  1. We've actually lost less than we expected.  Those boys have been through boot camp.  Expected much more attrition.  Something tells me little brother over in B/CS isn't going to be laughing at the product on the field.  Mark my words, you are going to see a very physical team under Strong.  The country club days are over under this regime.  I would be more concerned about the state of your team after a tie for 7th place finish (with powerhouse Vanderbilt) with the greatest QB in the history of your program...

  2. SMU should've got in.

I agree but they only have themselves to blame.  No excuse in hoops not to schedule some strong teams.  30+ games and no one is afraid of a loss.  The big programs have learned to err on the side of strength of schedule with the NCAA Selections Committee.  That's what got an NC St team in over SMU.  Hopefully, Larry Brown is in the process of righting that wrong.  I would bet he is.

  3. New Texas Longhorns coach Charlie Strong dismissed two players from his program Sunday.
Defensive back Leroy Scott and fullback Chet Moss were dismissed due to unspecified violations of team rules, the school announced.
Scott showed promise as a junior, playing in all 13 games last season and recording three fumble recoveries and 2.5 tackles for loss, and was named the team's co-special teams player of the year.
He had played in 38 career games, on defense and special teams, in three years and was expected to compete for an increased role in Texas' secondary this fall.
Moss, a junior last season, had been suspended for one game in 2013 and missed two others with a season-ending injury. He appeared in 27 games in his career, mostly as a reserve on special teams, and started one game.
They are the first two players to leave the Texas program since Strong was hired in January.

I thought Scott was the kid that was receiving rave reviews in offseason workouts. I could be wrong. If so, that's a big loss.
  4. ^^^^Squirming??? Who calling who names its not Sumlin gadget that one baddog!!! Think they joined a better conference & will get better tv coverage...lol no thinking that one its a FACT!!!

What do you do if you...
Dominate the finances of a really great conference so much that two schools leave...
Then, over the protests of the rest of that diminished conference, you set up a private TV channel...
And that network so alienates the rest of the conference that two more teams leave, terminating one of the best rivalry in college sports...
And since your actions made the conference a shadow of its former self, you add two schools...
But those two schools immediately suck and generate little revenue...
And the ratings on the network drop as your team gets drilled repeatedly on the field...
And the premier teams in the conference are now OU & (gasp) Baylor...
And your stadium is never full at kickoff & almost empty by the fourth quarter...
And your Enemy #1, OU, has dominated you over the last five years...
And your attempt to replace the Thanksgiving Rivalry game has fallen flat every year...
And when your coach is fired, the new one alienates the recruits & causes many to play elsewhere...
And your Enemy #1A, A&M is making headlines everywhere, playing the most entertaining ball in the country, dominating in recruiting, has replaced the rivalry game with a great one with LSU, & building the largest stadium in the state!!!!
    What do you do now?
YOU DEMAND TO RESUME THE RIVALRY GAME WITH A&M & ADD SEATS TO AN ALREADY EMPTY DKR STADIUM.

Heck, sips couldn't even wait till we finished our renovations. So much panic & desperation coming out of Austin...

Hmmm, desperation...kind of like finding a couple of MNCs over last summer.  You know, the ones no other self-respecting school with a strong history claims?  The funniest part was that you left one out, just to make it not sooo obvious you were DESPERATELY trying to keep up with the Joneses.  Otherwise, you would have mysteriously had the same number as The University of Texas has in real ones.  Yeah that worked.

I wonder if the school you call desperate will do the same thing to jack our number up to 15 national championships?  No, no one else is THAT pathetic.  Lol

  5. Just about any candidate for the Repubs is a Democrats dream because the character assassination machine will manufacture a story and the kool aiders will accept it for face value ( aka- Herman Cains "impropriety" was not acceptable but Bill Clintons was or Harry Reid lying to the public suggesting that Romney had not paid taxes in 10 years)

Yes, because Clinton's improprieties were swept under the rug by the "liberal media." They weren't front page stories for months. They weren't talked about during his campaign either. Do you really believe the stuff you say? Smh...

As for Herman Cain, I don't recall the Dems making a decision on his candidacy. Did I miss where he secured the nomination from his party? I realize this is a bigger issue with the radical right - and people are free to make their voting decisions are whatever criteria they choose. But to suggest his fate was determined by the Democrats is disingenuous at best. Perhaps the "kool alders" are voting in the same primary as you are?
  6. Sorry, but retail gasoline prices have little to do with oil company profits. Its a good thing that the oil companies are profitable. That permits them to employ lots of people, pay lots of taxes, and search for more oil. It also helped this country not need to bail out Exxon when the Valdeez situation came along and BP when the gulf oil spill took place. If they hadn't been making profits, the poor taxpayer would have funded all of the liabilities.

Technically, you are correct.  However, as I am sure you know, gas prices are derivative of a significant part of oil companies' profitability.

  7. I dont. If they did they would have nabbed RG3 and JFF. Hopefully UT doesn't screw over Heard.

C'mon buddy.  There are a dozen QBs from Texas starting in the NFL.  Another ten or so are backups.  And I am proud to say ONE of those backups at least is a Longhorn.  How could you have doubts after hearing that????  ;)

  8. prices were not this high when Bush left office! never said they didnt make money I'am talkin about what the liar and chief is doing now that is gonna hurt us regular folks who he claims to want to help! ,!? ' just so you can insert where needed.

Got to $3.95 during Bush's admin. $3.85 is highest point during Obama. For the most part, the gas prices during both administrations have mirrored each other. Not defending either. Just the facts, sir.
  9. ! You, can, read and believe Als stuff all you want! thats your choice; Just hope the gas prices arent to rough on all those middle class folks your savior is supposedly helping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,""?!

Can you enlighten me on the profits made by Big Oil during the huge rise in gas prices during the Bush Administration? Surely they were having a rough go of it and merely passing some of their losses on to the consumer?
  10. Hell I dont know if its warmer are not I do know its been a very cold winter at my house and I doubt you know if its warmer your just listening to those you put on a pedestal and think can do no wrong. Obamas agenda is not helping America and if thats okay with you thats fine with me the new laws epa are putting in place are fixing to make your gas prices go up and also the price of autos but hey maybe you can afford it but I dont think I can! I think we should vote em all out ! jmo

    Punctuation is your friend.

And I am not listening to anyone. That's your problem, not mine. I prefer reading.
  11. But to answer your question, after reading your edit, you are not all wrong in your statement. It is a little misguided though. Without getting into the merits of the gun issue, your point about $ works in favor of gun proponents. There may not be a better funded lobby than the gun folks.
