    Theory About AI

All good points and AI is great technology. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. My wife and I were discussing how we had heard that Siri was eavesdropping. We started talking about generators and she noticed later on, when she was on an internet page, the border ads were about generators. We thought that was too weird to be coincidental. Try it sometime. It may not be instantaneous, but it happens. My biggest problem is that great inventions seem to invite evil applications ie….card scanners invite criminals to use them to steal identities. This has happened to me.

Understood. Most people around town who know him don't believe he intentionally wanted to harm the kids. He's just a guy who's passionate about the game and the program and kids and values toughness because that's what was taught to him in the program. He just went too far this time and I don't think he was aware of the harm it was causing the kids at the time. Lot of folks will say he "should've known" and I don't disagree with that but we've all probably had moments where we weren't aware of things we "should've known".

  9. Top of the morning .. First off congratulations to CB , well deserved but We will never play in those tournaments lol, ain’t nothing changed, the show must go on , CB has a great basketball mind and I think it’s a great hire . The fact remain the kids still have to put in the work . I dont care if we play Evadale or BU you have a job to do .. get in the lab and get off tik toc .. It’s a great day to be a tiger . And for the record before people start spreading rumors about Jacob and Ira is mad is false , they support the hire . I ain’t been on social media in 4 months but I see all the farewell fans jumping ship ..I love it lol . And we still win district this year

  11. Just for reference, it would be beneficial to say what you don't like about AI tempered by what you do like about AI. Have you ever asked Siri for directions or a phone number? That's AI. You ever use Google Maps or a similar navigation tool? That's AI. Do you ever look at a weather forecast whether it be from a weather app or even a live broadcast from Greg Bostwick? Yep, AI again. These examples should speak to you @Big girl: Medical Image Analysis, Diagnosis, Personalized Treatment Plans, Drug Discovery and Development, Robotics in Surgery and a host of life-saving clinical & practical research methods - all of these enhanced immensely by AI. Before you blanketly say, "I dont (sic) like AI", you should quantify your dislikes or even fears. Because in many instances above and more, you DO LIKE AI! Common fears and concerns are : Many of us fear technology taking our jobs. We fear government surveillance by machines. We also fear “fake news” on steroids, as programmers with questionable agendas lead masses astray with politically charged deep fakes. We fear AI weapons, drones and robots that hunt and kill with superhuman force without human intervention - an Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator type super human force that can destroy the world... The concerns are real, but so are the benefits. Saying "I don't like AI" is more like saying "I don't understand AI, and I fear things I don't understand". It's a fair and more truthful statement.

  12. He should go to a school he either A. Is in the attendance zone B. Has already established residency ( like silsbee) C. If he goes to a school with open enrollment and doesn’t live in the attendance zone sit out the required year. You know follow the same UIL rules that everyone else is supposed to be following. By all means he should do what him and his parents feel is best for him, but with that being said if he is going to play at a UIL school it should be in accordance with UIL rules.

  19. The hire has the approval of both Ira and Jacob Brooks. They both have stated they will be staying on as assistants.

  20. Silsbee pays terrible, there is going to be a negative over reaction to this hire, I think he will do fine, the negative reaction will come from people’s view of his lack of head coaching experience, but if they brought in a previous head coach people would say that guy didn’t win enough. I feel like a lot of people were scared away from replacing a legend with what is viewed as a down year in talent. The fact that is most people don’t want to take a $15,000 pay cut to hear about how they’ve run the program in the ground all year, when the fact that they had less talent than the previous guys probably had the last 15 years.

  22. I doubled checked with a good friend of mine who is a NP (and has his Doctorate) said there was zero chance this just popped up in the last 12 months - he said it was either complete incompetence or a cover up. He has had the best medical insurance for years, and you KNOW he had routine at least yearly exams and blood work. If it was not for the cover up of his mental well being, this would of possibly went under the radar. When you add the mental issues, and now the medical issues, this is going down as one of the biggest scandals in American history.....IMO

  28. Thanks. It happens. Medical research shows that 80% of men over the age of 80 get some form of prostate cancer. He had a full life and was ready to be with my Mom. We knew it was coming, as he spent his last months living with us, so we were prepared.
