  1. Rhodes in, Rhodes out, the in-rhodes, the long rhodes, the easy rhodes, the tough rhodes, the whatever rhodes. I don't care if it's the American Dream Dusty Rhodes ( kind of dating myself with that one ). Silsbee wins 28-14.

  3. Calm down SHSenior07, calm down. Why so harsh on the Bulldogs? Yes, Jasper is a little down this year, but I'm not ready to write them off just yet. I do think WOS will beat them this week but I'm not so sure it will be a blowout. Jasper is very young, which showed early on in the year, but they are getting better as the season goes on. I look for the Dawgs to give my Tigers all they can handle in the last district game. I know the Tiger coaches and players will not look past them.
  4. Some of the biggest problems with a call-in show is screening calls and allowing a caller to stay on too long when other callers are waiting. The screening calls is real difficult to do because a caller can tell you anything just to get on your show but then spout out something not even pertaining to the subject just to get his or her kicks. In this case I hope you guys have that 5 second delay. On the callers being on too long, well if there is not that many callers and the conversation is a good one, then it could be helpful. But sometimes you guys might have to be rude and say we have to get to other callers and then cut that person off before they could get to other points they wanted to make. That will be a tough thing to do, but it will be necessary to keep things going. I hope this will be very successful. I know you guys will do your best and do a great job. Good luck.
  5. I spoke to some school administrators last Friday night and that's what I was told by several of them, 11 lost to grades and some quit. I'm just going off of what I was told. The actual numbers did vary from person to person. Yes, the freshman and jv games were to be played in Orange last Thursday, so the field conditions at Tiger Stadium had nothing to do with it.
  6. I was told they lost 11 players to grades and another 4 or 5 quit. Just didn't have enough to play last week. I haven't heard anything about this week though.

  9. Well in all honesty, and I know I am kind of contridicting myself here, I'll be suprised if this game is close, but I refuse to predict a blowout. To answer your question GoStangs, Jasper is real young this year, younger than I have ever heard of them. From what I have been told from some Jasper people, they have about 10 sophmores and 9 freshmen playing on the varsity, unheard of! About half of those actually start. They are very inexperienced, to say the least. They are still running that spread offense but what i was told they don't have the personel to run it. Their defense is their strenght. All in all, WOS should win this game, just too much talent and experience.
  10. That is a great link that SHS-84 has posted. Lots of great game action photos that both Tiger fans and Mustang fans would enjoy.
  11. Hey, I'm seeing double. Which one's live and which one's Memorex?
  12. Comparison scores do not matter, it's all about the match ups. With that said, Silsbee will match up quite well with Kirbyville, always have since the Wildcats have never beaten the Tigers. This will not change.
  13. All this talk about one team playing their worst game, the other playing their best, players not wanting to shake hands, fans making excuses, field conditions, ect. ect. ect., this is all a bunch of baloney. It was 2 very good teams duking it out all game long, with one making just a few more plays than the other to pull out the victory. Please folks, let's not take anything from these players who busted their butts out there all night. Did WOS play their worst game last night? Did Silsbee play their best? This can be debated for quite some time. I for one cannot comment on if that was the Mustangs worst game since that was the first time I had seen them this year. I do believe that the Tigers had something to do with the quality play or lack of, that the Mustangs had. I've felt all along that the Tigers would match up very well with WOS, and they proved me right. IMO, Silsbee was just a couple of pass completions away from changing the outcome of this game. WOS made the plays when they needed to, that was the difference. I've seen Silsbee all year, and that was about as good a game as they have played but they still made some mistakes which tells me they could have played better. I don't think we have seen the best from the Tigers just yet. As for the folks that made those silly predictions of a blowout, well all I can say is that is why they play the games. I will agree that most of these comments came from non-WOS fans but there were a few that were Mustang fans, you know who you are. But hey, everyone has fans like that and I refuse to lump all Mustang fans into that category, that's just ridiculous. I enjoyed meeting with some of the WOS fans after the game, great to see the faces with the names. Ya'll are some great guys. This game is over, let's all move on. Good luck Mustangs the rest of the season. Let's have both teams represent 21-3A well in the playoffs and bring back 2 State Championships to Southeast Texas.
  14. Friday night has been declared Maroon Out Night. Everyone wear your maroon with pride. You WOS fans can too if you want to. lol
  15. Here's what I know of the theory behind Silsbee homecomings. A few years ago, Silsbee decided to have the best home game on the schedule to be their homecoming. They have had the likes of Jasper, Kirbyville, Nederland and Ozen in recent years as their homecoming opponents. With WOS being this years opponent is just keeping with the same tune. Silsbee by no means were trying to be disrespectful. They just wanted to make the game that much more exciting. Also, I think it will cause the Tiger players to focus more on the game and not on the event. From what I have seen and heard over the last few years, is that the majority of Silsbee fans like the idea of a top notch opponent for homecoming. I think it's great.

  17. After the game at the bridge will be fine with me. I work in the press box, spotter for the announcer, so I have to be up in the box early to get things organized and ready, announcements and so forth. Another place to meet that may not be as congested would be at the district 21-3A flag poles. They are the flags sitting up on the hill right behind the scoreboard. Just a thought.
  18. Like I said on another board, no Silsbee, it's a bogus poll.
  19. Silsbee would not face Palestine or Carthage until round 3, regional final, if either was to get that far.
