Don’t look like this has been shared yet, but one of the best people to ever be called Coach passed away.
Truly one of the best people I’ve ever known. A genuine person, with a servants heart.
He was a wonderful coach as well, and a terrific track coach. His son, Coach Andy Evans is a wonderful person and coach in his own right.
RIP coach.

Great man as well.

Hey @89Falcon I think you would find this interesting. But I wish our teams now was at least like a team like this when Coldspring was one of the best in the 90's. That's why our coaches show it or the 92 season to us each year. @AggiesAreWe Check out the game that year between us and Cameron Yoe I think you would find the field to you liking. For all you Woodville, Lumberton and Newton fans I advise you not to watch because it will bring back haunting memories of #12 Doug Reece #26 Johnny McHenry (R.I.P.) and #33 Issac White.

MackLewis got a reaction from RETIREDFAN1 in THSCA does not recognize the Faith Family championship
If they wanna compete in the UIL make them compete against 6A schools. Nothing fair about them playing 4A schools. It’s a joke.
657 kids isn’t 657 kids from La Vega, Sinton, Carthage, Stephenville, or any other 4A school.
When you cherry pick your enrollment, and roster, you shouldn’t be on the same court as those teams.

MackLewis got a reaction from Reagan in What makes a good vs. great coach?
Don’t know any great coaches who didn’t have a good staff and good cast of coaches around them.
They better be able to not only coach kids up, and get them to play above their talent level, but they better be a good judge of coaching talent!

MackLewis got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Tyler High hires Rashaun Woods
Trahan was a heckuva player. Did dad was a heckuva high school coach. Hope he has lots of success in Tyler. That place is a gold mine for talent, but will have to change the culture.

This might be the biggest plus that Crumedy brings to our program. I've always felt like Jasper kids haven't gotten enough exposure in recruiting. He's got people from all over the place in the building almost daily.

Coach samples, coach parks, coach tarter, coach Johnston, and some more at JV and jr high level.

I'm curious if you don't win in your seven years and get fired, does that make you ineligible to get hired somewhere else? It kinda seems like you're outkicking the coverage on this one. For every coach who ever wins a state championship there are dozens who never will. Not sure how you can keep firing really good coaches in the hopes of finding an elite coach when by Reagan's standards, there are less than 10-15 "elite" coaches at any given time roaming the sidelines of Texas football stadiums, while there are over 1500 high school football teams in the state.

Any Red Bryant’s, Jorrie Adam’s, or SirVincent Rodgers coming up?
Pretty amazing how big those 2002-2003 Jasper teams were.
I still say Jorrie Adam’s was the most impressive looking kid I’ve ever seen on a football field.

You’re perversion with state title or bust is sickening, and quite honestly, a very stupid take. We all know this.
Joesph lost the title, so don’t that make him a failure?
Can’t wait to see your take if they go 11-2 or 10-3 and fall short of the title game.

You can measure a coaches successes in many ways, by wins, championships, or in lives changed. Wins are good, Championships are great, but there is no substitute to changing a young athletes life. I’ll take a good coach who can mold a young athletes life, over a great coach that gets wins but doesn’t connect with his players.

6 more years of coming up short and Joseph will be in the unemployment line.

Anyone that thinks that way is an idiot & doesn’t understand what Coach Mathews has done.

Coach Mathews changed the lives of many young men throughout the years. He is a good coach and an even better person!
There is one coach on the staff that needs to be the next HC. He is well liked, has a great football mind, and would be a good HC.

I'm just wondering, if Joseph stays at PNG for 6 more years and they never win a state championship, will it be time to fire him?
