I'm pretty sure it will be very close to the same stuff.. So people can stop saying Kountze getting a new coach this late is gonna hurt.. The only big change is grayland arnold going to the QB spot
Are you certain he will be qb? Coach Joubert might want to change things up a bit. -
Ok I change my prediction. The 4 playoff teams are as followed
Woodville, Anahuac, Hardin, Warren
In that order -
-
Well I heard that Hardin had Scott Surratt of Carthage in the works. But Scott only agreed to take the job in 2026 under the following conditions. Vince Young and Calvin Johnson had to both father twin boys with girls from Hardin. But...word I got was that the two prettiest girls from Hardin have both been training for 12 years for just that chance encounter. So...
Future is bright indeed! -
It's lunch break. Not brake.
Sorry...couldn't help it. -
Its a crying shame the academics isn't what it used to be at WOS. When I went there we didn't have the issues that seem to always plague them nowadays.
Maybe academics would be a little better if they didn't accept any and every transfer that has a pulse. You can't really do anything about kids that live in your school district...but there is nothing wrong with being selective with transfer students. The top schools in the state academically and athletically do just that very thing. -
Just stating what I have heard from multiple sources close to where he used to coach out in West Texas. Like I said just ask him. Seems though from his past that he has to bring in players because he cannot get the job done. Im out of the country so I cant get a schedule, did he ever decide to man up and play any Beaumont schools this year?
Are there not any other schools in the state that accept or play with transfer students? -
And....didn't WOS just lose their best player?
-
Newton also lost their best player
I'm pretty sure I keep saying that nobody knows what might happen between now and December. -
-
Most football coaches don't take a job that they will have turned into a successful program 5, 10, 15 years down the road.
But...
If you take an 0-10 team to a 4-6 team... Chances are better for getting a better job the next year. Probably making more money.
Sorry.. -
I see no DII team in Region III beating WO-S.
I don't either. But the best team does not always win. And nobody including you knows what will happen between now and December. -
Just out of curiosity, what teams in Region III Div. II have a better shot than WO-S?
I said 65% shot of making it out...that's almost 7 out of 10 odds. I'd say considering its round 5 that's pretty good odds.
I do think they're the most talented team. But the best team doesn't always win....and playoffs are funny. -
I think WOS has best chance to make it out of the region. Maybe 65% chance to get out. I give them a 20% chance to win it all.
I think Newton has 40% chance to get out. 15 to 20% chance to win it all.
I think region 2 wins both of these titles.
I don't think anyone else has a prayer in setx. -
Eight. I do believe they're looking at replacing one that left for Baytown Lee.
See that's what I mean. A team with 12 coaches and similar talent beats Hardin 10 out of 10 times.
8 coaches...and the 1st hour after school are split between JH, JV, and varsity. Which means none of them are getting coached like they should. Which hurts down the road.
Plus...what are those coaches teaching? There are schools in the state where if not every then almost every football coach on staff does PE, health, SpED, or some other cake schedule. Hardin can't beat a team that has more coaches, and every coach just has to worry about football all day. Not grading, lesson plans, dress code, etc.. -
I will just say, yes. Nobody wants to hear about it. The front end of the group is entering 6th grade this year, so we're still a few years out. There was a group in Hardin many years ago with similar talent, but nothing like what's coming.
I will say this...I think that Hardin is going a good direction. Nice field, I heard Hardin is building a new school, relatively new facilities... Definitely gonna be the place people want their kids going to school in the immediate area in the future. I think a big nice gym would seal that fate for them.
However...there are so many other things that go into play on that level (state champ).
They have a long way to go other than having an exceptional group of athletes. I think every year on 1 classification or another the most talented team does not win the state championship.
Just one example.. Hardin will simply get out coached by a team with similar ability. Reason being...there isn't a team in the whole area willing to pay for a "top tier" coach. Or..bring in enough coaches to get the job done.
How many football coaches does Hardin have? -
I don't know what to think about this district. My gut is telling me Kville and Buna will be top 2. And Kountze and EC will be 3 and 4. But I think it could all be a toss up.

I really dont know the history but starting to get the vibe that HD/Liberty doesnt care for each other. Lol
This has zero to do with how HD and Liberty feel about each other.
HD55 thinks HD is the greatest football program in the history if Texas...and I am proving that a neighboring school...that he is always ridiculing...is more successful "post 1979" than HD is. -
Lonestar Football has HD at 169 wins since 1990... my HD education says that beats 144 lol.
I don't know if you're naive...or just retarded. Click on this site
http://lonestarfootball.net/team.asp?T=1611
And count the number of wins next to each year starting at 1990 and add them up. You will obviously need a calculator. It's apparent that HD math didn't do you any justice.
According to LONE STAR FOOTBALL...HD has 138 wins since 1990. -
I'm not saying it won't happen...and I'm not saying they're not good...but...
I think it's pretty funny that Kountze has their first playoff appearance in 40 years and now there are predictions that they win district.
I don't want to sound like a downer...but UIL had as much to do with them making playoffs as the actual team itself. If they don't send 4 teams..there is no difference than any other year.
I hope they set the world on fire...but there are still things to prove to me. -
Guys, the topic in the next 20 years, not the last. Lol!!
Ok fair enough. My prediction..
Liberty will have more wins than HD the next 20 years too. -
HDBobcat55 we are talking about Liberty vs. Daisetta playing each other not more wins than the other. Your obviously beating around the question. I guess that's HD High School Education for you. They probably live in Raywood now, but HD still got the 2 student athletes from Liberty.
I'm no mathematician... But according to this website http://texashighschoolfootballhistory.com/won-loss_records.html
Liberty has 144 wins since 1990. And HD has 139. -
So you just labeled all HD folks as rig or pipeline hard workers. lol, your funny, heck I know HD folks that have pretty nice Management jobs in the Petrochemical Industry. I'm one of them. Also, if you look around Liberty you will see lots of HD folks with leading roles in that town. I will go out on a limb and say HD folks are more established in major professional roles compared to Liberty folks.
Liberty has won more games than HD since 1990.
And....aren't 3 of HD's "4 horsemen" Liberty kids? I know that none of those 4 "studs" are HD kids...but I'm pretty sure I heard 3 of them are Liberty kids. -
I heard a rumor that they will eventually shut down Hull-Daisetta ISD in about the next 4 to 5 years forcing the students to consolidate with either Liberty or Hardin.
Even tho that might be a smart thing to do economically... I think that since they haven't done that to schools like High Island or Chester...then it won't happen to HD
