Do you think the Dayton tournament has really good teams in it?  Why is Bridge City intentionally laying low with the qualify of their schedule? Losing to Sterling is not a good loss.

What teams would you put ahead of Bridge City at this time? It feels like you have some beef with BC for some reason lol. Buna is sitting with 7 losses. 5A PNG has 2 losses to 3A competition. Bridge City is in the very early stages of their schedule with one loss. So I'm really not understanding why a team with one loss in four sets (one being 29-27) is all of sudden not worthy of a top 5 rating for our corner of the state.

Bridge City will face PNG in the Dayton Tournament, so we'll get a look at two of our local teams.

Next week BC travels to Orlando, Florida for the KSA Tournament.

I agree with you.  Bridge City has only played four games.  Two of them were Dayton and United. Sterling has been their only competition so far. PNG should be in 2nd place knowing they are 12-3.  If they were still playing each other August 25 like they were suppose to, then it would determine who actually should be in 2nd place.

PNG is 12-3, but two of those losses came to 3A Buna over the weekend.

That was last year. Baytown Sterling lost its D1 middle  and Juco Setter and is not even close to the same team this year. They may not even make the playoffs. Need to take into account returners. Their record so far this year pretty clearly shows they aren't the same team.

Bridge City has only played four games. More will be known about them after this week.

Interesting that Bridge City stays at 2 after losing to Baytown Sterling in 4 sets.

5A Baytown Sterling went 28-8 last season and two rounds deep in the playoffs. They're no slouch.

I'm from Buna, and I'll say Buna played very well. They didn't outscore Lumberton, but did tie, 2 TD's to 2 TD's. Buna scored on the Lumberton 1's once and the 2nd team once. Lumberton 2nd team offense scored 1 TD and their 1st team scored 1 TD. I'd say Buna held their own.

Thanks! I was just going off what I was told.

I believe you're correct, last season wasn't the worst home loss ever, it was the worst opening season home loss ever. @AshlyKBMT can fact check that.

And I agree it should be a much better game this season, hopefully anyway. 🤞🏾

It was the wort season opening loss for PNG.
    2022 Port Arthur Memorial 50-15 (35 pts)
    1926 Orange 41-7 (34 pts)
    1955 Nederland 34-6 (28 pts)

Worst losses on the books all-time for PNG
    1944 Port Arthur 89-0
    1987 Aldine MacArthur 75-0

I thought they lost that MacArthur game on the road though. The previous meeting in 1986 was 28-7.
