I can appreciate the back & forth from BISD supporters & those that don't, it really raises awareness of the unknown things that may or may not happened. The really SAD part of this whole FIASCO is................ Our kids are hurting during this entire process.

BigCam, I didn't think I could respect your opinions anymore than I already did but I was wrong. You hit the nail with a sledge hammer. Ultimately, whatever Dr Thomas or others did or didn't do, we have to learn from our mistakes. It should be about the kids and we must hold those responsible for them accountable.

Per a recently retired source of mine within TEA - this could be the biggest case of "misappropriation of funds" this state has ever seen (in terms of $ amounts).  Don't be surprised if you see BISD on a future episode of CNBC's "American Greed" - not kidding.

I highly doubt TEA will take over, I think this investigation will be a warning for BISD to clean up their act.

 

Idk what you mean when you say "take over."  A whole new board will be put in place by TEA; it's not "if" at this point, but "when."

I'm with Dove that he's innocent until proven guilty.  However, I am afraid the evidence will be that a lot of thievery went on under his watch, whether he was complicit or negligent will be the question.  Either way, his period of leadership of BISD will NOT be its finest hour.  If he was involved, to say his prosecution is racially motivated would be ridiculous.  A better argument would be that those who blindly defend him are motivated by race.

 

Let's rename the damn thing after Bubba Smith.  Then it could be "The Bubba."

Sounds more and more like Clowney #1 and a QB as the 1st pick in round 2. Some speculate that 2 of the top 3 QBs will fall to Rd 2. 

 

I agree.  Not to mention there are several potentially quality QBs that will be 3-5 rounders.  This is obviously a weak draft for QBs at the top of the board.  However, it is very deep at that position for the middle of the draft.  JMO.
 

I agree the media should be fair, but who says it has to balanced.  For instance, BISD administrator is stealing taxpayer money.  Is the media required to also report, "but she really needed that money."  Sometimes, it is what it is.  Also, the local publication that has been in the forefront of reporting the atrocities at BISD is owned by one of the largest Democratic contributors in this State (and country).  Maybe some just want this district to be the best it can be and not hide their heads in the sand?

The media does become bias when most of its reporting is on negative news in BISD.

 

In turn, does the media stop being biased when BISD stops giving them negative things to report on?

Talked to some folks "in the know". Atkins definitely has grounds for a lawsuit and has a great case to file.

 

I expect him to sue or BISD to either hire or "settle" with him out of court.

 

I have also had conversations with some people that are not from this area but who have been "involved" in the mess that BISD has become.  I am told it is not if, but when, TEA comes in and takes over the district.  All due respect Dove, I don't care who is doing the reporting, it has been a circus over there for too long.

The SEC was down this year as a whole. They were definitely top heavy with only 3 teams making the tourney. Florida was the only team that performed all year, with Kentucky figuring it out at the right time. I was really just kidding about the SEC chant.

3 of the best 16 teams in the tournament, half of the Final Four. Not too shabby.

The 14u Southeast Texas Defenders (formerly Texas Ball Hawks) took down the Stars R Born Tournament in Houston for the second consecutive year. The Under Armour team beat Galveston Hornets by 23 and RL9 by 30 in pool play. Today they beat Brownsville Big Tymers by 14 in the Quarterfinals, Houston Hoops by 9 in the Semifinals, and Pearland Bulldogs by 14 in the championship game.

I don't know about you Mr. BG, but the Cats are looking like a "team of destiny" to me. Never seen a bunch of freshmen who were so clutch. They seem to get better every game.

And the first of my Final Four teams go down. If Louisville, Mich St, Fla and Wisc made it to Dallas, I would have made a lot of money. Still can if Mich St wins it all. But I love this Kentucky team and how it's peaking at the right time. And I loved them +165 on the money line last night!
