I would be going but I will be at the HJ/Cleveland game broadcasting!!!
I probably would go myself if I weren't broadcasting East Chambers/New Waverly game. Then again, I might would find another game to broadcast. ;D
IMO 1.) DC Stallworth 2.) Kelvin Smith 3.) Earl Bray 4.) Garret Gustafsen 5.) Chris Cunningham 6.) Shawn Prudhomme 7.) David Green 8.) Kristian Smith 9.) Prentice Lane 10.) Dionte Forney
I like this list as well, but I prefer Cunningham over Smith. I truely believe Cunningham is Ned's best player. Prudhomme is the better player than Gus, but I really like Garrett's leadership on the floor.

If Whittaker can have a monster game like I know he is capable of, then Spurger can win this game. They will have to contain #24 somewhat (he'll get his, just can't let him have a monster game). The Pirates will need to hit some 3's to create some space for George down low. They will have to limit turnovers(not totally, just limit) particualry down the stretch when every possesion is meaningful. If Chase can hit a few three's, this will allow him more space to penetrate and dish to George. Laneville has no one to stop George on the low block. Also, Shain and Jarrom will have to play solid defense and Forrest will have to help on the backside rebounding. I can see Spurger winning this game (I am sure hoping for that to happen, great group of coaches and players). But Laneville is very good and it will take a great effort form the Pirates to win this one. Good luck Spurger!!

West Sabine/Tenaha: Who ya got?
AggiesAreWe replied to pinelandflash's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
West Sabine by 15
I wonder where you got that point spread from? ;) -
BTW, based on what I saw at the Kountze tourney, Silsbee takes this one, 8-2.

Is the time of this game still set for 7:30pm? I will be coming up there to do live updates of the game. I want to make sure I don't miss it.
From what I hear the gym is very dark. :-\
Yes indeed. For a 5A school (looks like a college when you drive up) their gym is not all that nice. Silsbee's gym is actually bigger and every other gym (besides West Brook's) has much better lighting. It's okay but for a 5A in the Woodlands, it doesn't seem to fit.
-
I also have 5 free tickets if anyone wants them. Plus a Cardinal Club parking pass. Section C, row 13, seats 12-16 (aisle seats)
-
I also can live with PaBees teams. Nice and pretty accurate selections. Maybe a slight tweak here and there, but the best I have seen so far as lists go.

Silsbee vs PA Lincoln Feb. 1995 at Lamar University
AggiesAreWe replied to BADSANTA's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
True Blue what has your team done lately??? This topic was started 3 months ago. We honestly could care less that Silsbee is no longer in the playoffs. I do feel for the kids, parents, and coaches. Life goes on. You on the other hand need to focus on weather or not Brookshire Bros. will allow you to work a 40hr schedule in order to keep that tin can you call a home paid up!
Why do you always have to make it so personal with peoples financial state? That's as jr. high as it comes. It's statements like that that cause one to question your intelligence and your own prosperity. BTW, I am not defending True Blue and what he is stating on this thread. -
Because the UIL dictates the playoff scheduling. Schools dictate the regular season scheduling as long as it doesn't violate the UIL rules of games played in a week.

Can Evadale make a run to state?
AggiesAreWe replied to diaperdandy19's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads

I like the rebels, but as you get deep, that man to man defense and the defensive pressure will be at another level. If other teams find out about the guards having decent ball handling, then getting the ball down the court will be a big problem. If they get it to the big men and work the inside outside game with the three and #3, then they will be fine. Rebels are a half court offense type of team, and run and gun will beat them during transitions. Also i am throwing in consistency. Rebels are not very consistent, in the playoffs, you play every quarter like the fourth.
I could not agree with you more... But they are in the 3 round of the playoffs, and not one of these guys have ever been here before. I just hope that the lesson they learned Friday carries over to this week. But everyone knows I have been hard on their guards, but they have came a long way from were they were at the start of this year. In both of their last games Leggett, and Yorktown, put pressure on them in the back court. They beat Leggetts press so bad that they pulled out of it at half and we only had 2 turnovers in the second half comeback with Yorktown. Just lookes to me like they are playing their best ball at the right time. Now they might get blew out Wen. but at least they are at the dance....
I am confused. Didn't Leggett play Evadale a few weeks ago? Evadale's last two games were against West Sabine and Yorktown. -
AGGIES ARE WE---Since we aren't playing at home, I guess I will have to bring your GUMBO to you in a thermos. Coach Hoffpauir, our new asst. Coach, has been a great addition to our coaching staff. We are very fortunate to have his experience. Coach Andrews, Coach Fontenot and the whole team have benefited from his presence. They have a good coaching relationship. This group of young kids will try their hardest, I hope and pray it will be enough.==== GOOD LUCK BUCS!!!!!
I'll be expecting that gumbo. Just don't forget the file'!!

Just because I don't have them in my top 5? ::)
I was talking more about your top ten, where you had Evadale #6 and Nederland #7. ::)
What top 10? I only posted a top 5 like it was asked on this thread. -
Yes. Ozen and Nederland could meet in the regional finals, i believe.
Nederland would have to beat Galveston Ball and Ozen would have to beat LaMarque for those two to meet in Regional finals.
sorry aaw. Corrected the post. Row 12 seats 9-12. Yes 2 grand for four tickets to 3 games is what it boils down to. That is what they are going for on stubhub. I am about to list them there.
I have two tickets myself for all 3 games. I may be looking to sell them, haven't decided yet. They are 2nd level, two sections over from your's, row 18.
I have 4 final four tickets that are good for all 3 games in Houston, Tx this year. I am simply wanting to go out and buy better tickets. They are in section 325 rows 9-12. These are behind one of the goals on the second level. I am listing them on stub hub for $600 a ticket but because I don't have to pay the fee on here to sell them so they will be $500 a ticket. PM me if you are interested and we will go from there.
So you are asking 2 grand for the set of 4? They are behind the goal you say? What row, 9 or 12?
