  1. Okay, I'll stick my neck out. Silsbee by 15, 75-60.
  2. There is another scenerio where they would face each other earlier in the playoffs. If HJ was to finish first in district and WOS third, I believe they would face each other in the third round, game before regional tourney.
  3. I hear you Lazeek. I really didn't expect you to post anything. I know you are a class act even though you hang with spinks. lol You can tell me later, I am interested to hear what you have to say. As for the MGA, trust me, you are in if you want to play. I got a little pull out there since I am MGA prez. You could have played last year you know. I would like some info on the Terrell Garth at BCC. I would love to play in that. Since I am so involved in running our tournament, I don't get to play it, been six years now since I've played our tournament, been working it. I been wanting to play a big tournament for awhile now. Think you can get me in that one?
  4. I decided to go to this game instead of Silsbee's game and I am sooooo glad I did. WOW!!! What a game by Ryan Donahoe. 38 points and the 90 footer. He also was money from the free throw line, missing only 1 out of 20 attempts. He simply took this game over single handedly. I haven't seen a player do that since Silsbee's Darrell McArthur, McDonald's All American, took over a playoff game against Livingston when he scored 45, 32 in the second half. Donahoe is for real! I also thought WOS got tired in the second half, HJ out hustled them for every ball in the second half. Earl Thomas played his guts out trying to stop Donahoe and then having to run the offense. Earl never left the floor, neither did Ryan. I gave Earl props after the game on his gutty performance, he played hard. Great game to watch, glad I went.
  5. I think we've been over this Galena Park thing. It is not considered an area stadium. If we include that stadium, then the Berry Center is way better than Galena Park. But, like I said, none of these are local stadiums.
  6. Word is that the new hire is.... well I'll just let ya'll wait till tomorrow.
  7. If I'm not mistaken, I think this thread was asking the question of should atheletes be forced to participate in football off season even if it was a detriment to their other sport. I am off the agreement that conditioning is beneficial to all sports. But, there are some exceptions. Weight training for football is not beneficial for sports like golf and tennis. Those sports do need some weight training but not the kind you would do for football. There are student athletes that do play football and these sports, very few mind you, but there are some. I think an AD just has to take in consideration of every single athlete and do what's best for them personally. Yes, 98% of the high school football players will not play on the school's golf or tennis teams, but that remaining 2% shouldn't have to do everything the football players are doing if it is going to take away from their other sport. In Texas, football rules and it should be that way, definetly. But, I also admire a school that has a well rounded sports program and not one that most of the time puts all their eggs in one basket.
  8. There's no better press box in the area than the one at Tiger Stadium in Silsbee.
  9. I heard Silsbee and Orangefield boys was moved to tomorrow at 7:30. Don't know about the girls game.
  10. Congrats to Silsbee, the only area school with both girls and boys basketball teams ranked in the top 20 this week.
  11. The Lady Tigers will beat the fictisous #1 ranked Bobcats by 9.
  12. Silsbee went 10-0 last year in district. The year before they went 9-1, losing to Coldspring.
  13. Hopefully the weather won't affect any of the games Tuesday. What do you think Coop?
  14. Brown from PAM is listed as one of the top 10 juniors in the nation, not just the state. Thomas isn't anywhere near those lists. With that said, I am not too impressed with Brown, he plays no defense. He will have to step it up in that department when he goes to college.
  15. Jasper hasn't defeated Silsbee in basketball in 100 years, or so it seems. No suprise about this 18 point win except maybe it could have been 25.
  16. Is this an area stadium poll, or state wide? I would think Galena Park would not classify as an area stadium.
  17. Any local top 30 player poll that does not include a single Silsbee player on the list, is quite simply a bogus poll. Terrance Jones and Shannon Robinson should be on this list at the very least. A couple of other Tigers could be on the list as well. But, it's just one man's opinion poll. I would rather see the Tigers ranked in the state team polls.
  18. The Silsbee boys were district track champions last year.
  19. So I take it that Silsbee had a bad night against WOS then. Fact is, some teams just match up better than others do. WOS had the inside players to match up with Silsbee's inside guys, HJ didn't have those against Silsbee. Silsbee did a great job defensively against Donahoe, where he went off on WOS. It's all about the match ups.
