    I agree completely.

I wanted to make it clear that it’s just a theory/rumor, but it’ll be interesting to see if it takes shape.

It WOULD be an interesting development if it turns out to be true.

At least it’s (as tvc says) plausible.  I know it was senseless but spent no time on “why”, other than there almost certainly is a “why”.  It will come out eventually.  But in my feeble mind I can’t think of any “why” to justify this insanity.  So how do you get four of your buddies to flush their lives down the sewer?  Another mystery.

Scary how the Repubs are following it, almost like a blueprint. Say/do one thing today. Tomorrow blame it on the Democrats and their electorate eats it up. I have no idea how folks don’t see it. Don’t want to?

Or this, use the little grey cells nature gave you to post an original thought rather than having to simply use someone else’s thoughts and simply changing the words?  Too hard?  Evidently.  Are you even aware how many times Schiff claimed to have proof of Trump’s involvement in Russian Collusion?  Me neither but the number would be staggering.  So for you to support him is proof that you fall for doublethink.  Really guy, you should be able to see this.  How you can’t is simply mind boggling to me.

  3. Schiff, endlessly telling everyone of the proof he had on Trump’s Russian Collusion.  The man, and his followers, are right out of 1984 with the Ministry of Proof, and doublethink.  I dusted that old book out and reading it again after about 45 years.  Interesting (scary) how the Dems are following it, almost like a blueprint.  Say/do one thing today.  Tomorrow blame it on Republicans, and their electorate eats it up.  I’ve no idea how the folks don’t see it.  Don’t want to?  It’s a head scratcher for sure.

  4. The other day on Ch 6 News a guy walks in a store in Beaumont and walks out with two high dollar tool kits of some sort.  I forget the store or exactly what he got, but the point is, this is the same bs that’s been going on in the Dem run cities in the west & east.  I hope the law puts a screaming halt to this.  Now!

    Your confusion is understandable.

An insect flying at 35mph will cover the 50 yards in 2.90 seconds. An insect flying at 25mph would cover that distance in 4.01 seconds.

Without anticipating a accurate speed test, it would be difficult for a person being surprised by a beetle to take note of the 1.11 second time difference.
    🙃

Now that’s legitimate trivia information there.

You and me had to have crossed paths and didn’t know it. Steak and Egg, Sears escalator, probably the Fair (the real fairgrounds)…

Lots of things have changed in Beaumont, just like anywhere else. 11th street used to be “The Drag”. Taking out the circle killed that. Used to be a Gandy’s restaurant on 11th (think that was the name), Popeye’s Chicken used to be a McDonald’s. Laurel and Liberty streets were opposite one-way than they are today. Carnation’s Ice Cream changed to a foot doctors office. Gaylynn theater and shopping center is now part of St. Elizabeth. Showtown is now a golf practice range. South Park drive-in is now a parking lot for plant contractors. I remember Cardinal Drive when it was only the access roads. Lots more, but my fingers are tired.

Made 11th street many’s a time.  Take the circle to the Pig Stand on College then circle back to the Pig Stand on 11th.  Thursday or Friday afternoon was clean & make the car shine.  When I got the Plymouth Fury it was out to the frontage road passed Don’s Seafood to race a challenger. Glad they weren’t worried about green energy, lol.  Burnt up many a gallon of gas in those days, lmbo.

Yes, I remember well (sometimes). Gateway killed downtown Beaumont. Sears & Roebuck used to turn their basement into their Christmas shopping spot. The store was on Broadway and Magnolia. Building is still there. Heard about something called a mall in Houston. Think it was Gulfgate. Couldn’t believe you could put all those stores together under one roof. Later came Parkdale Mall (a proposed site for the Astrodome) and it practically killed Gateway. Lot of places are gone now. 11th street and College used to be a circle. Circle drive-in was where Conn’s offices are on College. I could go on, but that’s enough for now.

Yup, left out Sears.  If I had a dollar for every time I rode the escalator there, I’d be rich, lol.  It was a real novelty back then.  High faluting for SETX back then.

  8. Believe it or not, a trip to Beaumont was a big deal in my youth.  When I was about 5 or 6 (early 1950’s) we’d make a trip into downtown Beaumont.  During Christmas It was much like the start of a Christmas Story.  Looking at the windows of Kress’s, Woolworth, and Morgan & Lindsey’s.  Going in & seeing all the toys and decorations.  Every time I see that movie I think of those days.  As I got older my sister (6 years older than me) would get to see a movie at the Jefferson and Liberty Theaters.  In those days safety wasn’t a problem.  In that respect, it was “the good old days”.  I suspect some of you have the same fond memories.
