  1. This article came out Wed. morning, well before anyone knew what was instore.
  2. I'm not so sure of this. I do know that the freshman and jv games were to be at the Reservation, but they could not have them there. Tiger Stadium was then brought up, but to preserve a good field for Friday night, it was decided to just cancel. I don't know where you get the idea of Silsbee backing out.
  3. Actually, records show that he had 454 yards, 6 td's. He had right at 600 yards all-purpose yards that night against Nederland.
  4. I think band of brothers was suggesting that PNG is rank, as in smell. Sarcasm at it's best.
  5. PNG games are broadcast on 92.5 fm Silsbee games are webcast here. Two ways of listening this week, if in your car, 92.5. At home or work, setxsports.com
  6. Well, last year after my Tigers destroyed Sterling I would have thought Central would have done the same. Thought wrong. This year, my very young Tigers eeked out a win over Sterling, so I'll predict a Central blowout. Jags 42 Raiders 12 C'mon Jaguars, make me look good.
  7. I'll just sum this thread up like this: It's not in the NFL, so it can't be all that great.
  8. Personaly, I would like for them to remain as they are. At least till after this Friday when they face my Tigers. ;D

  11. Okay Rob, I came to your defense earlier, but you contradict yourself in this post. I agree, a few of the Tiger fans ( I think most of these are youngens ) don't give the respect that the Hawks deserve. Just call it young and dumb. Everyone with any sense knows what HJ basketball is, a great traditional state small school power. They have been in the past, still will be in the future.
  12. Jeremy Johnson, qb Silsbee 11-19 178 yds. 1 td passing 21 rushes 138 yds. 2 td's
  13. Coop definetly got a bee in his bonnet. I think Coop could take Bostwick anyway. Now Brown on the other hand, Coop could be out of his weight class.
  14. Woa, woa, woa, settle now, settle. We heard ya, trust me. It's going to be alright. Obviously, the horses in Orange aren't mudders. ;D It's good to have a good ole mudder, they sure know how to take care of ya.
  15. Right now, the Tiger offense is way ahead of the Tiger defense. Both sides of the ball are inexperinced except for the o-line, which is key. Silsbee has a very special player at qb, he has the potential to be the best that has ever come through Silsbee, IMO. The Tiger defense is a work in progress, but I believe by the time we are in the thick of district, the defense will come around. The offense will need to keep the scoring going in these early games, to let this defense grow up. The defense will get better, and the offense will too, which is a scary thought. I really like the promise of this team, going to be fun to watch.
  16. Look, you guys need to get off Lazeek's back. I know him personaly, he's a good guy. He loves his Hawks and will defend them to the bitter end, wouldn't expect anything less of him. I believe you guys are just mixing words. Lazeek is right when stating that teams with state titles, particularly multiple titles, have greater tradition, the hardware is the proof. But nobody can argue that Silsbee is not a basketball tradition rich school. The Tigers have won too many district titles and too many playoff apperances to not garner that. What I believe upsets Lazeek and other HJ fans, is some fans want to somewhat diminish what the Hawks have done over the years, particularly recent years. I agree with Lazeek in the fact that Silsbee, year in and year out is going to have better athletes than HJ, but that doesn't make them a better basketball team. Coaching is a big part of it, and Sutherland is top notch. Travis is a good coach, don't get me wrong, but IMO, he's not to Todd's level, YET. I also agree that HJ's players play the game a little smarter than Silsbee. They have to be, to make up for the lesser talent they have. IMO, if Silsbee and HJ were to have played 10 games against each other last year, HJ would win 6, Tigers win 4. Having a player like Donahoe gives you a great edge, nothing like having that go-to-player when you need him. Silsbee didn't have that. I will say this, back in my day, we owned HJ. Of course we were 4A and they were 3A, but, in the late 70's to late 80's, I don't recall ever losing to the Hawks. I remember Silsbee playing in the Hawks tournaments back then, winning several of those championships. I'll close by saying this, until Silsbee wins a state championship, the Hawks have the bragging rights.
  17. Already with the Waller thread. You guys haven't played Forest Brook yet. What happened to playing them one at a time?
  18. What do you mean "kinda"? You guys did stink. Lumberton 27 New Caney 17
  19. Yes, the Tigers are real young this year. Several players will be getting their feet wet this year. I think we have 5-7 sophmores on varsity this year. We do have some experience on the o-line which will help. I have been to several practices and there is definetly some learning processes going on. I think Silsbee will take some lumps early in the seaon with some turnover and missed assignment issues but with the talent I see out there, they'll come around come district time and make the playoffs. Consistantcy will be a must. With such a young group, the Tigers will look great and then look bad. You are right, the future is real bright for Silsbee.
  20. Silsbee's quarterback this year is sophmore Jeremy Johnson Runningbacks are junior Chris Castle and sophmore Chris Barnes
