it then you can guess the result. If it's a one game situation it could be a classic, I'd love to see it. Good luck to both sides and to all my friends from each school, hate the fact that 21-3A will lose a team but someone has to move on and represent.

Please also note when "they lit up Hartman earlier in the year" that Hartman was hurt..... He was having shoulder problems and that was a huge reason why he wasn't effective....

why would a coach put a player in jeopardy of further injury by pitching a player with a shoulder injury?

      That was an awesome video!  I feel so proud of these young men.  They proved the doubters wrong.  Bellville should be proud, too.  I know it didn't end like they had hoped, but we've been there, so we can definitely empathize with them.  Great season, Brahmas!

      Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.

      Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.
