Little punks, their daddies need to give an old fashioned arse busting. If you can do that anymore, without having CPS called on you.

Hagar got a reaction from bullets13 in Eric Garner family gets paid!
I've seen the video of the arrest. He was refusing to comply with the Police's instructions. Now I'm so big I have Goodyear on my side, but only 5'10". He was several inches taller and I would look emaciated next to him, so yes they got rough. And his family is getting $5.9M? What in the cornbread h-ll is going on???? They need to arrest the stupid SOB's that authorized that.

Lets not start the presidency thing. Cause we all know that eventually we ll have an Obama Holiday along with being able to marry your dog, donkey, pig, etc. Even pedophiles will have rights that they don't have now. And I am being serious about what I just mentioned....
I could care less about this issue...there is bigger problems in this country.
that flag killed a bunch of people.... Similar to guns killing people isnt that right liberals.

I think this is the appropriate place to post this. I just got this from a friend of mine and it may be pertinent to some of you.
"I've been thinking about all that is going on these days. If I shot a buck this coming season and I only have a doe tag, can I claim that the buck wasn't really a buck? I mean, maybe he had always wanted to be a doe, but thru no choice of his own, he was born with the physical attributes of a male. Yet on the inside he had always known he was truly female. I'm just wondering if the game warden will buy it ?"

Been meaning to mention this Hippy. Remember quite a few years back when the Democrats labeled themselves as "The Party of Diversity". Now the Republicans are diversified, and the Dems, you better lock-step with them or you're out on your kister. Ironic! Smh

It offends me when you compare Confederate Soldiers to ISIS. I'm afraid you've lost all credibility with me BD3.
I make every effort not to do that towards anyone. Sad. I enjoyed these discussions. I've learned. Evidently, you've learned nothing.

I keep seeing the word traitor in reference to the South. By what I gather by looking up the definition of traitor & rebel, they're pretty close. Let me put this disclaimer in: I'm to heck & gone from being great in English. I studied. Tried hard. Brown nosed my teachers, just to get a C. What I'm posting now may be, by definition, wrong, but it's what my pea brain has come up with.
I'll use the American Revolution as my base, since all seem to agree it was fought for the right cause. So as it unfolded, to the British, we were traitors, but to us, we were rebels (way over my head here).
So based on that, you can pick any armed struggle of people fighting against the governing body, and call them traitors. That would include the Confederacy, the Irish, also against the British, and many African tribes, like the Zulu, also against the British, and the Boers (I think they were Dutch settlers but not positive).
I suppose if we had lost the Am. Revolution, we'd be on line now and the English would still refer to us as traitors. You could also say, hey the African tribes were fighting for their homeland. Yes, so was the Southern soldier.
Please, don't think I'm trying to start anything with this. I'm just trying to point out the many ways we have at looking at things. I don't consider those tribes traitors. I don't consider the southern soldier as a traitor. Both were fighting for their homes. I know, apples and oranges. Maybe so, but I think all of us, depending on our life experiences, sometimes look at an apple and see an orange. All of us.

So Evadale ISD is wrong for doing this despite no one in that community having a problem with that display?

Hagar reacted to thetragichippy in Congress Votes To Ban Confed Flag
I have to jump in......
What Evadale is to me is a school with a long loyal history that will not be taken from them easily. One small enough it can teach character to each student......
Story: My Son was on the Basketball team and at one of their games, because of the score, they let their weakest player play almost the last half of the game. This kid had never scored the entire year. He was fouled and had 2 free throws.....He made one......the entire team ran and picked him up and celebrated......The Evadale side of the stands all stood up and cheered.
After the game, my Son looked at me and asked if I thought the celebration was cool. I agreed and he said that would have never happened at his old School........and he was probably right.
They also say prayers.....

You're right, and I honestly feel that if the flag had not used as a symbol by the KKK and other hate groups, we would not be having these discussions.

Hagar reacted to BS Wildcats in Congress Votes To Ban Confed Flag
There are those of us on here that will agree to disagree over the flag. There is one thing that is for sure and that is we can all agree that slavery, hangings, and all other atrocities should not have ever happened. The removal of all symbols of the South will not change this. There is nothing we can do about what happened then. We need to realize that just because we don't agree with what is taking place, does not mean one is racist or not. It is just a difference of opinions. In the end, all of this is really getting nobody anywhere.

Hope they're allowed to keep it as well, but somebody with nothing better to do will try to stir the pot. By the way, that baseball rivalry between Big Sandy and Evadale is great. Mine graduated this year, but I'm at least gonna try to catch these two games for sure. If it's anything like last three years, they will get to play each other 3 times.

Those dudes over there better curb their enthusiasm. If they get froggy with Israel & the nukes start flying, you talk about the price of gas going up. Smh

Hagar reacted to CraigS in What happened to gas prices?
Most people don't realize that it WILL affect them also. They see the obvious of oil/gas people get laid off, and think that's due to prices dropping. However, when those people lose their good paying jobs and stop eating out, buying cars, going on vacations, stop buying new homes, stop flying, etc........then the layoffs start in all other industries due to these reductions.....however, there is a lag in time and those getting laid off don't realize it is a direct result of trickle down from falling gas prices.

Before I get to Al Gore, I want to give you an Attaboy.
Haven't been on long, but you keep things going. If not for you we'd be trying to figure out who's the best Midfielder on our National Soccer Team (my Gd played that position, otherwise I'd had to put Goalie lol).
Now, the Global Warming bunch want to blame fossil fuels. IMO they are minutely correct. Say, less than 5% on any climate change. The rest is cyclical.
I stand by my assertion that Al Gore is an Alien living among us. His home planet got too liberal, went broke & he (I'm beginning to think Hillary also) was sent here to raise money to bail them out. Am I a genius or what.

From what I read of the History of the Civil War, the Confederate soldiers were to busy fighting and dying to commit the atrocities you're referring to. I'm certainly not proud of what many slave owners did, or had done, but the average Confederate soldier was (and I know you've heard this before & will probably blow it off) a relatively poor (what would be described now as trash) man who answered the call for the South, or perhaps drafted into service. He didnt own slaves, nor a pot to pee in or window to throw it out of. Like the hundreds of thousands of boys sent to fight in Viet Nam - to stop the "domino effect" (commies will get VNam then Australia, then U.S.). I was in the Army then. Fortunately, had orders to go & they got cancelled. Hell, we didn't know a commie from a Canadian. If someone mentioned Stalin, we may have heard his name that's it. Our country called and we got sent where they wanted us to go. And almost 60,000 died there, many boys I'd gone to school with. And like the Civil War, most were the poorer young men, not the rich.
That's the same as happened to the Confederate soldier.
One last thing Pam, I'm not sure but I'd guess slavery started in America just prior to 1700. So slaves were subjected to unimaginable cruelties for a hundred & sixty years prior to the War. That war lasted four years and as you know, hundreds of thousands died. Very few slave owners, they had money. So in that 165 years of slavery, that flag, that meant so much to so many men, innocent of the sins of slavery, was only around 4 years. And those 250,000 men that died, many did in as terrible a way as any slave.
I don't care about slave owners except to say I hope they rot in hell. But for all those innocent young men who died, I care for them, just as you care for yours.
Don't know what else I can tell ya. We both have TO MUCH to morn, but I'm reaching to you hard as I can. I know your pain, I'm just trying in a sincere way, to explain mine.
