Kendrick Perkins Arrested on Public Intox.

This is a definite embarrassment to himself and the community. -
Did the two transfers play and if so how did they look?
The PA Memorial transfer started at defensive end, looked good till he tweeked his knee. He will be a good one for the Tigers. Injury is just minor, should be back for week 0. Turns out, there is no New Orleans transfer. ???

Who are the area's hardest hitters?
AggiesAreWe replied to Vpirate's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Silsbee senior inside linebacker and 4 year starter Jacob Keefer will lay the wood to ya! He had the best hit today in their scrimmage with Kirbyville. -
A little more breakdown of the stats: Kirbyville rushing 34/ 15 yards passing 3-16 30 yards Silsbee rushing 30/ 108 yards passing 11-20 290 yards 4 TD's I think it's safe to say (although I expect to see some scrutiny on these comments ::)) that Silsbee dominated this scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The Tiger 1st team defense looked the best out of all the groups (both teams 1st & 2nd off. and def.). The Tigers disrupted several plays with their senior linebackers penetrating the line, getting some sacks and tackles for loss. They just didn't allow Kirbyville get into any kind of a rhythm. Silsbee's offense was a big play offense as all 4 TD's came via the pass and all were 50 yards or better. Silsbee run game looked descent at times, but missed a few opportunities (missed some holes). Silsbee looked very good for a first scrimmage. Kirbyville struggled. They could not get the run game going and their pass game was never established. The Wildcat O-line just had a hard time keeping the Tiger defenders out of the backfield. The Wildcat defense did well against the run, but the secondary gave up too many big plays. It is definitely their weak point. I believe Kirbyville will get it together by season's end, but they will struggle early on. By the numbers: Kirbyville suited out 27 on varsity, Silsbee had 40 suited out. Tigers had 3 soph, start on offense (QB, RB and RT) and 2 on defense (NG and LB)

Nederland AD hires new basketball assistant coach
AggiesAreWe replied to 5 on 5's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
For what it's worth, when I was a head coach at NHS and this stuff was being discussed, Coach Neumann asked me if I would like my athletic period to be double blocked. I said, "Yes, definitely." He responded by saying, "I'm glad you said that because any coach who doesn't want to see his kids every day probably isn't a very good coach." Any time I had a conversation with Coach Neumann about a change in policy or a break in a precident, he would always say, "If we do it for one, then we have to do it for all." I'm not saying that he is/was for or against the double blocking of basketball (or whatever other sport), but if he is/was not fully on board with it, ask yourself, "Why not?" If you think he actually wants to see another sport fail, then you just might have a tin foil hat or something. I certainly would not want to be the AD who had to deal with the logistics of having essentially all sports meeting 1st or last period. That's all sports sharing the showers, locker room, weight room, gym, and fields. Rainy days would not be fun. You wanna see a fight?! Ask a cheerleader sponsor to get out of the gym because you have a game tomorrow! She's like a honey badger. She doesn't give a flip. They have a competition that weekend and that's all that matters! Another point to consider: If you are taking these coaches and their assistants out of the classroom for an additional athletic period, then you are burdening the rest of the teachers who do not coach on that campus. Who will take on that extra academic course load? Again, I'm just offering what (little) I know of this subject in my nine years at NHS. Also, just for fun, replace "Nederland High School" with just about any school in Texas, and replace "basketball" with any sport other than football, and nothing will change. Every sport other than football in every town in Texas gets no respect. If you don't like it, move to Kentucky. They SUCK at football, and no one cares. I gotta go. The aliens have hidden my tin foil hat again.
Good post. -
Another version of the game report from a "non-Silsbee" spectator. :D Opening series for both offenses was a serious contrast of styles to say the least. Not sure about all these stats and numbers posted earlier in the thread because several of the big plays were negated by penalties. Lumberton busted 3 really big plays and not a whole lot after that so the "official stats" are a bit misleading. Lumberton showed off a really nice running back who was fun to watch, sorry I don't know his name but he ran it well. The "Full House" backfield worked well for the Raiders and gave BC fits at times, with more reps that offense will be a Defensive Coaches nightmare because it takes some serious discipline to stop. BC sported a really balanced attack and by far had the more sustained drives of the 2 #1 offenses. Bridge City showed good speed at the skill positions and Menard was as good as advertised. On both the offensive and defensive side side of the ball the biggest concern for BC may be size or lack of it. They compensate well offensively by taking advantage of Menard and his mobility with the spread. BC did get the run game going with Clark during the second session for the first offenses. Defensively BC had some issues on the first series that ultimately were resolved but not before Lumberton scored a pair of long TD's. BC held the Raiders in check for the most part after that. Lumberton got good penetration several times from their defensive front line causing a few disruptions for the BC offense, especially on that inside run from the spread formation. Overall both squads have to feel good about their performances. Relatively clean game for both sides as far as penalties and turnovers are concerned. And the biggest thing for both sides was no injuries!!
But from a Bridge City point of view. ::)

The best zone defense is the one that keeps your opponent from scoring more points than you do. ;D In all honesty, I like man-to-man. ;)

Question for OLDREF or ZEBRA1
WRONG BigDaddy..........not everyone was notified!!!!! The bottom line is selfishness and greed. Some refs give preferential treatment to some coaches and schools. Way too much "I'll scratch your back, if you scratch my back" going on with some refs and coaches. What happened to being a person that just sat back and called a good fair game and called it down the middle?
With the local chapters split, those days are long gone. :-[ -
Both 2nd teams ran 10 plays each, no scoring. There was no game conditions portion of the scrimmage. Bridge City's offense was impressive with an even mix of run and pass. Menard looked pretty sharp. The BC defense did appear to get pushed around a little bit when they were on the field but did better as the scrimmage went on. Of the 45 plays that they ran, Lumberton threw the ball maybe 3 times. They are going with a full house backfield and look to try and control the ball this year. And they appear that they may need to, the Raiders on defense had a noticeable lack of team speed that will hurt them around district time.
Could not have said that better myself. ;D
If you talking bout Kerry then no. Kerry was the fastest mustang ive ever seen to include Beasley.
But neither were as fast as Trey Franks. Franks won state in the 100 meters in back to back years, 2009-2010. He turned a 10.3 100 meters. He is now playing receiver at OU.
