Is WOS the easy favorite to win it or will Silsbee and the other teams be able to give them a run?
It's WOS district's to lose. Also, Silsbee will be better than what folks expected them to be.
After the first scrimmage, it sounds like Silsbee should be the favorite.
Nope, Kirbyville is down, WOS would have done the same with them that day and will do it later on in the season when they venture up to Kirbyville to take on the Wildcats.

Second, who said scooter was invited? ;) ;D

 5.
One log to throw on this fire, why did Jordan Wood, Seth Barrow, and Michael Shaw, stop playing basketball?  They were three of the best players in their class, Shaw one of the best athletes in the school, Barrow shoots the lights out and a great athlete in his own right, Wood a small forward who can bang, step back and hit a j, dee up and rebound.... Why are these guys not playing basketball?  I've got my theory.  This lovefest goes both ways, get off your high horse.  I can't think they just lost interest.  And I know if they grabbed any two knuckleheads from the halls, their five could ball against anyone in the school... so how rosy white is this situation?
Hmmmm... very interested in reading the response to this post. Brubaker just knocked down a big 3 and now has applied some full court pressure. ;D
 6. Can't wait!! We have a ton to talk about Sunday night! Are you ready for some football?!!!!!! ;D

He has the potential to be JJ good. At this point he is a little bit thicker version of JJ, just not as fast, but still has the quickness and athleticism. Reed has a very strong arm for a sophomore and runs the ball with toughness. At '6"2 180lb he has very good size and I still think he will grow some more. He needs to work on his accuracy but that will come with the experience and reps. The good thing about being a sophomore QB this year is that he has an experienced and talented O-line to work behind. That line will help smooth things in the early part of the season until Patrick and his backfield mate(Floyd Spearman, who is also a soph.) can get used to the varsity speed of the game. In the long run, a soph. QB has always worked out for the Tigers and I see this one being as good as all the others, including JJ.
How big is the Spearman kid?
Spearman is '6"1 190lb. Easily the biggest back with very good speed that Silsbee has had in quite some time. And he is only a sophomore. ;) A quote from WOS head coach Cornel Thompson, "Spearman looks like a young AP (Adrian Peterson) when he was at Palestine".

Thursday Aug. 18th Hardin @ Hull-Daisetta     10am Silsbee @ LCM            5pm WOS @ Vidor          7pm
I assume you will be going to WOS/Vidor instead of HD and Hardin now?   I think Ill go to Hardin and keep stats. actually Im going to EC at 5pm then Hardin at 7
I was going to Hull-Daisetta if it would have stayed at 10am instead of 7pm. I will be at the WOS/Vidor scrimmage at 7pm since it's just down the road from LCM.
 14. Man we(me being one of them) let this thread get off topic. ;D For the sake of doing what's right, let's get back on topic. Thanks
 15. [Hidden Content] Live stats Game starts at 6:30pm
 16. I like Silsbee's receivers as a group. Yes Turk is the leading receiver returning, but it's the whole group that I think is as good as any teams in the Southeast Texas area. Turk, Kelton Gaines, Garrett Drake, Jordan Holmes, and Montana Garcia will all make plays this year for the Tigers.
 17. Them slippery sharks! ;D Congrats to Coach Gregg!
 18.
Like I said in another post, I dont remember his name and might be the same yall are mentioning but the inside kid for Silsbee with practice jersey #14 was very impressive.  He was either in on every play or hitting someone every play.
Same kid, Jacob Keefer #14, senior 4 year starting inside linebacker, better known as "JK".
 19.
Spearman kin to the one from the early 1990's for Silsbee???
Yep. Spearman will start at running back but may see some time at linebacker when needed.
 20.
But its the 2011 season! how should they do THIS year??
I believe it to be one of the Tigers strengths coming into the season. That and it's linebacking corp.
 21. It's the classic "he said/she said".  ;D Don't know where the truth really lies but I am betting it is somewhere in the middle. But, I will not rule out that it tilts to one side a bit. ;)
 22.
The other day he was 6'2" 210... I guess he grew, huh Kerry?  ;) ;D
Got my numbers from the Silsbee coaching staff, not the Enterprise where they have been known to be wrong a time or two. ;)
 23. He started at defensive end. Played very well until he tweaked his knee and sat out the rest of the scrimmage. The injury didn't look too bad. He was walking after the scrimmage with a slight limp. I think he will be back for the next scrimmage but if not, for sure back for the first game of the season. Thomas is a good looking athlete, '6"3 220lb, with good speed and quickness coming off the end. He will definitely be an asset to the Tiger defense.
