  1. I like Silsbee's Donovan Harris. Plays both sides of the ball, reciever and safety. He's got speed to burn, 3A state 110 meter hurdle champion. Question for you WOS fans. Will Garrett play defense this year along with being the Stangs running back?
  2. LOL!!! Good one WOS92. I'm pretty sure when the mods see your post it may not last very long, but it's still classic.
  3. There is no doubt who has the better football program between Silsbee and WOS, it's WOS hands down. But I do think the question of this thread was just asking about this year's upcoming Tiger and Mustang teams. Like you said WOS92, that remains to be seen.
  4. I believe WOS92 was pointing out the score from last year between them and Kirbyville for balla's sake. I don't think he was predicting this score for this year between the Tigers and the Stangs.
  5. Seeing that I work the pressbox ( spotter ) for Silsbee home games, I will have a birds eye view of the fabulous #24 from Kirbyville. Knowing that there is no way you can live up to the smack your spewing, I should have everyone up in the pressbox rolling with laughter with my comic comments about your play, including your own coaches. Probably won't have to comment much, your own play will be a big laugh in it's self. Like kicker posted earlier, I'll pray for your safety. Then again, maybe I won't.
  6. I loved that game that Silsbee beat Marlin in 1977, but I'll have to take the '98 first round win over undefeated and #2 ranked WOS, 21-20. WOS actually beat Silsbee earlier in the season 17-0 in a quagmire.
  7. Seems like I have heard this before. Oh yea, from the last three seasons, that's where I've heard it. Until the mildcats actually prove it on the field, your comments and predictions are meaningless. Balla, your mouth is sure creating some big shoes for those mildcats to fill, and I am afraid by the time the game rolls around, you will have them too big for them to fill. My point is, you are predicting blowouts and not just wins. If the mildcats do beat Silsbee, but say by just 3 points, then your mouthy predictions would be wrong. Look, I really don't have a problem with you predicting them to win, it's just the manner of which you say how they are going to win and by how much. That's what leads people to not take you seriously and consider you Kirbyville's town clown. You know, like the goof on the Andy Griffith Show, Earnest T. Bass.
  8. For Silsbee I see Daniel Paulus and Donovan Harris recieving scholarships, could be more, but at least these two for sure. Harris's could be in track though but also could get both.
  9. Shelton ran for a little over 900 yards his junior year and about 1200 his senior year. Where as Price ran for just over 1,100 his junior year and 1,600 his senior year. I mentioned Robert Arline as a honorable mention because of him being the best fullback for Silsbee. But, overall Shelton was probably better than Arline.
  10. Why should anyone worry about a team they have never lost to? Besides, I have better things to worry about, like when and where I am going to play golf next. Any hackers out there up for a skins game at Silsbee CC?
  11. I was just curious as to how many applicants there were for this job and who were some of them? Anyway, congrats coach Wueller.
  12. TexasBob, you need to update your data on Tiger Stadium in Silsbee. There was an addition of about 800 seats to the homeside, a half horseshoe if you will, 2 years ago. The picture you have on your site doesn't show it, looks like a picture from the first year it was opened, 2000. The capacity should be close to 10,000 now.
  13. I guess the question would be " Is the kid really that good, where he would get a college scholarship, or is the parents looking through rose colored glasses?" ( which is probably the case in most sitiuations ) I'm pretty sure that most if not all coaches has a potential college level player on their team, he's going to see the field quite often. I believe those sitiuations are to obvious for a coach to disguise.
  14. Recognition for what?? For being a bunch of mouthy losers, okay, you are deemed recognized. Congrats!
  15. I am still shocked that Sterling beat Central last year. After my Tigers destroyed Sterling 56-32( wasn't that close, was 56-12 at the start of the 4th ), I would have thought the Jags would have humiliated Sterling. I guess that's why they play the games.
  16. Silsbee's turkey legs and smoked boudain. And since the pressbox was mentioned, Tiger Stadiums pressbox with it's famous fried chicken buffet, awesome! It's good to be the spotter.
  17. You guys have all mentioned plays that aggrevate, but you still haven't mentioned THE PLAY that causes all aggrevation. That would be when the opposing team scores a touchdown. Right?
  18. Kirbyville, since balla is predicting them to win state. Anything short will be a disappointment( except for all us intelligent folk who know the mildcats won't even win their own district and may lose 3 games in district) balla, Kirbyville has never beaten Silsbee in their entire school history, but you act like the mildcats are undefeated against the Tigers. You, silly boy, are a complete joke.
  19. Here's my top 5 all time Texas list: 1. 2000 Willowridge 2. 1970 Houston Wheatley 3. 1985 Houston Madison 4. 1972 Dallas Roosevelt 5. 2002 Dallas Lincoln Also like to mention probably one of the most talented teams ever was 1983 Houston Yates team. They had Ricky Winslow, Carl Holcomb, and three others who were D1 players but this team was poorly coached. They let a very much smaller and less talented Fort Worth Pascal team beat them in the state semis. Pascal was definetly the more disciplined and better coached team. Well, that's my top 5, let the debate begin.
  20. One of the best high school dunkers I ever saw was LaBradford Smith of Bay City. This guy had tremendous leaping ability with great control. He made many a spectacular dunk in traffic. Also, the best dunking team I ever saw has to be the 1985 state champ Houston Madison team with Sean Gay & Co. Actually, they were one of the best teams I had ever seen until that Willowridge team with Ford, Ewing, & Co. came along.
  21. Desmond Doss of Silsbee could be on this list. Also Kountze's Philip Coffey.
  22. This game is Silsbee's homecoming game, will be a big home crowd for you Hawk fans to look across the field at. Mark it down, Tigers win 35-14.
  23. If I were Lumberton( thank God I'm not ), I would definetly hire Clay. To me, he's an obvious choice.
