What seems absolutely crazy to me is that I don't think it even matters to those further left from center what Mr. Obama does or when he does it. He is the Teflon President that the liberal-minded refuse to stick any blame or bad vibes on. I will not hesitate to point the finger at any person, liberal or conservative, that is harming our way of life. I just do not get it...

Hey Big Girl For the record - I do have family involved (past and present) Whereas they speak of the terrible conditions, and a certain level of fear during combat knowing they may very well not return alive....Not a single one have denounced the reasoning behind their mission. They understand the evil and dangers these people pose to not ONLY the USA homeland but to the millions of innocent Christians (and others). Of course I (nor anyone else) would consider them cowards or dependent on others  They understand taking the fight to THEM is way better than allowing the fight to come to our homeland - they do this so pathetic liberals like you can live free and clear of the dangers they face on a daily basis.....
 
My question to you is this: Do you have any comprehension of what it's like knowing the very people  they put their life on the line for hate them so much and take for granted the very freedoms in which they provide.
 
I for one wish wars or acts of fighting for our freedoms could be voted on by the USA citizens - The YES votes are protected by the acts of our honorable military - The NO (and the non voters) shall not enjoy those freedoms.

However, I hardly think taking away a "freebie" at whatever point...is "unfair" one shouldn't become dependent on said "freebie" use it as a tool and be appreciative while you have it....but don't whine, cry and belly ache when it no longer exist.

Believe it or not, you can walk or ride a bike safely in Beaumont.    If you aren't hanging out and doing drugs late at night, Beaumont is actually pretty safe.   I would actually like to know how many people have been assaulted in some way just going down the street before 10 pm.  I bet it's not many.

It wasn't "fair" that after I came to the company I work for "Obamacare" jacked my premium up costing me $100's of dollars a month more than I "knew about" while negotiating my salary either....but I managed.

Extracurricular.....though good for students....it s not necessary nor a right.
 
I was at la porte for several years  though not as big as Beaumont but still a good size school....no bus transportation for extracurricular.....parents never had an issue with it.  Because they didn't expect the school district to do the parents' job.
 
also like others have stated you want it bad enough find a way.  ask for a ride from a teammate's parents that live close by, other family members, travel in a group, ride a bike, etc etc

Maybe if these kids started riding bikes, they could go back to Honey Buns and Cokes in the vending machines.......and Candy.....and Ice Cream.....

Its about time they make the parents responsible for their own kids.  I ve been in 3 other districts and never did they have bus transportation for after school activities....time to own up parents and BE PARENTS.

BISD has a big tax base.  With a little discretion, they will be fine.   It's a good thing that sports are taking a little hit.  Wakes up the whole community.

working in education from minorities to non minorities, rich and poor, etc....I see it all the time with parents and children.

Although I suspect I know what several of the answers to this question will be, I can't speak for anyone but myself, and no, I'm not okay with it. In fact, I think the only reason Rick Perry got behind that bill was to have something on his record that appeals to Hispanic voters in the event of a presidential campaign.
 
But that's not really the point here, is it? You're trying to make some bogus point about Rick Perry being similar to Barack Obama in how he deals with illegal immigrants, and I suspect that you erroneously believe and would then ignorantly try to point out that the only reason we hold differing views of the two of them is either race or partisan affiliation.
 
Well, as usual, you're wrong. They don't hold the same views on illegal immigration and border security, and Rick Perry doesn't speak out against Barack Obama's policies regarding those issues in public just to quietly go along with them in private. Don't believe me? Rick Perry deployed 1,000 troops to the border. Barack Obama ordered ICE to turn loose any illegal immigrant they took into custody, including suspected criminals, unless they were being held on felony charges.

No, I would be okay with them not being in the country. I don't want them here paying out of state tuition either. 
 
None of that has anything to do with you trying to make (for several weeks) a correlation between the Obama Dream Act and the Texas in state tuition law. You are trying to make it show that if Perry does it, it is okay but if Obama does it, it is wrong. You have the apples and oranges problem of comparing two different things where one has almost nothing to do with the other.

what they need to do especially the ones that stole money......find the money and take it back and if they can't find it then take their house, cars, boats, get away home to equal whatever money they stole.
 
they stole from the school and tax payers and now teachers have to pay for it by losing their job which then effects groceries being bought, bills being paid, mortgage payment, car payment.....list goes on.
 
like I ve said in other post on the political board....bring the hammer down hard and make it real for them.  we are too easy on criminals......that's one reason we have overcrowding

I find if curious (not disputing the fact) that crime rates have gone down, but I now have to lock my house, car and every other thing. I have a lock on my trailer hitch. Twenty years ago I would never lock my house. I left my keys in the car ignition most of the time. House alarm systems were for paranoid rich people.
 
But to answer the question, the sanctity of marriage has been dismantled. Instilling discipline in a child/juvenile is considered abusive. The idea of self-reliance is a thing of the past. Taking responsibility for one's own actions is out the window. Modesty and courtesy in public has evaporated. For way way too many people, taking care of your family is considered the job of the government. Reliance on government assistance is now considered normal. These are few things off the top of my head.
 
Many things have changed for the better, and many things have changed for the worse. I would love to be able to keep all of the electronic gadgets, appliances, medical advancements, etc. that we have today, but live in Mayberry (I still watch old episodes of Andy Griffith). Does a town like that exist anywhere today?

I would add one thing to this....severe punishment (fines, loss of drivers license, and/or any other state or federal assisance, including prison if multiple offenses) to those who hire the illegals

We don't need a fence. We need a system in place that properly taxes immigrants and does not reward them with freebies and handouts when they get here. If someone wants to move to the US and become a productive, taxpaying member of society, great! All of us on here come from families of immigrants, unless we have some pure native Americans on here I don't know about. But their being here should be at a benefit to our country, not a detriment. We should be making tax dollars off of them, not spending tax dollars on them. An aside to that, criminals need to be deported. You want to live here, you get one chance to follow the rules.
