If they are going to allow 4 from district to advance in 1A and have an Area meet, it should be done in all classifications.

The Silsbee Tigers travel over to Orangefield tonight to take on the #4 state ranked Bobcats in district 21-3A action. The Tigers (8-9, 1-2) will be trying to get back on the winning path after losing two consecutive district games to WOS and Bridge City. The Bobcats (16-2, 3-0) and #4 this week in the SETXsports poll, look to continue their district win streak after taking down Hardin-Jefferson, 11-3, and to set up the big show down this Friday against BC. Let me clarify my comments. I am not saying Vidor wins this game by starting Hester, I just think they had a better chance of it. Better vibe going in with your #1 on the bump, batters not feeling pressure like they have to score several runs to win. As for the errors, I agree, can't make that many and expect to win. But, in this case the errors really don't matter when you get no-hit. Vidor could have been flawless in the field last night but still would have lost because of them getting no-no'd by Bellow. I can somewhat understand what Coach Green is doing in this sitiuation, but I'll stand by what I have said earlier. Vidor would still qualify for the playoffs by pitching Hester against the districts best teams. I just think it's too early in the district to be concerned about when to pitch who. I can understand if it was down to the final 2 or 3 games.

Talked to some of the coaches in the last couple of weeks and their enrollment number is around 410 now.

Totally disagree with not starting Hester. You start him against the best. If Green is worried about Hester's arm, then where was the concern for it when Hester was pitching complete games in tournament games which really don't matter. ::) And why pitch him at all tonight if you are saving him for Tuesday's start? Just doesn't make much sense to me. A definite topic for discussion come Monday night. ;)
