And thanking Roy lock for the 50 defense.and slowing down one of the top QB'S AND top wrs in high school.i wonder who that was for hmm!! Lol, and to made matters worse. The videos that's on FB everyone is sharing.how former players blasting this coaching staff. Hoping for better days.i don't see it.i think it will only get worse.

Maybe this move wasn’t football related and was AD related. Just maybe he wasn’t doing his job that he was told to do.

This is a bad move for Buna. There are coaches on the staff that have done way worse and said more than Kinne ever did and their job was never taken away from them. This is just a prime example of small town politics in full effect.

It’s definitely not a good one following behind how loved Bradley Morgan was in the community.

The full story is out of you are from Buna. This wasn’t based off 1 new isolated incident but is because of ongoing problems. Dr. Spicer has over 18 years experience and had worked the past 3 years as a assistant superintendent. It just so happened it all fell on her plate this move was not without warrant and merit.

Its going to be interesting to see if a true and full story comes out.  Also, interesting that the new superintendent makes this move when examining her resume online.  Massive movement with only 3 years of classroom experience.  May turn out to be great or could be a nightmare with faculty/coach retention for years to come.  This may be a sports forum, but you may see a much bigger issue in that district down the road.  Be careful faculty and staff and have updated resumes ready.

    Hello everyone..

We have put into place a better way for us to keep scores! Every Friday Night (or Thursday/Saturday) individual game threads are posted which give us a space to discuss the ongoing games and to post game and score updates.

We now have a way for you to update the score on the title of the topic and on the scoreboard itself...

    See Scoreboard Here

When you post a score update in the game thread--please post the score using this format (command)

For a Game that's still in progress:

    !!score:visitor score/home score/quarter/minutes/seconds

So Let's say Alvin (visiting team) was Trailing Beaumont United (home team) 24 to 7  with 6:32 left in the 3rd Quarter

    You would post

!!score:7/24/3/6/32    and that's going to update the scoreboard

For a Game that's gone final:
     !!final:visitor score/home score

Let's say Alvin (visiting team) was lost to Beaumont United (home team) 24 to 7

    You would post

     !!final:7/24

This is a work in progress and we will be continuing to make this better in an effort to better serve you--the fans of sports in Southeast Texas!

As expected, PAM Coaches whine & cry over scoreboard at The Reservation shows them down 14-0 before game even starts.  PNG Officials don’t understand the problem.  One PNG Coach in the press box slams down his iPad in frustration.  Accuses PAM Coaches of overreacting.

I don't think he's underrated.  I believe that anyone that knows anything about basketball places him very high on their list of best coaches around here for sure.  Arguably any area.

Congrats to Coach Wilson. Not very often you get to replace a good coach with another good coach. Great hire for the Cougs and I would imagine that he will keep them in the race for first as long as he’s walking the sidelines there.

what everyone (but you) has been saying, is that coaching, athletes, and community support all play a role.  That said, the athletes are the most important piece of the puzzle, and there are breaking points in both directions.   there's a point where a team can be so stacked with athletes that even a mediocre coach can win with them, and also a team can be so devoid of athletes that even an elite coach can't make them a consistent winner.  Can great coaching improve a team?  absolutely. Can great coaching turn a team that wins 1-2 games a year and has a tiny athlete pool into a state championship contender in 7 years?  absolutely not, although they could probably turn them into a .500 team that flirts with a playoff win every few years, based on the coaching ability alone.  Now, if that great coach starts to build things up, and a population explosion (or dubious transfer policies) bring in a lot of quality athletes, then yes, they can become a contender, but once again, that's all dependent on having the athletes.

The off-court stuff definitely doesn't sound great, but it is usually the assistant coach's job to keep track of player fouls and let the head coach know about foul trouble.

Some folks have known but I will make it public. My time as a full time administrator/broadcaster is up. I told my wife of 33 years that when she retired from teaching that I would retire with her to the beach. She retired last May and I told her I would finish out the football and basketball seasons of this year then I would join her. (would have joined her in May but needed to stay on after the passing of our beloved admin WOSGrad). I am so ready to be a beach bum.
I have enjoyed these past 17 years here on the site. I have seen it grow from just a little message board to now be considered a valuable media outlet. It truly has been a labor of love.
First of all, I want to thank Jordan Wilson, the owner of this site, by inviting me on as a staff member and eventually an administrator. He trusted me with the help of running this site and allowed me to "do my thang" and start my broadcast career. It has truly been a blessing. Thanks
I want to thank Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) who is looking down on us from heaven. He has been my partner in crime for all these years and is the reason this site is what it is today. He was the man!! I dearly miss my old friend and I hope that he is up there saying "job well done my friend". Thanks Todd for everything you did for me and this site.
I want to thank all the staff members here. Particularly Lucas, Mack, Robert, Terry, Matthew and all of the other staff. You have helped make this the place to be as for Southeast Texas sports.  Thanks for all the support over the years.
Thanks to all the coaches that I have come to know and work with all these years. Thank you for your support and cooperation and your acceptance of me and SETXsports. I am truly grateful.
Thanks to all the members here who really are what makes this site so great. I have become friends with several here and I cherish all the times we have spent on and off this site. God Bless all of you.
I wish all and this site the very best. I will still be around some but it will be mostly from my chair on the beach with my toes in the sand holding a cold one.
Thanks again to everyone and May God Bless.
