1. That's right Chad. SETXsports have contracts with Silsbee and Vidor to broadcast their athletics.
 2. I also heard that Tiger has requested to tourney officials to not allow any women to attend this tournament because of his clinical disease he has and that the clinic he attended has instructed him to follow the guidelines that they have set forth which is to not look at another woman for 6 months.

 7.
At some point all of these whining parents need to realize that the coaches and the administration are not fully to blame. If you want better athletes/basketball players, it starts with the parents.... 1. It's called GENETICS.  If you want better athletes, produce them!  Coaching can only do so much. 2. The kids need to play more than the 3 month basketball season.  This is true in any sport: baseball, golf, soccer, tennis, swimming, and so on.  There is no real commitment from the kids and PARENTS. 3. Fundamentals and skill development need to start young, in intermediate and elementary age children.  A "player" can not walk into a varsity level sport with terrible mechanics or no experience and be good.  Maybe Little Dribblers needs to focus on solid fundamentals. I've seen H-F play, some kids shoot from the hip, dribble with their eyes down, dribble only with the right hand, etc.  Those are all things that are "developed" at an early age and are extreamly hard to change in a highschool age kid.  4. Some kids mature at different times.  Just because a little dribbler program is succesful does not guarantee that the same highschool age kids will be. 5. The bald coach was Keener by the way.  He left H-F and did quite well at Hitchcock.  The kids he had at H-F could shoot the lights out, jump out of the gym, basically they were talented.  Was he a good coach, the answer is yes.  Were his players talented, that answer is yes too. 6. To whom ever was griping about the non district schedule.  Maybe the H-F needs to schedule Yates, Lamar, The University of Texas, and then the Rockets to get ready for district.  Be realistic, H-F is trying to get a win. 7. The parents obviously don't like the current coach. Maybe they can get Bobby Knight to quit ESPN and coach at H-F and try to win.  The parents would probably gripe and whine then too.  His reply would be to bury him upside down so the parents can kiss his A$$!!!! 8. Some parents/posters need to quit threatening to move their kids to Kelly and instead support the school and their kids. To sum things up.........Parents need to start supporting the kids and coaching staff.  H-F is not Kelly.  They can't recruit disgruntled parents children, so H-F plays with who they have.
Well said, Fed Up, well said!
 8. Or bring your own. ;)

 10. Sometimes I wonder too. ::) The question wasn't about playing a game, but why against Legacy? Kelly and Big Sandy along with some teams north and west of us are available on that date that would have been a much better preperation for Kountze.
 11. Why is Kountze playing Legacy this late in the season?
 12.
Start at the beginning. Two Words - "Little Dribblers". Make that five words - "A Good Little Dribbler Program". It's not the whole enchilada, but its the strong foundation that you've got to build on.
Actually, HF has a pretty good Little Dribblers program.

 14. I saw Chad Allen just about single handily beat WOS in the Bi-district round of the playoffs. He has great speed and athletic ability. I can see him excelling at the reciever or safety spot.
 15. Jeremy Johnson, Silsbee QB signed with West Virginia I personally got to witness his signing this morning. Very nice. Congrats and good luck JJ!!!
 16. It's very simple(but in some cases, impossible). HF has to change three things, the culture, the environment, and the mindset. They have to play the game more(culture), upgrade the practice and facilities(environment) and decide to make the basketball program a higher priority sport(mindset). Basketball is not played by many and not enough there at HF. They have to practice the game and enhance where they practice and how they practice. Most importantly, basketball cannot be 4th or 5th on the totem pole, it has to move up in the pecking order. Get those things set in place, you'll see improvement in the program. But like I said, in some places, that's impossible. ;)

 19.

The all time record between Kirbyville and Silsbee is 11-1, in favor of Silsbee. Kirbyville's only win in the matchup was a 29-28 win 3 years ago.
True and the last time they played, Kville won. So you would think that Silsbee would play them again to get back on top. But they refuse to play such a close opponent. Instead they play Newton. Lets see , drive through Kville to play Newton, how embarrassing.
Just what do you mean by "refuse to play such a close opponent"? Silsbee plays Lumberton, it don't get much closer than that. ;) As for playing Newton, Silsbee has had a long standing relationship with Newton and each team looks forward to playing one another every year. If you are referring to Silsbee turning down Kirbyville this year, that didn't happen at all. I was standing right next to Coach McGallion when Coach Alverez asked him to play. Silsbee had already completed their schedule. In fact McGallion has had his schedule set since December based on the district remaining the same. It's comical to think Silsbee is running from Kirbyville.  ;D Silsbee is scrimmaging them though. ;)
 20.
Hey homeless... BH is 4-3.  Still think we are weak?  Its amazing that we lost to prolly the 3 best teams in the district and people are quick to say BH isnt any good, they schedule weak, etc Now BH is winning......nothing?  Ridiculous....just a bunch of haters.   ::)
BH is now 4-6. Yes, the Eagles are not as good as the Hill folks were trying to make them out to be. ;)
 21. Correction, this is a season stat, which includes any playoff games. You and I both know Silsbee and Thomas have more than 4 games left. ;) I still think he will have the record before the regular season is over. ;D All he has to do is average 2.5 blocks over the last 4 to tie it. Right now Avory is averaging 6 block shots a game. I like his chances.
 22.
Nice win for the tigers looking at the stats it was a true team win AAW how close is Avory to the block shot record?
Avory currently has 152 block shots for the season. He is 10 behind the mark of 162 which was set by Eddy Fobbs.

After starting the game on a 9-0 run, WOS was able to battle back to tie it at 11 and at 14, but that was the last time it was tied. Silsbee closed out the second quarter on a 12-4 run to go into halftime up 26-18. Silsbee was led by Ronald Barrett who is starting for Pheal Hill, as he connected on 3/4 from 3 point land to score 11 first half points. The Tigers hurt WOS on the boards in the first half, out rebounding the Mustangs 24-14. There wasn't many fouls called in the first half as Silsbee only went to the line 4 times, making 3 and WOS went to the line 8 times, making only 2. The second half started out a little sluggish for both teams but Silsbee finally got it going on the offensive end, getting a couple of 12 point leads, 40-28 and 42-30, but the Mustangs kept battling with the Tigers and closed the gap to 7 at the end of the 3rd, trailing 41-34. WOS opened the final quarter getting a couple of turnovers and cutting the Tiger lead to 3 on two different occassions, 45-42 and 47-44. But the Tigers got some clutch baskets down the stretch from Lane and Jones and then Silsbee iced the win away from the foul line, hitting 8 of 10 with Stallworth going 6-6 in the clutch to finish off the Mustangs, 58-44. Silsbee still had a big advantage in the rebounding department as Jones and Thomas each had 14 rebounds. The twin posts also combined for 10 block shots. The Tigers had another great night from the 3 point line shooting 50% with Barrett hitting 3 of them. Both teams had their share of turnovers as Silsbee committed 21 while WOS had 19. Both teams had balance scoring tonight but Silsbee is really showing that they are one of the best defensive teams in the area, keeping another opponent under the 50 point mark. A very good win for the Tigers to remain undefeated in district and run their current win streak to 15.
