He was first sighted in the mid 60s.  He smiled at everyone.  He was thought to be an alien.  i had heard about him when I came home from Nam.   I guess he fit right in with the hippies that I couldn't figure out at all

Very impressive.  Indrid is allegedly an alien.  Supposedly friendly but if he’s a Biden supporter he’s probably lying like a Big Dog.

So, let me understand this:  Vidor will want the input of a coach with a losing record?!  And what's being talked about is hiring a coach with a losing record?!  Can someone help us make sense of this?

PS -- Is it that Vidor has been in a losing way for so long that they think that is the norm?  Or, have they fallen into the trap of we don't have the kids and we'll never have the kids to compete?  So, the major requirement is that the HC be a nice guy?

C’mon Reagan, why you always ragging on the Pirates?  Why not the BC Cards?  The Kountze Lions?  Beaumont United?  Even your beloved Bulldogs?  Plenty of room for improvement in this area, by the Pirates and all the others mentioned above.

    What's MSM to you?

It's on CNN & NBC News

Pardon me if I go into mild shock, but I am curious.  Did they connect the two shootings or simply report on this one killing?  Did they point out this was the second Republican Councilperson killed in one week?  To condense it down, did they connect the dots or simply report on a killing?  Enquiring minds want to know.

  4. As Biden listed all of his “great” accomplishments I was reminded of an appropriate analogy I heard on The Five.  You have a beautiful home with expensive vases and paintings.  A guy comes in and trashes it, breaking the vases and defacing the artwork.  Then he comes back to fix it, gluing the vases back together and scrubbing the paintings.  Then he wants to tell you what a great job he’s done.  I fixed this and that, he proclaims.  Haven’t I done great?  Yes but, if you hadn’t have destroyed it to begin with, it wouldn’t have needed fixing.  And the Dem voters soak up this “great” news, proclaiming what a great man he is.  It’s simple male bovine feces.

As Lincoln said, You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you can’t fool all the people all of the time.  Well the Dems have it down to an art.  They fool way to many people all of the time.

  5. The second Republican Councilperson has been shot & killed in New Jersey.  Take a moment and imagine this happening to two Democrats.  The MSM would be on it like white on rice.  This dastardly deed probably won’t make the National News.  Are the two shootings connected or is it every “Hunter” for himself?  I’ve no idea.  Only thing I do know, it’s dangerous to be a Republican Councilperson in New Jersey.

  6. The Vidor HC in football years 63-64, who’s name eludes me right now, was imo an elite HC.  Vidor went 0-10 in ‘62, 6-4 in ‘63, and loss via penetrations in the States Semi-Finals in ‘64.  He retired after that year because of health reasons as I remember.  No tradition to rely on.  No reason that’s apparent, just a great Coach & a great group of kids.

  7. Had George Washington or Thomas Jefferson been giving the rebuttal, I’d watched.  Hmmmmmm, wonder what they would say?

For instance, the Va Senate removed a Youngkin appointee to the Board of Education because she defended the Constitution from those who called it a racist document.  Maybe just me but that bothers the feces out of me. What kind of people are in that Senate?  Sounds treasonous to me.

  8. My TV was in a SOTU blackout.  Watched a repeat of The Incredible Dr Pol.  Much more informative and the Dr. Is infinitely more intelligent than Joe.  Poor Joe (poor USA) is barely, at times, coherent.  And he’s being lead by the Woke Left.  How sad is that?  For us.  For the country.  The road he’s steering us down will make his replacement grind his teeth to nubs.

  9. One aspect that gets little attention, but explains somewhat the success of first year Coaches is tradition.  A school with a winning tradition (imo) has a definite edge over one without.  PNG & Nederland are two examples, although Ned has fallen off recently.  But when PNG takes the field, with the stands full of purple and the band blaring out Cherokee, they have that edge.  And if for instance they’re playing Vidor, and it’s one of those rare times Vidor should win, they more often than not will lose because of that tradition.  Call it “never give up”, or whatever, but a great tradition goes a long way.  Jmo

  10. Who would have thought the HC position at Vidor would draw so much attention?  I don’t think the PNG hire came under such scrutiny.  Well my, my, my.

Thank goodness the new Coach has a great bunch of Juniors next year.  Hopefully he’ll have a winning season & everyone can chill.  Otherwise there could be vigilante’s roaming Main Street (105).

  11. Democrats impunity with the Laws of the Land started many years ago.  Hillary (Teflon) brought it out to the public.  Now everyone knows they all have a Get Out of Jail Free card.  Look at the Dem Lawbreakers. Hillary, Waters, Hunter, Joe, Illian Omar, Strzok, and on and on it goes.  The DOJ has the proof, so where’s the indictments?  Is the FBI weaponized?  That’s a joke.  They’re bought and paid for.  Literally, you can call them the Gestapo.

In the battle at Chosin Resovoir, Marine General Oliver Smith made a famous quote.

Question is, what was that quote?

Does not have to be word for word.  Just give it your best shot.

PS; tvc, give the others a day or two.  I’m 99% sure you know it.

    Answer:

“Retreat hell!  We’re not retreating, just advancing in a different direction.”

What were the factors that changed for The Elite coaching of Doug Etheridge after 1977 @ PNG with the same type players? Seems he was average coach after that year. My guess would be the players @ PNG from '78-'83 were not as talented as a whole or never understood the skills being taught by his elite coaching techniques like the players from '74-'77.

    Etheridge Records after 1977

    '78- 6-4

    '79- 4-5-1

    '80- 7-3

    '81- 3-7

    '82- 4-6

    '83- 6-3-1

    '84- 2-8 @Round Rock

Always wondered about that.  My theory, he had surrounded himself with some outstanding assistance Coaches, and like a team, together they made things happen.  Split them up and the above record is what you ended up with.
