Eh, depends on your grasp of the word “most.” You don’t play with Jack Yates with 3 or 4 guys and not get your doors blown off. Fact is, he did a very, very good job in his first year as a head coach. Going to be a really good one for years to come and I couldn’t be less surprised.

Robertson did very well. But that really has nothing to do with Daspit's abilities to coach. IMO, last year's style of play and coaching is different than how this year was played and coached. Different styles and philosophies. I just don't see any reason to discredit one to enhance the other. Completely unnecessary and kind of irrelevant to this game thread. I have to agree, BC plays Yates last year, it's likely a 20 point win for Yates and not a 1 point win.

I’m still wondering how Robertson built this team with only 3 returning Varsity players. Mungy never stepped on the court or put a jersey on last year so how could that count? BC doesn’t even play the same game as when he was there. There's actually chemistry now in the program. Not putting down Robertson, but this is not the same team by a long shot! This team and last year’s team is night and day different. The bitterness and jealousy of his family to get on here and not give Daspit credit for this season is astounding. I mean, why even comment at all? Daspit didn’t cause Robertson to lose his job! Last year’s team would have lost by 60 to the Yates team that BC played last night! This game is posted on YouTube. Just search for Bridge City Cardinals vs. Jack Yates Lions. It’s hard to listen to with all of the noise makers banging though.

Why is it important to you personally to discredit what Daspit has done in his first year?

It's going to hurt. We really need our big freshman to have a good off season and be ready to start next year. He needs to hit the weight room and get stronger and faster. We've got another kid with decent size on JV. Hopefully he can fill in for Boulwen. We should have good shooters (not that it mattered tonight) in Jones, Cardinalli, and Arline, plus maybe one or two more. The real fun should start when next year's 8th graders make it to high school. So long as they all stay together and continue to develop, we'll be set up really nice.

First time Onalaska has ever beat Central in varsity boys basketball. Lots of firsts for this team.

Just watched the 4th quarter on KOGT. Don’t watch a lot of girls HS basketball but always said that if you played a drinking game where you took a shot any time one of the girls hit the floor or there was a tie ball, you would die of alcohol poisoning. After watching tonight, that appears to hold true even in a regional finals game…

Oh well on to next year. There's going to be lots of question marks as to how good the Tigers will be next season. Their district win streak may be in serious jeopardy. We'll have to wait and see.

Incredible athlete. I was shell shocked watching that game. We were top ranked in the state and lost by 20 in the second round.

The conference has 11 baseball teams and they all play each other thus the early start to conference games. Once they start the only break for weekend series is UTA as each team will have an "open" weekend in conference due to the odd number of teams. When I first saw the schedule I was surprised at such an early start as well, but like that there isn't an unbalanced schedule and all teams will face the entire conference.

Great seasons for both of these teams, and a great game tonight. BC did something late that the horns struggled with all night, which was make 3/4 clutch free throws late to put this one away. Proud of the horns, and hope the cards can keep this momentum going in the state semis next week!
