Linebacker Jayron Williams signed letter of intent with Lamar University yesterday.

People keep pointing out the one year at NRG. There were three or four newer schools playing. 5A-DI George Ranch vs Lake Ridge (15,743).  5A-DII Cedar Park vs Frisco Lone Star (13,479). Not much of a following built up with a lack of alumni. Plus the big thing people don’t like to bring up. DFW doesn’t travel as well. They’ll show up when it’s in their backyard. Katy vs Lake Travis drew 43,718 in Houston. North Shore vs Westlake was 28,841.
Schools within 100 miles of AT&T Stadium went (5-1) this year. China Spring is 109 miles away and also won. There is a real home field advantage for the DFW. 
Stephenville (west of DFW) might have brought 5,000 fans in 1999 to the Astrodome. That was crazy to me considering the monster program they had built.
I like the idea of a 3 stadium rotation and San Antonio is most central location with a dome if a rotation isn’t possible.
There’s also the crowd talking about the experience the kids get playing in AT&T. Well I’ll say Newton was just a excited to win a title in Tyler Rose Stadium when the weather was in the 20’s as they were when winning it AT&T.

What about 400# offensive linemen that don’t wear a belt, and you see they’re a&$ crack all game long?!   I don’t like looking at that!
Can they focus on their program and not worry about another teams mascot.

I don’t share the sentiment that you have any bias or favor one region over the next.   I thought Bally Sports coverage went way over board on the SOC and Duncanville hype.   They didn’t spend that time on PNG or GPNS.  It seemed that’s pretty much all they cared about.   From the pregame segments, to the guys/gals perched above the field.
It was a love fest.   But that comes from the producers, I would guess.

So the total attendance number for the state championship games was 213,665. Far short of the 250,00 the UIL
was predicting. With the numbers going down, how about rotating the venue the way it should be?

That’s unfortunate.   He will make a great player wherever he goes.  I thought he was no-racial until yesterday.   Not that it matters, the kid is a great player regardless of race.

Me personally I wouldn't put my child in it...but not my child so much like with PNG"s mascot my opinion doesnt matter than much in that regard. 

DCF has turned HSFB into what ESPN done to College Football. All about $$$$ . They need to start rotating stadiums with Alamodome or NRG.

Thats sad the only school imo that had the best band and drill team i seen all week. Great school spirit

Great season NS…if Bailey plays this game ain’t close but congrats to Samples I respect what he has accomplished 

Desoto should another team thats strong next season..
But on another note, no matter what happens with D'Ville and NShore
DFW is dominating TXHSFB....Yes I know ppl will get on here talking about the transfer rules etc. but until UIL does something about it, it wont stop anything..
 

Which is why I said the game shouldn’t have been close but it was due to the lack of coaching on SOC’s behalf 

SOC definitely made some adjustments defensively, they are really sound on that side and have been for a few years.....the DC is well regarded and has worked at places like A&M and Boise State.....when PNG was pulling they were able to outnumber SOC because they had schemed SOC well and appeared to have figured out some of their rules....SOC made one adjustment on the fly in the 2nd Qtr, but it left them vulnerable w/o a 3rd level defender and thats wheh Nguyen busted the long one down to the 3 and they made it 17-5. They cleaned getting outnumbered on the pull and then they made a change at LB that helped. 
SOC offensively isn't complex, but sometimes being simple is best....they didnt trust Little in the 10 personnel (4 wide 1 RB)packages all year and PNG had a great scheme to deal with SOC's running game when they were 20 (3 WR, 2 RB) ....so they decided to trust Little more and we saw more 10 personnel in the 2nd half.....

This was a very winnable game for PNG. IMO, PNG didn’t make the needed adjustments at halftime. I was not impressed with SOC. However, hats off to them for the win. PNG will be back next year.
