7A is not the cure all some people seem to think. I saw a mock realignment on some board for 7A and it was a joke, although I'm sure the author did the best he could. What I saw was some districts would have 9-10 members, others might just have 4 and awful travel. It's the same reason, 6A won't agree to pre split. The UIL opened a can of worms when they bought this up without doing an analysis including a mock realignment. You could say it's unfair to some scjools to play bigger schools, but you could also say it;s unfair for a 4 team district to send everybody to the playoffs while you are in a 10 team district that less than half qualify. The UIL said last summer that they would consider 7A when another 100 schools were added to the approximately 500 schools now in 5A and 6A without changing the bottom of 5A much. Game 1 bad refs, Game 2 good refs, Game 3 bad refs. Got it.
This game was won at the 5:00 minute mark through the end of the 1st half when Kountze went on a 35-12 run. Plain and simple. Blaming the refs is nothing new, and explains a lot about the way some kids behave on the court. 

I was not at this game, unfortunately, but I have a question.  You are saying Kountze faceguarded and doubled your son.  Were they not in a diamond press and zone?  I have never seen a Kountze team not in zone.  Just curious.

Are you still on this? This happens in every HS game. Come on dude, this isn't Little Dribblers. Just admit the better team won that night and move on. I hope you get some decent rest tonight before the playoffs begin. It sounds like you haven't slept very well since Friday night... 

The goal of almost every team Ever,  is to limit the touches of the opponents best shooter.  Defense stepped up after going down 0-10.   All teams grab shirts , shorts what ever they can.  They frustrate the player with the ball.  Everyone thinks Scales is a phenomenal athlete.  But frustrating him is the goal.  Just like teams try to limit Sells.   Refs call how they call,  Joubert preaches to his players , play the game and let him worry about the Ref.  An 18-2 run is Not the refs.   When you have been guarded the entire game , denied the ball and having to run around the gym all night ,  you also get tired.  Makes you miss shots later.  Legs are dead in the 4th.   Good luck in the playoffs and get ready for more of the same defense .  Hitchcock was there watching both teams.   Whitmire has done a good job and will be ready.   

5-6 making the playoffs is as down as I see.

What’s done in the dark will come to light. Hate it for those seniors that worked hard all year to get to this point of disappointment. What a way to end your senior season, them kids going to remember this for a long time.
Been living in Crosby all my life and never seen a situation like this. 
i agree that all credit for success should go to the coaches. Likewise, when there is failure all the blame should go to the coaches too.

From what I was told, two transfers were never cleared to be eligible. One from CE King, the other from Channelview. 
Have not heard anything in regards to kids not attending Crosby or have already graduated. 
I have a hard time claiming "cheating" here. They played ineligible players. If you want to call it cheating, so be it.

In regards to the 3 point shooting. Kountze only attempted three 3 pointers in 2nd half after going 7/15 in first half. Orangefield was the opposite. They were 4/6 in first half but shot 5/15 in 2nd half. At one point Orangefield was 6/9 from three but then finished 3/12.
As for the FT shooting, Kountze made a decision in 2nd half to go to the rim and not take threes which drew more fouls, particularly in 4th Q. Plus Orangefield started fouling in 4th Q which put Kountze at the line. Kountze shot a total of 17 FT's for the game but 8 came late 3rd and all of 4th when Kountze started driving to basket.
Kountze ended up having one more foul than Orangefield.

    Good game, playoff atmosphere.   Wrinkle had an awesome game, left everything on the court.    And he has good sportsmanship.  Really nice kid.   
   Sells was motivated for sure.  Kountze defended much better and drove to the basket more.    Kountze’s bench came up big as well. Good game to lead to playoffs for both teams.   

Wrinkle had a very good game. He did everything he could to get his team back in it. Kid played his guts out.
Sells made the decision that his team wasn't losing this game and he played that way. 
Both teams were spent at the end of this one.

Playing devil's advocate here - Cita' had nothing to gain or lose in this game - Still going into the playoffs as the #1 seed. 
Flip side - WB can use that momentum and make some noise in the playoffs! 

Ever seen?  PA Lincoln's James Gamble says hello.  Coach Gamble had two All-Americans...Earl Evans (1973) and Anthony Allen (1986).  I think both won the Mr. Texas basketball award or whatever it was called in the seventies and eighties.  Evans went to UNLV and Allen to Georgetown.  Neither one had the NBA career that Boutte's Kendrick Perkins had, though.  Toss up between Coach Gamble and Coach Boutte, but I'm a slight lean for Coach Gamble...I'm old.

You’re only saying him because if I’m not mistaken, you played for him.  Take those blue and gold shades off…

I actually had a feeling Brook would win this based on how well Brook played them last time as well as me knowing they were playing at home AND by Brook playing something (seeding) and Cita playing for NOTHING.
